news release VODAFONE LAUNCHES INFAMIGLIA TO HELP PARENTS AND KIDS GET TO GRIPS WITH TECHNOLOGY The launch of the infamiglia.vodafone.it portal and the Posta con la testa video with Luca and Paolo Rome, 23 March 2011 – Vodafone Italia announces the launch of the Infamiglia project, a guide for parents, grandparents and kids designed to help them make better and more responsible use of the internet, mobile phones and new technologies. The survey “Children and New Media” carried out by People in collaboration with Terres des Homes Italia, a non-profit organisation, reveals the existence of a “generation gap” between kids (aged 8-13), who are very skilled in the use of the new technologies, and their parents, only 18% of whom feel at ease in handling their children’s relationship with new media. Vodafone Italia has decided to make a real contribution towards bridging this gap through a series of initiatives for both sides of the generation gap. On the infamiglia.vodafone.it portal parents and grandparents will find all the information they need to get to know and use the new technologies and mobile phones. The InFamiglia portal offers an opportunity to discuss and share individual experiences and to get the opinion of a team of experts, who will tackle subjects linked to parenthood and technology and provide in-depth analysis of the principal issues linked to the use of new media. The web will also be used to communicate with kids, through videos and a forum in which they can exchange opinions and experiences. Posta con la testa, featuring Luca and Paolo, is the first of these videos dedicated to the responsible use of new media. “Internet and the new technologies represent a growth opportunity for the new generations. We need to intervene to enable them to make proper use of new media and exploit its potential to the full. We believe that the best way to attain this goal is to bridge the gap between parents/grandparents and children/grandchildren in understanding and handling the new technologies,” says Manlio Costantini, Head of Costumer Operations at Vodafone Italia. “We are launching the www.infamiglia.vodafone.it portal with the aim of providing a useful tool and triggering discussion on the website. We will soon be launching other initiatives to show how close we are to our customers”.
