The trio New Landscapes leaves this question open, relying on the publicís awareness, to choose a repertoire capable of shaping and designing a series of sound and emotional images that constantly evolve. It is a recent phenomenon where concert festivals are organized in places and at unusual times. In this context the environmental component is very strong in the execution, and the musician is called to "play the environment." And recently, the theme of soundscape has taken center stage in Italy. It is interesting to note that in ethno-musical, historical documents, sounds and noises of everyday infiltrate the music. It is a sort of fusion of background noise, soundscape and musical object. The music appears to be in a relationship of osmosis with the environment that created and shaped it over time. NEW LANDSCAPES The Trio was founded because of a need of exploring the expressive possibilities of a chamber ensemble in which instruments and musicians from different backgrounds coexist. Baroque and contemporary music, improvisation, and original compositions of the trio musicians become possible variations of a single way of conceiving music: the search for a sound and a balanced and evocative gesture. Three musicians, whose curiosity is probably the main characteristic, come from rich and varied experiences: from ancient music to jazz, from traditional music to contemporary sounds. But is not the "contamination" at the heart of the Trio, rather the natural quest for playing together, looking for the common traits of an universal language. It has been recognized through the centuries in the tradition of song and instrumental composition, that a kind of cross-over genre is achieved with the simplicity and clarity of musical and textual ideas. Every era gives us songs and melodies suggestive of their disarming simplicity. There is something that unifies and approximates that effect of the vocal and musical worlds of artists who have lived in different centuries and latitudes. And their musical production ends up placed in the same kind of aesthetic horizon: one of timelessness.
