ENTE MODA ITALIA SHOWCASES WOMEN’S FASHION
AT THE LATEST EDITION OF “FASHION COTERIE”
IN NEW YORK FROM 17 – 19 SEPTEMBER
16 ITALIAN BRANDS FEATURED IN THE SPECIAL “ITALIAN FASHION” AREA
THE FIGURES CONFIRM THE GROWTH OF THE US MARKET
Fashion Coterie, the Enk International fair dedicated to women’s fashion, opens in New York
from Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 September 2013 in the sophisticated setting of the Jacob
Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. And once again the special “Italian Fashion” project,
captained by Ente Moda Italia, will be one of the main protagonists of the event.
At the New York event that is held concomitantly with Sole Commerce – the big footwear fair – EMI
will present 16 women’s fashion collections for spring/summer 2014 produced by a group of
makers of excellence in Italian women’s fashion.
“Once again Fashion Coterie offers small and medium-sized Italian businesses a unique
opportunity to present their new collections and latest fashion projects to the US market” says
Antonio Gavazzeni, president of EMI. “The data on Made in Italy exports to the U.S. – supplied
by SMI-Sistema Moda Italia – for the first six months of 2013 show very good growth, with some
product typologies recording double digit increases. This trend encourages us to continue our
promotional activities for Italian fashion in the United States and, combined with the ongoing
appreciation for Italian style that we have encountered at Fashion Coterie from US retail
representatives – both buyers and members of the trade, especially those on the East Coast – it
also gives us hope for a further expansion of our companies’ market share”.
“It is important to attend events like Fashion Coterie”, adds Alberto Scaccioni, CEO of EMI, “which
offers a regular showcase that Italian companies can use to present their products and expand
their network of contacts, thanks to the 18,000 or so visitors made up of specialist members of the
trade and top buyers, who are increasingly interested in investing in Italian fashion. That is why we
at Ente Moda Italia, along with our partners at Sistema Moda Italia, make sure we are present at all
the most important international fairs as this is crucial for increasing the exports of Made in Italy
businesses and tackling the challenges of the global economy”.
The brands participating at “Italian Fashion at Coterie”, inside the Jacob Javits Center, in an
area of around 250 square meters, are:
_ in the Contemporary section: Amina Rubinacci, Angela Caputi Giuggiù, Angela D Milano, Artico, Beatrice B.-Sfizio, Gimo’s, Gioia Manuli, Rossopuro, To Be Think and Wear and Tricot
