i può dire senza timori di smentite
che la “spiaggia rosa” di Budelli è
un simbolo dell’Italia più bella, preziosa, inimitabile. Il miracoloso processo biochimico che ha prodotto nei millenni l’impalpabile unicità tattile e cromatica di
quella sabbia senza eguali è un patrimonio
inestimabile, da conservare con tutte le
forze, come la Cappella degli Scrovegni o la
Cappella Sistina. Un capolavoro della natura bagnato da un mare di incredibile limpidezza, trasparente, dai colori cangianti, dai
fondali che sono lì, perfettamente distinti in
tutte le loro forme sotto i tuoi occhi. Un gioiello tra i gioielli dell’arcipelago della Maddalena che fortunatamente l’Ente Parco
Nazionale omonimo sta adeguatamente
tutelando per scongiurare ogni rischio di
degrado. Quella manciata di isole poste al
vertice nord-orientale della Sardegna nelle

Bocche di Bonifacio sono state abitate già in
epoca preistorica, erano note ai Romani,
battute dai Saraceni e sicuro approdo per le
navi pisane prima di sprofondare in un
periodo di abbandono e spopolamento. Nel
1767 i Piemontesi fecero occupare l’arcipelago da un distaccamento militare; nel 1770
sorgeva il primo centro abitato e tre anni
dopo la prima roccaforte militare. La Maddalena divenne base strategica della Marina
militare nel 1887. In località La Ricciolina è
interessante il Museo di Archeologia Navale
“Nino Lamboglia” che espone reperti di tanti
naufragi antichi. Non dimentichiamo naturalmente Garibaldi e la sua Caprera, raggiungibile dalla Maddalena attraverso la
Diga della Moneta lunga 600 metri, dove
l’“eroe dei due mondi” ha trascorso gli ultimi 26 anni della sua vita a partire dal 1855
e dove resta, da visitare, la sua casa-museo
piena di cimeli della sua straordinaria esistenza. Ma l’arcipelago è soprattutto la fantastica natura che ha conservato una sostanziale condizione di intatta autenticità sia nel
contesto terrestre (le isole di Spargi, Budelli,
Razzoli, Spargiotto, Barrettini, Mortorio e
Nibani) sia soprattutto marino e costituisce
un positivo esempio di tutela di un sistema
costiero che si estende per oltre 180 km. A
parte l’isola di La Maddalena (dove sorge la
cittadina omonima), l’agglomerato di Stagnali a Caprera e circa 20 abitazioni in una
ristretta area di Santa Maria abitate solo nel
periodo estivo, l’arcipelago è del tutto disabitato e ha conservato fondamentalmente
l’assetto risalente a oltre due secoli or sono,

W
e can surely assert that the ‘pinky beach’
in Budelli is a true emblem of the our
enchanting, precious and outstanding Italy. The
inexplicable biochemical process that has
created this unique sand, characterised by
impalpability and chromatic properties,
represents an outstanding heritage to be
vigorously preserved as much as the Scrovegni
Chapel or the Sistine Chapel. A natural
masterpiece where an incredibly transparent,
changing and precious sea laps its shores and
the beautiful seabed gives a unique scenario. It
is a jewel among the jewels in the Maddalena
Archipelago fortunately safeguarded by the
National Parks Board to avoid any possible
decay. The group of islands located north-east
Sardinia in the Bocche di Bonifacio have
already been inhabited during the prehistoric
era, were popular among the Romans, defeated
by the Saracens and safe landing place for the
ships from Pisa before they fell in a long period
of abandon and depopulation.
In 1767 the people from Piedmont had the
archipelago occupied by the military
detachment; in 1770 the first build-up area
arose and three years later the first defensive
stronghold was built. La Maddalena became the
strategic base for the Navy in 1887. In La
Ricciolina you can have the chance to visit the
interesting Navy Archaeological Museum ‘Nino
Lamboglia’ that exhibits the remains of ancient
shipwrecks. We also mention Garibaldi and his
Caprera, reachable from La Maddalena through
the 600mt long Diga della Moneta. Here the
hero of the two worlds spent the last 26 years of
his life from 1855. Moreover his house-museum
displaying the relics of his extraordinary
resistance is definitely worth visiting.
The archipelago means an outstanding nature
that has held its features both inland (Spargi,
Budelli, Razzoli, Spargiotto, Barrettini, Mortorio
and Nibani islands) and in its sea. It represents
a significant example of preservation on a
coastal system that stretches for over 180km.
Apart from the Maddalena Island (where the
homonymous city arises) the group of Stagnati
and Caprera and an average of 20 dwellings in
a limited area in Santa Maria seasonally
inhabited during the summer, the rest of the
archipelago is completely uninhabited and
presents the same features of two centuries ago

flora, mare, vita subacquea, anche grazie
alla sua collocazione geografica nello stretto
di Bonifacio, punto di divisione e raccordo
del più vasto sistema insulare sardo-corso.
Nel Mediterraneo non esistono altri sistemi
insulari a dominante cristallina caratterizzati
dalla vicinanza tra le diverse isole separate
da canali marini con bassi fondali. L’area
maggiormente simile e in contiguità geografica è rappresentata dall’arcipelago di
Lavezzi che nel futuro potrebbe divenire
patrimonio protetto con l’istituzione del Parco
internazionale delle Bocche di Bonifacio.

as The Portolano dell’Albini witnessed in the
early 19th century. the archipelago is composed
of over 60 islands and small isles having granite
and schist features. It represents a complex
where sea and land are strongly connected
giving one of the most enchanting landscapes of
the Planet thanks to their morphology,
vegetation, sea, underwater treasures, and
thanks to its geographic location in the
Bonifacio Channel that denotes both a division
and linking point of the wider island complex of
Corsica-Sardinia. In the whole Mediterranean
sea there are no other insular systems
dominated by the same crystal clear waters and
characterised by the proximity of various islands
separated by sea channels and shallow seabed.
The most geographically similar area is the
Lavezzi Archipelago. In the near future it could
be included in the protected area of the
international reserve of the Bocche di Bonifacio.

Immersed in the greenery of Garibardi’s olive groves and the Mediterranean maquis, a short distance
from the hero’s house, there is the only agriturismo of the archipelago, founded by Ziu Bainzu Corda
and his wife Maria Peppa, in the places dedicated to sheep-farming and agriculture. Authentic products, sheep milk cheeses, homemade sweets, lamb, Sardinian porcetto and other delicacies.

camera + scooter/Quad, o camera + barca dove il cliente ha a disposizione per tutto il soggiorno un’imbarcazione che può condurre lui stesso (sono tutte guidabili senza patente)
mentre il personale dell'Hotel si preoccupa di rifornirle e prepararle per il giorno dopo.

mondo che giungono qui per gustare quella che definiscono come la massima espressione gastronomica che questo prelibato crostaceo può raggiungere. Sulla scia della
Grotta è nata “L’Ottava isola”: un ristorante galleggiante raggiungibile solo in barca su cui
si gusta una cucina di livello. Il pesce arriva direttamente dai pescherecci, l’arredamento
