IL DIRETTORE
VISTO lo Statuto di IMT Alti Studi Lucca, emanato con Decreto n. 01089(52).I.2.06.03.08 e pubblicato in
Gazzetta Ufficiale Serie Generale n. 80 del 4 aprile 2008;
CONSIDERATA la Policy per il “Reclutamento dei Professori di Ruolo” e in particolare il ruolo affidato al
direttore della scuola di condurre lo scouting internazionale tramite l’apertura di una call per manifestazioni
di interesse divulgata a livello internazionale e considerato altresì il compito del Direttore di predisporre il
piano di reclutamento, dopo la fase di analisi delle manifestazioni di interesse pervenute, da sottoporre
all’approvazione del Consiglio Direttivo per l’avvio delle procedure di reclutamento;
CONSIDERATO l’avvio della seconda fase di Scouting Internazionale per posizioni tenured da concludersi in
data 30 agosto 2011;
VISTO IL PROFILO bandito nella fase suddetta e nel dettaglio:
Area: Computer Science, Mathematical Statistics, Machine Learning, Large Scale Data Mining
We will consider highly qualified candidates working at the intersection between computer science, physics,
information theory, and mathematics, who combine a strong theoretical background with an orientation
towards research on processing huge amounts of complex data in the analysis of socio economic, technical,
or biological. Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications. They
should have demonstrated remarkable ability in leading research groups, as well as experience in
conducting/coordinating international projects. Preference will be given to candidates active at the
intersection between algorithms, theory and applications, in the following fields: analysis and modeling of
massive data structures; graph theory and random structures; analysis and modeling of complex networks;
machine learning, large scale data mining.
