Il nome di questo bellissimo marchio, ispirato alle maestose
navi marittime con la loro grande poppa quadra, rievoca pensieri di libertà e fuga. Alcuni tra i nomi più belli dei suoi profumi
rimangono nei nostri ricordi: Sortilège, Brumes, Snob… Profumiere di talento Paul Vacher diventa proprietario di Le Galion
nel 1935, quando lo rileva dal suo fondatore, il Principe Murat.
Considerato da molti come uno dei maestri della profumeria
del XX secolo insieme a Ernest Beaux, Ernest Daltroff o Jacques
Guerlain, rimarrà famoso non solo per creazioni come Arpège
di Lanvin e Miss Dior, ma anche per i grandi profumi composti
per la sua Maison. Dopo 30 anni la Le Galion rinasce dalle ceneri come la fenice. Risorgono i profumi d’eccezione, quelli del
periodo del massimo splendore del marchio: creazioni rare e di
qualità nate sotto il segno dell’eleganza e della raffinatezza.
The name of this beautiful brand, inspired by majestic seafaring
vessels with their vast square sterns, evoked thoughts of
freedom and escape. Some of the beautiful fragrances associated with the brand have stayed in our memories: Sortilège,
Brumes, Snob… Talented perfumer Paul Vacher became the
owner of Le Galion in 1935, having bought the perfume house
from its founder, Prince Murat. Esteemed perfumer, considered by some as one of the masters of perfumery of the XXth
century alongside Ernest Beaux, Ernest Daltroff, or Jacques
Guerlain, he will stay famous not only for the creation of Arpège of Lanvin or Miss Dior, but also for the great fragrances he
composed for his own house. More than 30 years later, like the
phoenix, Le Galion Perfume House is reborn from the ashes.
Back are the original, exceptional, fiery and subtle fragrances rare luxury and refined créations.

ma quando non siamo soddisfatti di una composizione è
impossibile correggerla: bisogna ricominciare tutto da
capo. Un milligrammo in più o in meno nel suo dosaggio
può rovinarla”. Le fragranze odierne di Le Galion perpetuano l’eredità di Paul Vacher e la sua ricerca dell’eccellenza, utilizzando nella loro composizione solo le migliori
materie prime. Nella creazione dei profumi, fiori ed ingredienti nobili vengono trasformati artigianalmente e
trattati manualmente con la massima cura, secondo la
tradizione, al fine di conservare e valorizzare tutte le loro
proprietà olfattive, trasferendo unicità, raffinatezza e
qualità nella loro scia.

we are not satisfied with a mixture it is impossible to correct, you have to start again. One milligram more or less
in each dose and it’s failure”. The Le Galion fragrances of
today perpetuate the legacy of Paul Vacher and his pursuit of excellence, using only the finest raw materials in
their composition. Processed manually, in a traditional
way, the flowers and finest raw materials used in the fragrance compositions are treated with the utmost care, in
accordance with custom, in order to preserve and enhance all their olfactory properties and leave uniqueness,
refinement and distinction in their wake.

Con grande orgoglio Jovoy è ormai un marchio riconosciuto sia per la boutique di Parigi, che per la collezione di
profumi e candele. Jovoy, creato nel 1923, ha atteso fino
al 2006 prima di uscire dall'oblio, quando François Hénin,
sviluppa una nuova linea di Eau de Parfum per gli amanti
delle materie prime di qualità. Vengono interpellati i nasi
più esperti per creare nuove fragranze con un’ottica e
degli standard moderni.
L’Art de la Guerre: tutto è lecito in amore e in guerra, ma
alcune armi sono più pericolose di altre... Una fragranza è
il riflesso di uno stato d'animo, l'estensione della personalità.

It’s with a great pride that Jovoy as a perfume house is
now becoming as known for its Parisian boutique, as for
its perfumes and candles collection. If Jovoy, created in
1923, had to wait till 2006 to be output from oblivion,
when François Hénin created the new line of eau de parfums was made for lovers of beautiful raw materials, looking for contemporary fragrances, made in partnership
with master perfumers.
L’Art de la Guerre: all is fair in love and war, but some
weapons are more dangerous than others... A fragrance
is the reflection of a state of mind, the extension of a
personality.

La Maison: AEDES DE VENUSTAS
L’arredamento barocco e boudoir e la curata selezione,
hanno reso la boutique del Greenwich Village, la Mecca
per gli intenditori di profumi. Nel 2012, i proprietari Karl
Bradl e Robert Gerstner creano una maison di profumi
capace di rispecchiare il loro gusto estetico ed offrire ai
migliori nasi la libertà di sperimentare note uniche e originali. L'incenso è il filo olfattivo che attraversa la collezione.
Nella Aedes de Venustas Signature, Bertrand Duchaufour,
l’abbina ad un vibrante accordo di rabarbaro. Ralf Schwieger lo avvolge con una mistica e misteriosa Iris Nazarena.
Rodrigo Flores-Roux lo accende con le spezie esotiche di
OEillet Bengale. Oggi presentiamo un’altro grande profumo di Bertrand Duchaufour chiamato Copal Azul.
The House: AEDES DE VENUSTAS
Its baroque boudoir décor and the accurate selection have
long made the Greenwich Village boutique the Mecca of
perfume connoisseurs. In 2012, co-owners Karl Bradl and
Robert Gerstner founded a perfume house that would
reflect their esthetic stance while affording top perfumers
the freedom to experiment with unique, original notes.
The thread of Aedes the Venustas fragrances is frankincense. In Aedes the Venustas Signature, Bertrand Duchaufour matched it with vibrant rhubarb notes. Ralf Schwieger blended it with the mysterious, mystical Iris Nazarena.
Rodrigo Flores Roux fired it up with the exotic spices of
Œillet Bengale. Today we present another great perfume
from Bertrand Duchaufour called Copal Azul.

Eau d'Italie - The Essence of Italy: a luxurious collection
of fragrances, body products and room scent diffusers
that embody the essence of Italy. The first fragrance Eau
d'Italie was created in 2004 by Marina Sersale and her
husband Sebastián Alvarez Murena to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of Marina’s family award-winning Hotel Le
Sirenuse in Positano. During the following years more
fragrances and products were added to the collection,
each one an unforgettable voyage of discovery that
brings with it - every time - a part of Italy.

James Heeley è in continua evoluzione nel suo lavoro
come profumiere autodidatta con una collezione di 16
profumi, ognuno creato in Francia con ingredienti rari e di
altissima qualità, nel rispetto della tradizione e dell’arte
della profumeria. Ogni dettaglio, dalla creazione delle
fragranze sino al packaging è disegnato ‘in casa’. Oggi
Heeley è una delle poche case di profumi di lusso in Europa gestita dal fondatore-proprietario-creatore. Tale indipendenza gli permette la massima libertà espressiva. L’ultimo profumo Vetiver Véritas contiene ingredienti al
100% naturali di cui il 92% di origine biologica. È stato
formulato con una base di alcool biologico prodotto da
grano e lavanda, e contiene principalmente Vetiver di
Haiti.
James Heeley’s continually evolving work as an autodidact perfumer now contains a collection of 16 unique
scents, each made in France from rare ingredients of the
finest quality, according to the art of traditional perfumery. Every detail, from the creation of the scent to the packaging is designed ‘in house’. Today, Heeley is one of the
few owner-founder-creator luxury perfume houses in
Europe. It is this independence that allows the artistic
freedom to create scents that are simply unique. His latest perfume, Vetiver Véritas contains 100% natural ingredients of which 92% are of organic origin. Containing
principally Haitian Vetyver, the formula uses a base of
organic alcohol made from organic wheat and lavander.

Régine and Cérine, a mother and daughter and their shared passion were the commencement of Evody’s exciting
adventure. The name was not chosen at random as conveyed the idea of evodia, the “tree of a hundred thousand
flowers” evoking the hundred thousand scents yet to be
created. Searching for new creative talents, they opened
their first prestigious “niche” perfumery in 2006 in the
heart of Saint Germain des Prés which they called Evody.
They were the first in Paris to propose rare, intimate and
precious fragrances. The perfumes they create reflect their
personality, their moods and desires… For the creators,
both trained in the world of luxury, quality is a must. They
sourced the best of the delicate raw materials in order to

Smell - Festival dell’Olfatto

Smell Festival si svolge ogni anno a Bologna alla fine di
maggio offrendo a un ampio pubblico l’opportunità di
esplorare l’universo degli odori, conoscere prodotti di alta
profumeria e affinare le proprie capacità sensoriali.
Dal 2010, la crescente adesione al format da parte di
pubblico e brand, conferma il successo della formula del
Festival: un’elegante fusione di arte, cultura ed
esperienze di prodotto.
Durante l'anno Smell Festival promuove “Smell - Atelier
di Arti Olfattive”, un programma di incontri, workshop e
corsi di formazione dedicati alla storia e all’arte del
profumo.
The event takes place every year in Bologna at the end of
May. It offers to a wide public the opportunity to explore
the universe of smells, discover fine perfumery products
and nurture their olfactory skills.
Since 2010, the increasing participation of public and
brands confirms the success of the Festival’s formula: an
elegant fusion of art, culture and product experiences.
Throughout the year, Smell Festival promotes “Smell Atelier di Arti Olfattive” a program of meetings,
workshops, and training courses focused on the history
and the art of perfumery.

Through workshops and events, Essenses Indies Lab promotes the cultural heritage of tradition, knowledge and
innovation in perfumery, which is nowadays too often
hidden by the proliferation of fake artistic brands that
promise a quality they fail to deliver. Passion, creativity
and quality are the keywords that support the project.
