Labor Day at the Cinque Terre
01-05 September 2011
The “Cinque Terre” is World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO site. Five villages, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Coniglia,
Vernazza, Monterosso overlooking the sea, balance precariously on the last fingertips of land jutting out from the
continental landmass before it definitively sinks into the sea. Centuries of work by past generations has transformed
this rugged territory into a landscape of extraordinary beauty. The small town life of these villages is still tangible
today, with typical donkey rides and cheap local wines in old taverns. Boat rides, delicious typical dishes, breathtaking
views, and more await you during your trip to what is often described by many world travelers as “paradise on earth.”

Cavi di Lavagna – Genova – Portofino – Cavi di Lavagna
After breakfast, departure for the Port of Genoa (Genova), one of the busiest ports in Italy
and birthplace of Christopher Columbus and Paganini, and as Charles Dickens remarked
in 1844 “a city of the strangest contrasts.” Our local guide will take us for a walk in
Genoa’s historical center, one of the biggest in Europe, where we’ll admire the
Renaissance palaces, grand 19th century boulevards and gilded Baroque churches that
are squeezed alongside, and on top of, a warren of steep medieval streets. After the
guided tour, you will have free time for lunch and to visit Italy’s largest aquarium. In the
afternoon, we will depart from Genoa to Santa Margherita Ligure, where we will board our
ferry boat to Portofino, famous around the world for its views from the harbor and the
surrounding beaches. In fact, there is full scale replica in authentic detail of this port at the
Portofino Bay Resort at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida and served as inspiration for
the Tokyo DisneySea harbor in Japan. Spend the afternoon experiencing the layback
lifestyle of the town, do some shopping and browsing through its boutiques, walk on the
beach, and take it all in! This exquisite town will provide an unforgettable time.
In the evening, return to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.
03-Sept-2011
Cavi di Lavagna – Cinque Terre – Cavi di Lavagna
After breakfast, departure for La Spezia where we will cruise to the Cinque Terre.
On this day, you will have the opportunity to visit the five villages that gave its
name to this region: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Coniglia, Vernazza and
Monterosso, overlooking the sea. We will be travelling by boat to the different
towns, which will reward you with incredible views of this unique area.
After this exciting day of exploration, return to the Hotel for dinner & overnight.
04-Sept-2011
Cavi di Lavagna – Sarzana – Naples
After breakfast, we’ll proceed with the check-out from the hotel and departure for
Sarzana. This town, the second largest city in La Spezia province, offers
incredible picture taking opportunities in its fascinating squares, alleys, churches
and monuments, antique shops and cafes. Before the departure to Naples,
explore the local cuisine at any of its charming restaurants.
After lunch, we will then depart from Sarzana and start our return to Naples.
Our arrival to Naples is expected around 2400/0100*.
