AMBIENTALE
Study of sensors applicable in museums and restoration for the morphological analysis,
rheological and conservation of artifacts.
In this context, I held the following monitoring through monitoring systems designed by me:
1) Analysis of the mechanical stress by load cells before and during the restoration of the Pietà
by Carlo Crivelli;
2) Analysis of the vibrations of the Perseo during the making of the anti-vibration platform
3) Structural analysis using strain gauges on Coat of Arms of Cortile della Pigna
4) Analysis of the shocks during shipment of Augustus of Prima Porta
5) Environmental analysis of the Sistine Chapel
6) Analysis microclimate during aging tests of pigments by Osram lamps

Description: In the academic year 2014/2015 is established and activated the Course of
International Master's degree in Methods, Materials and Technologies for Cultural Heritage,
promoted and developed by the Department of Science - Roma Tre University in collaboration
with the Cabinet Scientific Vatican Museums (SCV). Director of the Master is prof. Maurizio
Caciotta and Co-Director Professor. Ulderico Santamaria, under the patronage of the Pontifical
Council for Culture.
The purpose of the master will be the study of scientific methods and instrumentation for the
restoration, preservation, enhancement, ensuring access to cultural heritage, even taking into
account the environment in which they are allocated.
