La collezione Cassina è costituita da modelli paradossalmente così
diversi, perfino contraddittori, da cui emerge un tratto comune:
il coraggio di ricercare per questa produzione quella qualità che
ne fa un punto di rifermiento per la cultura internazionale del design.
Certamente, occorreva anche coraggio per produrre questi semplici
mobili, in cui stanno però l’intelligenza, le speranze, le debolezze e
la genialità dei più famosi architetti che hanno operato nel XX° secolo.
La malinconica intuizione moderna di Mackintosh, la visionaria
precisione di Le Corbusier e Charlotte Perriand, la certezza
rivoluzionaria di Wright, la geometrica follia di Rietveld, la raffinata
classicità di Asplund, l’oscillazione tra il rigore e la libertà di Albini
risplendono nella collezione dei Maestri; è un segno dei tempi che
banali imitatori cerchino oggi di vivere, almeno in parte, del riflesso
di questa luce. Certo, “chi non ha il coraggio non se lo può dare”.
Invece, ricercare la diversità, tentare il nuovo, rischiare su ciò che
ancora non è, sono le strade che Cassina ha indicato e percorso,
insieme ai progettisti delle nuove generazioni. Così, “nuovi” sono stati
e sono anche Gio Ponti, Vico Magistretti, Mario Bellini, Gianfranco
Frattini, Toshiyuki Kita, Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi, Gaetano
Pesce, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass jr., Achille Castiglioni, Piero
Lissoni, Philippe Starck e tutti gli altri nomi che appaiono in questa
lunga e bella storia; perché ciascuno di loro si è reinventato un
rapporto con l’azienda e le sue strutture di ricerca e produzione.
Forse sta proprio qui la capacità di creare anche un nuovo modello
di industria: nel riuscire a tenere insieme personalità molto diverse,
riportandole a una stessa logica di progetto, fino a far nascere oggetti
che sono parte di uno stesso ordine. Un ordine indefinibile, che però
nasce da molte cose certe: la ricerca della miglior qualità, i continui
controlli e aggiustamenti sui materiali, le tecniche e l’esecuzione, ma
anche, ancora prima, l’attenzione al significato dei colori, delle forme e
soprattutto dei comportamenti generati da ogni nuovo progetto.”
The Cassina collection includes models so paradoxically
different, even contradictory, from which yet a common
feature ermerges: the courage to seek the kind of quality
that would make it a reference point for international design.
Certainly, courage was also needed to produce these simple
pieces of furniture, that are seen to harbour the intelligence,
the hopes, the weaknesses and the ingenuity of the most
famous architects that have worked in the twentieth century.
The malinconic modern intuitions of Mackintosh, the visionary
precision of Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand, the
revolutionary certainty of Wright, Rietveld’s geometric folly,
Asplund’s refined classicism, the fluctuation between the
rigorousness and freedom of Albini shine forth in this collection
of Masters; it is a sign of the times that banal imitators try at
least in part to bask in the reflected glory of this light. Certainly
“he who lacks courage cannot instil it in himself”. On the other
hand the path traced out and taken by Cassina alongside
the designers of the new generations follows the quest for
diversity, the desire to try new things, to risk that that has yet
to be created. Here the “new” generations would also number
Gio Ponti, Vico Magistretti, Mario Bellini, Gianfranco Frattini,
Toshiyuki Kita, Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi, Gaetano
Pesce, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass jr., Achille Castiglioni,
Piero Lissoni, Philippe Starck and all the other names that
appear in this long tale pervaded by beauty: this because each
single person mentioned has been able to interpret his relations
with the firm and its research and productive structure afresh.
This could be where the capacity to create a new industrial
model lies: the ability to combine personalities of very different
natures, to hold them to the same design logic up to giving
birth to objects that belong to the same order. An indefinable
order, born through out of a series of certainties: a search for
utmost quality, continuous testing and adjustment of materials,
techniques and the execution, but above all the attention
paid to the meaning of colours, to the forms and above all the
behaviours generated by each new project.

Die Kollektion Cassina besteht aus Modellen, die paradoxerweise so
unterschiedlich, ja sogar einander widerstreitend sind dennoch mit
einem gemeinsamen Nenner: den Mut für jene Qualität zu suchen,
die daraus einen Wertbegriff für die internationale Designkultur
macht. Allerdings gehörte auch Mut dazu, diese einfachen Möbel zu
produzieren, in denen sich jedoch die Intelligenz, die Hoffnung, die
Verletzlichkeit und die Genialität der berühmtesten Architekten des
20. Jahrhunderts vereinen. Die melancholische moderne Intuition
eines Mackintosh, die visionäre Präzision von Le Corbusier und
Charlotte Perriand, die revolutionäre Sicherheit von Wright, der
geometrische Fanatismus von Rietveld und die raffinierte Klassik
von Asplund, die Schwankung zwischen Rigorosität und Freiheit von
Albini geben der Kollektion “I Maestri” ihren Glanz. Es ist ein Zeichen
unserer Zeit, dass banale Imitatoren heute versuchen, zumindest
zum Teil, im Abglanz dieses Lichtes zu leben. Sicher, “wer nicht den
Mut hat, kann ihn sich nicht verschaffen”. Die Unterschiedlichkeit
zu suchen, das Neue zu wagen, das Risiko einzugehen, bei dem,
was noch nicht ist, das hingehen sind die Wege, die Cassina
eingeschlagen und durchschritten hat, gemeinsam mit den
Designern neuer Generationen. So “neu” waren auch einmal
und sind es immer noch Gio Ponti, Vico Magistetti, Mario Bellini,
Gianfranco Frattini, Toshiyuki Kita, Paolo Deganello, Massimo
Morozzi, Gaetano Pesce, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass jr., Achille
Castiglioni, Piero Lissoni, Philippe Starck und alle weiteren Namen,
die in dieser langen und schönen Geschichte auftauchen. Denn jeder
von ihnen hat sich in der Verbindung mit dem Unternehmen und
dessen Strukturen der Forschung und Produktion neu erschaffen.
Vielleicht liegt wirklich darin die Fähigkeit, auch ein neues Modell
für die Industrie zu schaffen: wenn es gelingt, sehr unterschiedliche
Persönlichkeiten zusammenzuhalten und sie zu einer identischen
Projektlogik zu führen, um daraus Objekte entstehen zu lassen, die
ein Teil einer selben Ordnung sind. Eine undefinierbare Ordnung,
die jedoch aus vielen feststehenden Dingen geboren wird: der
Suche nach der besten Qualität, den ständigen Kontrollen und
Anpassungen der eingesetzten Materialien, den Techniken und
der Ausführung, aber auch, und vielleicht vor allem, der Beachtung
der Bedeutung von Farben, Formen und insbesondere der
Verhaltensmuster, die von jedem neuen Entwurf ausgelöst werden.
La collection Cassina englobe des modèles paradoxalement
si différents, parfois contradictoires, desquels ressort toutefois
un point commun: le courage de rechercher la qualité qui en
fait un point de refère pour la culture internationale du design.
Certes, il fallait aussi du courage pour produire ces meubles
simples où l’on trouve cependant l’intelligence, les espérances,
les faiblesses, le génie des stylistes les plus célèbres du
vingtième siècle. L’intuition mélancolique de Mackintosh, la
précision visionnaire de Le Corbusier et de Charlotte Perriand,
la certitude révolutionnaire de Wright, la folie géométrique de
Rietveld, le classicisme raffiné d’Asplund, l’oscillation entre la
rigueur et la liberté de Albini resplendissent dans la collection
des maîtres; le fait que de banals imitateurs tentent aujourd’hui
de vivre, du moins en partie, du reflet de cette lumière est un
signe des temps. Certes, «celui qui n’a pas de courage ne peut
pas se le donner». Par contre, rechercher la diversité, tenter
le neuf, prendre des risques sur ce qu’il n’y a pas encore, tels
sont les sentiers indiqués et parcourus par cassina avec les
designers de nouvelles générations. Et ainsi, gio ponti, Vico
Magistretti, Mario Bellini, Gianfranco Frattini, Toshiyuki Kita,
Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi, Gaetano Pesce, Andrea
Branzi, Ettore Sottsass jr., Achille Castiglioni, Piero Lissoni,
Philippe Starck et tous les autres noms qui apparaissent dans
cette longue et belle histoire ont été, et sont, “nouveaux”; car
chacun d’eux s’est réinventé dans le rapport avec l’entreprise
et ses structures de recherche et de production. Peutêtre est-ce justement là que se trouve la capacité de créer
également un nouveau modèle d’industrie: en réussissant
à tenir ensemble des personnalités très différentes, en le
renvoyant à une même logique de conception, jusqu’à ce
que naissent des objets qui participent à un «même» ordre.
Un ordre indéfinissable, qui naît cependant de nombreuses
certitudes: la recherche de la meilleure qualité, les contrôles
et les ajustements continus sur les matériaux, les recherches
et l’exécution, mais aussi, bien avant, l’attention au sens des
couleurs, des formes, et surtout des comportements générés
par chaque nouvel projet.

Sistema componibile Un sistema di sedute che permette grande flessibilità: adottando la panca, come
elemento base, e accostandovi i pannelli a formare configurazioni che rispondano ad esigenze personalizzate
oppure scegliendo fra le composizioni suggerite. Un sistema capace di rispondere a molteplici richieste:
con o senza sponde, tutto aperto e senza schienale, oppure tutto chiuso pieno di cuscini come un nido. I
cuscini schienale in piuma, in diverse dimensioni, nascondono un innovativo inserto in poliuretano espanso
che consente di modificarne l’altezza a proprio piacimento. La seduta, sostenuta da cinghie, è in poliuretano
espanso privo di CFC a densità differenziata con imbottitura in piuma. Cavalletti in pressofusione di alluminio
lucido. Rivestimento disponibile in tessuto o pelle. Completano la collezione tavolini con la stessa struttura
del divano e con il piano in acciaio o in cristallo, quadrati o rettangolari.
Modular sofa system A seating system that allows great flexibility: using the bench, as a base element,
linked together with panels to form configurations that meet customized requirements or with the possibility
to choose one of the suggested compositions. A system capable of meeting multiple requirements: with or
without sides, wide open with no backrest, or enclosed and full of cushions, like a nest. The down-padded
backrest cushions, in several sizes, hide an innovative insert in polyurethane foam that lets you adjust their
height. The seat, supported by belts, is in differentiated-density CFC-free polyurethane foam with down
padding. Frames in die-cast polished aluminium. Fabric or leather upholstery. The system also includes side
tables with a matching frame and square or rectangular steel or glass tops.
Kombinierbares System Eine Sitzlandschaft mit überraschender Flexibilität: Die Bank als Basiselement,
mit Paneelen kombinierbar, um ganz individuelle Lösungen zu bilden oder unter den bereits vorgeschlagenen
Kombinationen auszuwählen. Ein System, das sich zahlreichen und wandelnden Bedürfnissen anpassen kann:
mit oder ohne Seiten, ganz offen und ohne Rückenlehne, oder geschlossen wie ein Nest mit vielen Kissen.
Die mit Daunen gefüllten Kissen-Rückenlehnen unterschiedlicher Größe verbergen einen innovativen Einsatz
aus Polyurethanschaumstoff, mit dem die Höhe beliebig verstellt werden kann. Die durch Gurte gestützte
Sitzfläche ist aus FCKW-freiem Polyurethanschaumstoff unterschiedlicher Dichte mit Daunenfüllung. Gestelle
aus poliertem, druckgegossenem Aluminium. Bezug aus Stoff oder Leder erhältlich. Die Kollektion wird
komplettiert durch kleine Tische mit dem gleichen Gestell wie das Sofa, mit quadratischen oder rechteckigen
Tischplatten aus Stahl oder Kristall.
Système composable Un système d’assises qui permet une grande flexibilité: la banquette est l’élément
de base combinée avec des panneaux pour créer des compositions personnalisées qui répondent aux
exigences individuelles; le système offre aussi la possibilité de choisir des compositions déjà configurées
étant donc capable de satisfaire de besoins différents: avec ou sans bords, complètement ouvert et sans
dossier, ou bien complètement fermé et plein de coussins, comme un nid. Les coussins de dossier en plume,
de différentes dimensions, cachent un insert innovant en mousse de polyuréthane qui permet d’en modifier
la hauteur au gré de chacun. L’assise, soutenue par des sangles, est en mousse de polyuréthane sans CFC,
à densité différenciée, avec rembourrage en plume. Supports en moulage sous pression d’aluminium poli.
Le revêtement est disponible en tissu ou en cuir. Le système est complété par des tables basses, ayant le
même support que le canapé, avec plateaux carrés ou bien rectangulaires en acier ou en cristal.

• Armonia e morbidezza delle forme incontrano discrezione e rigore dando vita ad una collezione in bilico
tra spontaneità e ricercatezza. Il morbido abbraccio della cuscinatura è sostenuto dallo schienale in cuoio.
L’elegante struttura in frassino tinto nero a poro aperto dona il perfetto equilibrio tra contemporaneo e rétro.
La collezione è costituita da poltrona, divani in diverse declinazioni di misura e forma ed elementi con sedile
allungato, aggregabili oppure utilizzabili anche singolarmente. Il modello può essere corredato da cuscini
in diverse dimensioni in tessuto o pelle. I cuscini schienale sono imbottiti in piuma; i cuscini seduta sono
costituiti da un inserto in poliuretano e imbottiti in piuma e piumino. Disponibile la versione con imbottitura
in ovatta di poliestere.
• Soft forms give life to a collection balanced between spontaneity and refinement. The soft cushioning
is supported by a leather backrest with an elegant black stained ashwood structure creating the perfect
liaison between contemporary and retro. The collection is composed of an armchair, sofas in different sizes
and shapes and elements with long seat, to be used as joining units or also individually. The model is also
available with additional cushions in different sizes with fabric or leather upholstery. The back cushions have
a feather padding; the seat cushions are made up of a polyurethane core and feather padding. A version with
polyester padding is also available.

• Disegnata da Franco Albini insieme a Franca Helg, sua assidua collaboratrice dal 1952, la poltrona
Tre Pezzi formula una rilettura modernissima della classica bergère, di cui viene esplicitata la struttura
formale. I tre elementi compositivi sono evidenziati con estrema chiarezza in una sorta di visione
esplosa ed enfatizzata: la profonda seduta, l’anello poggiareni, che disegna un semicerchio perfetto
e il poggiatesta a mezzaluna, con la loro nitida geometria sono ben distinti l’uno rispetto all’altro.
Il segno grafico della struttura in tubolare in acciaio verniciato nero opaco o cromato connette gli
elementi imbottiti. Ogni mobile della Collezione “Cassina I Maestri” porta impressi indelebilmente: la
firma dell’Autore, il logotipo “Cassina I Maestri”, il numero progressivo di produzione per identificare
l’oggetto in collegamento con la sua Carta d’Identità.
• Designed by Franco Albini with Franca Helg, who has worked continuously with him since 1952, the
Tre Pezzi armchair offers a very modern re-reading of the classic bergère in which the formal structure
is made explicit. The three elements of the composition are displayed with exceptional clarity in a sort
of exploded and accentuated view: the deep seat, the back support ring (which describes a perfect
semi-circle), and the half-moon headrest. With their clean geometry, each element is perfectly distinct
from the others. The graphic symbol of the frame in tubular steel, painted matt black or chrome-plated,
connects the padded elements. Each piece of furniture in the “Cassina I Maestri” Collection is indelibly
marked with: the signature of the Author, the “Cassina I Maestri” logotype, the production number to
identify the product with its Identity Card.
• Der von Franco Albini und seiner seit 1952 unermüdlichen Mitarbeiterin Franca Helg entworfene Sessel
Tre Pezzi stellt eine ultramoderne Neuinterpretation des klassischen Bergère dar, dessen formale Struktur
klar zum Ausdruck gebracht wird. Die drei Elemente der Komposition werden mit betonter Klarheit in einer
Art explodierter und akzentuierter Sichtweise dargestellt: Die tiefe Sitzfläche, die ringförmige Nierenstütze,
die einen perfekten Halbkreis bildet sowie die halbmondförmige Kopfstütze mit ihrer klar umrissenen
Geometrie heben sich eindeutig voneinander ab. Das Grafikzeichen der röhrenförmigen Struktur aus
mattem schwarz lackiertem Stahl bzw. Chromstahl verbindet die gepolsterten Elemente. Alle Möbel von
der Kollektion “Cassina I Maestri” tragen unauslöschlich folgende Markierungen: die Unterschrift des
Autors, das Logo “Cassina I Maestri”, die Produktionsnummer, um das Objekt im Zusammenhang mit
seinem Personalausweis zu identifizieren.

meubles de la Collection “Cassina I Maestri” comporte l’impression indélébile de: la signature de l’Auteur,
le logo “Cassina I Maestri”, le numéro progressif de fabrication, qui identifie l’objet en relation avec sa
Carte d’Identité.

• Un senso di piacevole leggerezza combinato alla costruzione letteralmente ‘a regola d’arte’ contraddistinguono
questo arredo. Il processo del montaggio e dello smontaggio richiede, nelle fasi costruttive, un approccio
risolutivo teso allo studio della struttura formata da tensioni contrapposte. Struttura e piano in noce tinto

Sistema componibile Un’articolazione semplice che consente un’ampia gamma di abbinamenti. Una linea di
elementi imbottiti che si percepisce come un insieme molto accogliente, formato da cuscini semplici e morbidi,
in grado però di garantire un corretto sostegno. Elementi senza braccioli, con un solo bracciolo (destro o
sinistro) e angolari. È disponibile anche una poltrona lunga, aggregabile agli altri elementi e una chaise-longue
utilizzabile individualmente. Le parti imbottite sono contenute da una struttura a vista in rovere tinto scuro o in
legno laccato lucido bianco. Alle poltrone e ai divani così formati, possono essere accostati piccoli mobili di
servizio che li completano. L’articolazione permette di creare “isole” imbottite con comodi piani d’appoggio,

a chaise-longue to stand alone. The upholstered sections are contained within a visible wooden shell-like

• Divani in due larghezze, 180 cm e 260 cm. Lo schienale è caratterizzato da uno sviluppo orizzontale a elica
che può svilupparsi verso sinistra o verso destra. I divani da 180 cm (sinistri e destri), possono essere abbinati
per formare un’unica composizione. Gli elementi sono dotati di basi a vista in acciaio cromato e pattini in
nylon trasparente. La struttura interna è in acciaio, imbottitura in poliuretano espanso, privo di CFC, a densità
differenziata e ovatta di poliestere. Rivestimento sfoderabile in tessuto o pelle. Il modello è completato da
tavolini di complemento accostabili anche lateralmente ai divani. Il tavolino quadrato è fornito in tre versioni:
con piano in legno finitura palissandro lucido e base in plexiglass trasparente che funge anche da contenitore

elemento intermedio; elementi ad isola, angolari, pouf e comodi elementi utilizzabili sia come terminali che
come angolari. Ogni elemento è completamente rivestito, sfoderabile con estrema facilità (ogni pezzo è
facilmente scomponibile in ogni sua singola parte), utilizzabile singolarmente o aggregabile a tutti gli altri
elementi dell’articolazione. L’imbottitura della struttura è in ovatta di poliestere. L’imbottitura dei cuscini può
essere in piuma o ovatta di poliestere.

island and corner elements, ottomans and convenient elements which can be used either as end or corner
parts. Each element is fully upholstered with covers which can be removed extremely easily (each item can
easily be dismantled into all its component parts), and can be used alone or with all the other elements in
the composition. The frame upholstery is in polyester wadding. The cushions are filled in feather or polyester.
Kombinierbares System Das ist ein System von Polsterelementen mit jeweils niedriger Rückenlehne (68 cm)
und einer Tiefe von 104 cm. Es gibt traditionelle Rückenkissen, rechteckig (bei dieser Ausführung ist die Höhe
78 cm) und mit Rahmen genäht welche die Basis zur Rückenlehne komplettieren oder lose Wurfkissen (mit
Daunenfüllung) in unterschiedlichen Größen und Bezügen. Das System gliedert sich wie folgt: Sofas mit einer

e vassoi portabottiglie. I piani dei contenitori possono essere in: rovere tinto scuro, cristallo sabbiato e
verniciato bianco, marmo bianco di Carrara. I piani sono nelle lunghezze per uno, due o tre moduli accostati
(rispettivamente 90 cm., 180 cm. o 270 cm.). Gli interni dei cassetti sono in legno tinto nero. Le manigliette
sono in alluminio anodizzato naturale. Se due contenitori sono utilizzati impilati, è necessario ordinare il
compensatore e un solo piano.

• Radar plays with volumes and lets its inspiration be guided by solids and spaces to compose in freedom,
creating a new family of containers. The lacquered interiors in different matt colours are matched to an external
panel frame in smoked oak or glossy lacquered. Feet in tubular aluminium covered in smoked oak.
• Durch spielerische Verwendung der Volumen, bei denen der Inspiration aus Hohl- und Vollräumen freier
