THEY COULDN’T GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION Your attention is drawn to the following actions that could compromise the characteristics of the product: • Read and retain the instructions which follow. • Follow all indications and instructions given on the device. • Make sure that the surface on which the device rests is stable. If it is not, the device could fall, seriously damaging it. • Make sure that the device rests on a hard (non-padded) surface and that there is sufi cient ventilation. • When positioning the device, make sure cables do not get damaged. • Use the type of electrical power supply indicated on the device label. If uncertain, contact your dealer. • Make sure the electrical system that supplies power to the device is equipped with a ground wire and is protected by a differential switch. • Do not block the ventilation openings. • Do not insert objects inside the device as this could cause short-circuiting or damage components that could jeopardize printer functioning. • Do not carry out repairs on the device yourself, except for the normal maintenance operations given in the user manual. • Make sure that there is an easily-accessible outlet with a capacity of no less than 10A closely to where the device is to be installed. • Periodically perform scheduled maintenance on the device to avoid dirt build-up that could compromise the correct, safe operation of the unit. • Before any type of work is done on the machine, disconnect the power supply. • Do not touch the head heating line with bare hands or metal objects. Do not perform any operation inside the printer immediately after printing because the head and motor tend to become very hot. REPRODUCE THE DESCRIBED MODEL FAITHFULLY. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, THE INFORMATION GIVEN IN THIS MANUAL ARE REFERRED TO ALL MODELS IN PRODUCTION AT THE ISSUE DATE OF THIS DOCUMENT. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, refer to the instructions of your country for the disposal of these products. • Do not dispose of this equipment as miscellaneous solid municipal waste, but arrange to have it collected separately. • The re-use or correct recycling of the electronic and electrical equipment (EEE) is important in order to protect the environment and the wellbeing of humans. • In accordance with European Directive WEEE 2002/96/EC, special collection points are available to which to deliver waste electrical and electronic equipment and the equipment can also be handed over to a distributor at the moment of purchasing a new equivalent type. • The public administration and producers of electrical and electronic equipment are involved in facilitating the processes of the re-use and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment through the organisation of collection activities and the use of appropriate planning arrangements. • Unauthorised disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment is punishable by law with the appropriate penalties. The format used for this manual improves use of natural resources reducing the quantity of necessary paper to print this copy. The documents can be sent via WiFi to the docking station or to the system consisting of the WiFi dongle connected to the printer. The tablet connects to a single printer for your tax documents and is capable of connect to multiple printers for the production of non-tax documents (eg kitchen orders or invoices). Tablet WiFi Dongle Docking station See Chapter 2 See Chapter 3 See Chapter 3 7 8 2 CONFIGURING WI-FI DONGLE AND PRINTER 2.1 Introduction This device allows communication between the tablet and the printer via wii communication. USB Port Connect a printer to print from tablet. LAN/WAN Port Connect a PC to conigure the WiFi dongle. Connect a printer to print from tablet. LAN/WAN port Power supply port USB port Power supply port Connect to the power adapter included. POINT OF SALES WITH 1 PRINTER POINT OF SALES WITH TWO OR MORE PRINTERS If the tablet for the point of sales is used with a single printer, the WiFi dongle does not require coniguration but can be connected directly to the printer (see paragraph 2.3). It is recommended to protect the WiFi network with password. If the tablet for the point of sales is used with two or more printers, each WiFi dongle have to be conigured properly (see paragraph 2.2). PRESET IP 192.168.1.254 PRESET IP 192.168.1.254 AD HOC CONFIGURATION IS NEEDED AD HOC CONFIGURATION IS NEEDED 9 2.2 Coniguring the WiFi dongle The coniguration of the WiFi dongles in a point of sale with two or more printers provides for the mode ‘ACCESS POINT’ (default mode) for a single device while the remaining devices will need to be conigured in ‘CLIENT’ mode. Preset mode AP (Access Point) CLIENT mode The coniguration of the WiFi dongle in CLIENT mode is performed with a PC. 1. Connect the WiFi dognle to the PC by following the connection diagram shown in fugure. ETHERNET PORT ON PC 10 CLIENT mode 2. Launch Web browser on your PC and enter the IP address of the access point (default. 192.168.1.254). Enter authentication credentials to access the coniguration panel. Web browser http://192.168.1.254 Username: admin Password: admin 3. Select the page ‘OPERATON MODE’, set the operating mode as CLIENT and click on ‘APPLY CHANGE’. Wait 90 seconds for reboot. 11 4. Repeat the operations described in step 2 and click “NEXT”. 5. Click on “SITE SURVEY” to search networks 12 6. Select the network created by the dongle being used as an access point and click “NEXT”. 7. Select the type of encryption and the password of the network created by the dongle being used as an access point and click “FINISH”. Wait 90 secons for reboot. 13 8. Repeat the operations described in step 2 and click “TCP/IP Settings > LAN Interface”. Change IP ADDRESS and SUBNET MASK properly. In a point of sales with two or more printers each access point must have a unique ID. Click ‘APPLY CHANGE’ and wait 20 secons for reboot. 9. Repeat the operations described in step 2 and click “MANAGEMENT > USB PRINTER”. Enable the “Enable USB Printer” and set the port to “9100”. Click on the button ‘APPLY CHANGE’. 10. Repeat the steps above for all the ‘CLIENT’ dongles in use in the system. 11. Proceed to connect the printer following the instructions provided in the next paragraph. 14 2.3 Coniguring the printer to be connected to the dongle 1. Connect the printer to the PC via USB connection or Ethernet connection. 2. Launch the “Fiscal Suite” service software from the PC (available at www.custom.biz - registered users only). 3. Click on ‘CePOS XG’: the list. Look the label on the bottom for the iscal serial number of the device. Selecting the connection via USB Detect printers connected via USB 4. Click on ‘Open Database on Printer’: Selecting the connection via Ethernet Printers detected on the network (look the label on the bottom for the fiscal serial number of the device) Detect printers connected via Ethernet 6. Select the printer and click ‘OK’. 7. Click the button ‘Database Options’: 5. Select from the panel, the type of connection to the printer (USB or Ethernet). • • With USB connection, the disk of the device is automatically detected (FLASH DRIVE), if this is not the case click on the button ‘Search’. With an Ethernet connection, click on the button ‘Search’ to detect printers (identiied by the iscal serial number) and select the desired device from 15 8. In the options panel: a. Set all the ports conigured as ‘PC CONTROL’ to ‘NO DEVICE’. b. Set the port to which you plan to connect the dongle as ‘PC CONTROL’ (USB or Ethernet). c. Set the protocol as ‘CUSTOM DLL’. Set ‘PC CONTROL’ if you intend to connect the dongle to this port Set ‘PC CONTROL’ if you intend to connect the dongle to this port Set ‘CUSTOM DLL’ 9. If you plan to connect the dongle to the printer via USB connection jump to the next step, if you plan to connect the dongle to the printer via Ethernet connection click on the ‘Network Settings’. In the settings panel: a. Select the page ‘network addresses of the printer’’ and disable the use of DHCP server. b. Assign the printer an IP address and subnet mask compatible with the settings of the WiFi dongle you are connecting. c. 16 DHCP server disabled Assign getway as the IP address of the WiFi dongle you are connecting. The IP address is displayed in the coniguration panel of the dongle (see paragraph 2.2). Set an approprate IP ADDRESS and SUBNET MASK Set the IP address of the access point (default 192.168.1.254) 10. Click on ‘Save Database on Printer’: 11. Close the ‘Fiscal Suite’ service software, unplug the printer from the PC 12. Connect the WiFi diongle to the printer by following the connection diagram shown in igure. 13. Set up your tablet (see Chapter 3). USB PORT ON PRINTER ETHERNET PORT ON PRINTER 17 18 3 CONFIGURING THE TABLET AND CUDROID 3.1 Installing the current version of CuDroid software SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: • Original device “Custom S.p.A.” with Android OS 4.0 or 4.1. • Generic device with Android OS 4.0 or 4.1 (running in demo mode) • Resolution 1280x800 Automatic installation from Play Store 1 3 CUDROID Type in "CUDROID" in the search box. Tap the APPS icon to view the list of apps. 4 2 INSTALL Play Store Launch PLAY STORE app. CuDroid Install the app. 19 Manual installation with CuDroid.apk 1 3 Appinstaller CuDroid.apk Download the app CuDroid.apk from the DOWNLOAD area of www.custom.biz.
