ALGERIAN VTMIS PROJECT – STAFFING REQUIREMENTS
CONTEXT
The Algerian VTMIS project (cost estimated > 160 Million euro) has the goal to design and
implement an integrated system for control and monitoring of the maritime and port security and
safety and the automatic data exchange, able to cover beyond 1,200 km of coast and 11 Algerian
commercial ports.
The Algerian Ministry of Transport awarded to ASTER as leader of a Consortium with the Spanish
company ISDEFE, the contract for the control and supervision of the implementation works of the
Algerian VTMIS technological infrastructure.
The infrastructure will consist of networks of radar sensors, AIS transponders, radios and optical
sensors distributed along the coasts and in the port areas, controlled by command and control
systems connected to each other in real time to build a nation-wide maritime awareness distributed
network.
The planning of the project envisages

Tasks
Resident Team Leader, support the Customer for project management, primary interfaces with the
staff of the integrator on site, coordination of local staff, technical interface towards the Customer
on site, Management of local subcontractors. Technical assistance to the Customer, specialist
support, coordination and supervision of the activities of supplies verification, supervision of civil
works & plants installations, systems integration and validation tests, commissioning and final
acceptance.

VTMIS / execution of the activities of a) controls documents of project for the aspects VTS, b)

centres VTMIS and network and the activities of integration, d) validation at sites (component
Control centre VTS) and pre-commissioning and final acceptance of the component Control Centre
VTS.

works and of the electric/ plumbing/ HVAC plants d) assistance to the validation of sites, precommissioning and final acceptance of the infrastructures/civil works component.
