My Amazing Home!
Hi! My name’s Jonathon Davison and I live in Shropshire in the north-west of England. I live in a _de_t_a_c_h_e_d_
house with my family. Our house is a really green home! It (1)

friendly products. My dad is an architect so he designed the house himself
and then a local company built it.

to provide electricity and hot water. Photovoltaic cells convert the light from the sun into electricity.
It’s amazing! When I switch on the light in my bedroom I always think about how amazing the sun is!
My dad also designed some big tanks for our house.

Our house took two years to build. We’ve got a small front garden and a big back garden where my mum grows
vegetables. At the moment, she’s growing carrots and potatoes and she’s trying to grow some tomatoes too!
She took up gardening about three years ago because she says that it helps her relax. We’ve also got some

bins in our back garden where we separate plastic, glass
and paper rubbish. We’re a really environmentally friendly family!
