AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA DOC CLASSICO CASTELROTTO San Pietro in Cariano è il comune che chiude a sud la Valpolicella Classica e confina a nord con i Lessini. Pur essendo prevalentemente pianeggiante presenta alcuni rilievi collinari, il più impor tante dei quali è Castelrotto (172 metri s.l.m.). Terreno di medio impasto, sabbioso-alluvionale, posto coltri detritiche dei versanti. Inerbimento del vigneto. Assenza di irrigazione ar tificiale. Sistema di allevamento: pergola veronese. Età delle viti in produzione: 9 anni. Carico di gemme per ceppo: 16/18. Densità di impianto: 3.300 viti per ettaro. South-facing vineyard with vines planted in east-west rows. Soil type: medium texture, sandy alluvial deposits with stony clay overlaying limestone. Grass sward between vines. No artificial irrigation. Training system: Veronese pergola. Age of vines in production: 9 years. Buds per vine: 16/18. Planting density: 3,300 vines per hectare. Yield per hectare: 20 hl.
