“TRACTOR OF THE YEAR” AWARD
MARKED ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY

he Tractor of the Year award
marked its tenth anniversary
at EIMA International with a
closely fought contest that left the
John Deere 8530 the winner by a
whisker ahead of a field of eight finalists.
The prize organised by Trattori (Tractors) pays special attention to the
entries offering the most advanced
technology. The final is decided by
the votes of nineteen top European
agricultural journalists from as many
publications.
The Golden Tractor for Design was
awarded to Fendt’s 936 Vario, and
Same Deutz-Fahr’s Agroplus S 70
was named as the best specialised
tractor. Diesel of the Year went to the
Cummins B3.B engine and a special
mention was awarded to the Man D
26 for industrial power generation.
The other Tractor of the Year finalists
were the Deutz Agrotron 180.7,
Fendt 936 Vario, Jcb Fastrac 8250
Cvt, Landini Powermaster 220,
Massey Ferguson 5470 Dyna-4,
New Holland T 8040 and Valtra N
141 Advance.
The awards were announced during
a ceremony on the opening day of
EIMA attended by UNACOMA president Massimo Goldoni and the
heads of all the most important European tractor manufacturers.
During the ten-year history of the
prizes, awards have been made to
Fendt with five of which three Tractors of the Year, John Deere three
with two Tractors of the Year, Case
two Tractors of the Year, New Holland five with one Tractor of the Year,
Massey Ferguson two with one
Tractor of the Year and McCormick
with one Tractor of the Year at the
last EIMA.
This year’s jury had three new entries: Croatia, Hungary and the
Czech Republic. The AJMA, the association of French agricultural
equipment journalists, votes only for
the Golden Tractor award.

Anche quest’anno la rassegna bolognese ha fatto da
cornice alla consegna del prestigioso riconoscimento
che è andato al John Deere 8530. Premiati anche
il Fendt 936 Vario (“Golden tractor per il
design”) e l’Agroplus S 70 di SDF (“Best of
specialized”)

l premio internazionale
“Tractor of the year”,
prestigioso riconoscimento ideato dalla rivista
“Trattori”, ha festeggiato a
Bologna il suo decimo anniversario, incoronando i trattori più avanzati tecnicamente.
La selezione dei finalisti e
la successiva votazione, che
ha portato alla scelta del
vincitore assoluto, è stata
fatta da 19 giornalisti di altrettante testate europee.
Quest’anno la competizione
si è rivelata particolarmente
dura in quanto nella categoria regina, quella dei trattori
da campo aperto, i finalisti
sono stati ben otto. E’ risultato vincitore il trattore John
Deere 8530, che ha prevalso
sul filo di lana nei confronti
degli altri forti candidati,
quali Deutz Agrotron 180.7,
Fendt 936 Vario, Jcb Fastrac
8250 Cvt, Landini Powermaster 220, Massey Ferguson 5470 Dyna-4, New Holland T 8040 e Valtra N 141
Advance.
Sono stati assegnati anche il
premio “Golden tractor per
il design” che è andato al
Fendt 936 Vario e quello
“Best of specialized”, appannaggio dell’Agroplus S
70 di Same Deutz-Fahr. Si è
aggiudicato infine la palma
di “Diesel of the year 2007”
il motore Cummins B3.B,
mentre una “Special mention” per l’uso industriale
nella generazione è stata assegnata al motore Man D
26.
Alla premiazione, che si è
svolta nel giorno di inaugurazione dell’EIMA International, sono intervenuti
il presidente di UNACO-
MA Massimo Goldoni e tutti i responsabili europei delle
più importanti aziende trattoristiche.
Fendt ha vinto nel tempo 5
premi (fra i quali 3 “Tractor
of the year”), John Deere si
è aggiudicata 3 premi (fra i
quali 2 “Tractor of the
year”), Case ha conquistato
2 “Tractor of the year”,
New Holland, a sua volta,
ha vinto 5 premi (di cui 1
“Tractor of the year”), Massey Ferguson 2 premi (di
cui 1 “Tractor of the year”)
e lo stesso McCormick.
Quest’anno sono entrati a
far parte della giuria la
Croazia, l’Ungheria e la Repubblica Ceca. Per il solo
“Golden tractor per il design” vota anche l’Ajma,
l’Associazione francese dei
giornalisti di meccanizzazione agricola.
