Well appreciated throughout Europe, especially in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain and Belgium, in recent years it has extended its sales network with growing success into the countries of the former Soviet Union, the United States, Japan and Hong Kong. Technology, design, research, high standards of quality in the materials make its products perfect to satisfy the diverse requirements of contemporary living. The challenge to establish the brand on new markets has driven the company to increase its investments: “We have long felt the need to update our company showroom. Inaugurated in late November, it has become a space to show new products to our clients, a place for the senses, in which the experience can become a totalizing and stimulating full immersion; it is also a space for meetings, creating relationships and developing projects for the future”, explains Corrado De Mango, export manager, who runs the company along with his father Giulio and his brother Gianluca. Set within a new industrial construction, the space is divided into two floors of 220 square meters each, connected by a sheet metal staircase and particularly distinguished by the use of simple, but strongly characterizing materials. “We started with an industrial area to create a warm domestic environment” – explains Giuseppe Manzoni, the interior designer. “We followed the concept of a loft space, leaving the significant industrial elements and the characteristics of the structure and construction in sight, and intervening on the chromatic impact: the reinforced concrete beams were painted slate gray with veins of brown”. The selection of materials is all natural and on view: wood, industrial parquet for the flooring, steel (sheeting), and concrete. Upon entering, the client is catapulted, to his surprise, into an unexpected situation: 6 full-scale figures, made out of laser-cut sheet steel, represent the possible users of the products, from the family to the manager, as they promenade through town. The set design represents the urban and industrial landscape: parallelepipeds, cylinders, backdrops of raw sheet steel that allow the light to filter through the cracks, like light through the windows, separate the spaces and represent buildings, skyscrapers and homes. “We created distinct areas to bring the products to life, in specifically developed spaces, adds the designer – an ideal context in which to represent upholstered seating and the comfort designed for people, a finished home setting, accessorized with lamps, carpets (antique carpets, sewn and dyed) and paintings”. Bodema’s products include in particular: the collections of sofas More&More, Anyway and Mr.& Mrs. Floyd, with their reassuring design, ample seating, and various typologies of upholstery and feet; Bomade, a seating programme conceived for contract jobs by French designer Stefano Bigi. www.bodema.it Bodema ha inaugurato il nuovo showroom, spazio di novità, incontri e progetti per il futuro, ideato dall’interior designer Giuseppe Manzoni.
