YOU CAN ADDRESS TO...
A social assistant or a psychologist of the ASL Family Consulting Rooms are
able to help you on managing that difficult moment, where you don’t see any
alternatives but that of pregnancy interruption.
You can phone at ‘ASL di Vallecamonica-Sebino Family Consulting Rooms’,
that open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00a.m. to 16.30p.m., in order to
fixing an interview.
The interview purpose is to speak about your problems and give you an aid, by
respecting your wishes.
If you are a foreigner and you are in trouble with speaking and understanding
Italian language you can demand the presence of a Cultural and Linguistic
Mediator.

IF YOU DECIDE TO COMPLETE PREGNANCY…
You should know that Sanitary and Social Public Offices aid maternity through
several forms of protection and help, that are the followings:
WORK:
if you are a subordinate worker, full time or part time, you have right:
-Don’t be dismissed during pregnancy and until baby is one year old;
-To be exempted from dangerous, tiring and unhealthy works, and from night
work;
-To obtain a five months paid leave and even interrupt before work if the Doctor
certificates necessity;
-To obtain paid permissions in order to sustain medical exams needed for a
safe pregnancy.
Maternity Protection is a right also for subordinate workers with coordinate
and continuative collaboration contracts.

HEALTH: during pregnancy you have right to free gynaecologic visits,
pregnancy control exams and laboratory exams.
You have right also to Paediatric Assistance for the baby.
You can address to: ASL Family Consulting Rooms, Family Doctors,
Paediatricians.
Maternity protection is a right also for irregular foreign women who cannot be
expelled if pregnant or babies’ mothers. These women can request a residence
permit for health reasons available until baby is six months aged.
You can address to: ASL Family Consulting Rooms, Social Services of the
Municipality of Residence, Municipality Immigrants Bureau of Artogne, Bienno,
Cedegolo, Darfo BT, Esine, Malegno, Pisogne.
Police Office of Brescia (tel. 030 2319125 hours: 9-12) for the appointment in order
to request the residence permit for pregnant women.

MATERIAL AND ECONOMIC AID: If you don’ t take advantage of these
aids as worker woman and also if you are a foreigner with permit for a long
period residence (Residence Card) or politic refugee without Residence Card,
you can obtain the Maternity Allowance from the INPS or Municipality of
residence.
If you thought needing also material aid for you and your baby (rent expenses,
kindergarten, nappies, prams etc.), you can address to:
the Social Services of your Municipality of residence or to the Association ‘Centro
Aiuto alla Vita’ (Pisogne), Association “Anch’io” of the Caritas Darfo, Lodging
Community “Casa Giona” (Breno), the ‘Pro Familia’ Institute (Breno).
PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL ASSISTANCE: You can obtain social
and psychological help whenever you have necessity by addressing to the ASL
Family Consulting Rooms.
OBSTETRICAL ASSISTANCE: the Pregnancy Bureau of the ASL Family
Consulting Rooms, permit you to have an adequate assistance during your
pregnancy, also with obstetrician home visits during the first period after
childbirth, if you need aid and advices.
All consultations and visits at the ‘ASL di Vallecamonica-Sebino’ Family
Consulting Rooms , are free during pregnancy.

IF YOU CAN’T KEEP BABY WITH YOURSELF…
If you are in serious troubles, you believe don’t succeed in, no fear, you are not
alone.
If you decide to complete pregnancy, Italian Law permit you to bear in
a Public Hospital, in safe and privacy conditions, without denouncing your
name.
If you can’t keep baby with yourself, you have right don’t recognize him and
let him in hospital. This is not an offence and it don’t cause signalizing , also
if you are clandestine.
In this way you can guarantee to baby the right of growing in an adoptive
family, that takes care of him with love and protection.
These rights are free.
But you must know that is a definitive choice, from which you can return.
In any case it’s always important to address to the ASL Family Consulting Rooms or
Volunteers Associations, in order to obtain advices, helps, and punctual information
on the current Laws.
You can also phone at Service ‘Madre Segreta’ for the Guardianship and Protection of
pregnant women, at free number 800 400400, always available and free.

IF YOU DECIDE TO INTERRUPT PREGNANCY…
If for your health, social, family or economic conditions,
the prosecution of pregnancy, birth or maternity were dangerous for your
physic and psychical health,
Italian Laws give you the right to decide pregnancy interruption.
How much time have you to decide?
The Act n.194/78 permits you to interrupt pregnancy during the first 90
days (12 weeks); please remember there are steps, according to the Law, that
are necessaries for protocol, so it’s important to inform yourself as soon as
possible.

In order to obtain the Certificate for pregnancy interruption you can free address to the
ASL Family Consulting Rooms, or to the “Punto Donna” in the Esine Hospital (tel.
0364 369043), on Monday and Friday from 9.00a.m. to 12.00p.m. and Wednesday
from 14.00p.m. to 17.00p.m., or to every Doctor.
Please remember you have to bring an identification document and the Regional Card
of Services.

If you are a minor
The Law allows you to stop an unwished pregnancy also if you are a minor,
with parent’s previous consent.
In case of serious motivations that forbid parent’s involvement, or they refuse
to give consent or give it an opposite opinion, the Family Consulting Rooms
Bureau of the ASL, within seven days from your request, will send at the
charged Tutelary Judge a psyco-social report, with a personal advise.
The Tutelary Judge, within five days, will establish a talk with you and according
to your wish, reasons and the psyco-social report, can authorize you, with an
unbreakable Act, to decide the voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
If you are a foreigner
The Law says that you can interrupt pregnancy also if you don’t have the
residence permit, nobody can signal you to the police or hold.
Remember that you can address to the Family Consultation Rooms of the
ASL or Public Hospitals in order to obtain the certification and demand the
intervention also if you don’t have the Regional Card of Services or the STP
Code (Stranieri Temporaneamente Presenti – Foreigners temporary presents).
