great Brian de Palma for an adventurous thriller
of Oscar dimensions. Based on the novel by
James Ellroy ("L.A. Confidential"), the movie
takes place in the noir L.A. of the 1940s,
following two police officers in their effort to
shed light on the murder of young actress
Elizabeth Short. As the two cops slip deeper
into the mystery of this ghastly crime, one
discovers that his girlfriend may have known
the victim, and they soon realise that corruption
is to be found within the police force itself.
Action, drama, some of Hollywood’s most
powerful players, and the solving of a ghastly
crime make "Black Dahlia" one of the most
eagerly awaited movies of recent years.
