a cinquième des 6 épreuves que compte la WSK cette saison a marqué le retour en terre italienne de cette série internationale. La piste de Sarno recevait
les 185 concurrents des catégories KF2, KF3 et KZ2. C’était aussi l’occasion
de retrouver une météo favorable avec des conditions estivales. Les titres ne
sont pas encore tous distribués et la compétition a été redoutable sur les 1700 m du
très long circuit international de Sarno.
Partenaire de la WSK depuis la manche d’Angerville, la Fondation Julie Tonelli pour l’Enfance fait partie du paysage de la série. Des banderoles roses ornent la piste, on croise des
T-shirts Julie dans tous les recoins du paddock et des tribunes, les bracelets roses habillent
les bras bronzés et les stickers trouvent logiquement leur place sur les carrosserie.
Brandon Maïsano, sur son Intrepid – TM, a éclipsé la concurrence en KF3. Il réalise un
festival dimanche en remportant coup sur coup préfinale et finale. C’est une superbe victoire
pour Intrepid France et le team LM Karting. Brandon consolide ainsi sa première place au
classement provisoire du championnat, devant Nyck De Vries (Zanardi - XTR). Le petit Hollandais volant a encore convaincu en reprenant en manche le terrain perdu au chrono. Le
pilote De Vries Competition s’est bien bagarré pour prendre la troisième place dans chacune
des deux courses dominicales. Le Finlandais Aaro Vainio (Maranello – Maxter) est passé
tout prêt d’un grand résultat. Il doit se contenter d’une belle remontée jusqu’à la 6ème position en course.
Les autres pilotes Tonelli de la KF3 ne passent pas en finale. Kevin Petit (F – Birel – TM)
poursuit son apprentissage chez Paul Lemmens (GKS) avec un mordant qui fait toujours
plaisir à voir. Le Suédois Adam Skargard sur un TonyKart - XTR du Ward Racing a souffert
de partir au chrono sur une piste peu véloce. Dans le coup samedi, le Kosmic – Vortex
officiel du Belge Guillaume De Ridder ne retrouve pas ses marques le lendemain. Enfin, le
Russe de chez Maranello, Maxim Zimin, échoue à deux places près lors du repêchage.
James Thorp (Maranello – Maxter) réalise un carton plein dans les deux courses KF2.
Meilleur chrono, il est victime d’une casse dans une manche, mais remonte comme un avion
en préfinale avant de s’adjuger également la finale. Il en profite pour faire un bond au classement. Lui aussi sur un Maranello officiel, Giaguaro Nero a réussi une grande remontée en
préfinale avec une progression de 12 places. Le Polonais Karol Basz, pilote Birel – Parilla
du team MGM, n’a malheureusement pas pu boucler un seul tour en finale par suite d’un
accrochage.
Belle prestation de Jonathan Thonon (CRG/Maxter) en KZ2, qui se maintient en deuxième
place au classement provisoire après avoir fait 3ème puis 2ème dans les deux courses. Le discret Manuel Renaudie (Gillard/SGM) réalise
une très belle saison en 125 à boîte de vitesses chez PDB. Il aligne des performances remarquables depuis le début de l’année. A Sarno,
une pénalité de 10’’ l’a retardé en préfinale et contraint à remonter de la 22ème à la 9ème en finale. L’expérimenté Alessandro Piccini a
subi deux abandons : l’un en manche, l’autre en finale. Il pointe cependant en 6ème position au général. Thomas Mich n’a pas pu défendre toutes ses chances avec un châssis pas tout à fait adapté à la situation. Davide Forè (Maranello/Maxter), venu tâter du KZ en vue
de la Coupe du Monde, monte sur la 3ème marche du podium. Le jeune gentleman driver Pierre Ragues délaisse son volant de Sport
Protoype dès qu’il en a l’occasion pour le plaisir de piloter en karting. Enfin, l’espoir belge Benjamin Bailly affiche une belle progression
dans une catégorie qu’il découvre. Il prend la 8ème place en finale.

he fifth of the six WSK races of this season has seen the return of this
international series to Italy. The Sarno racetrack hosted the 185 pilots of
categories KF2, KF3 and KZ2, who, on the occasion, met with favourable
weather again, and summer conditions. The titles have not all been awarded and the competition has been quite uncertain all along the 1700 m of the very
long international circuit in Sarno.
A WSK partner since the race of Angerville, «Fondation Julie Tonelli pour l’Enfance» is now
part of the landscape of the series. Pink banners decorate the racetrack, one can meet
Julie T-shirts in every corner of the paddock and stands, pink bracelets adorn tanned arms,
and obviously the stickers find their place on the karts.
Brandon Maïsano, on his Intrepid – TM, has overshadowed his competitors in KF3. On
Sunday he even succeeded in winning both the prefinal and the final. It is an amazing
victory for Intrepid France and the team LM Karting. Brandon thus holds his first place in
the provisional ranking of the championship, before Nyck De Vries (Zanardi - XTR). The
young flying Dutch has been convincing once again and has made up for the places lost
in the timed practice. The pilot of De Vries Competition has battled hard to gain the third
place in each of the two Sunday races. The Finnish pilot Aaro Vainio (Maranello – Maxter)
has got very close to a great result. He must settle with a spectacular recovery up to the
6th place in the race.
The other Tonelli pilots of KF3 are out of the final. Kevin Petit (F – Birel – TM) continues his
training with Paul Lemmens (GKS) with a grit that is always a pleasure to see. The Swedish Adam Skargard on a TonyKart - XTR of Ward Racing has suffered the start of a timed
practice on a slow circuit. In great shape on Saturday, the official Kosmic – Vortex of the
Belgian Guillaume De Ridder is not at the same level the day after. Finally, the Russian of
Maranello, Maxim Zimin, fails to qualify by two places despite the repechage.
James Thorp (Maranello – Maxter) has won the two KF2 races. Best in the timed practice,
he is the victim of a failure in a heat, but he makes a fast recover in prefinal before securing
the final as well, thus climbing up the ranking. On an official Maranello as well, Giaguaro
Nero has succeeded in a great recovery in prefinal and has gained 12 places. The Polish
Karol Basz, pilot of Birel – Parilla of the MGM team, unfortunately has not been able to end
one lap in the final, owing to an accident.
Good performance of Jonathan Thonon (CRG/Maxter) in KZ2, who holds his second place
in the provisional ranking after ending 3rd then 2nd in the two races. Manuel Renaudie
(Gillard/SGM) marks a very good season in 125 cc gearbox with PDB. He has stricken a series of remarkable performances since the
beginning of the year. In Sarno, a 10-second penalty caused him a delay in the prefinal and forced him to recover from 22nd to 9th in
the final. The experienced Alessandro Piccini was forced to withdraw twice: once in the heat, then in the final. Despite this he ranks
6th overall. Thomas Mich has not been able to express his full potential with a chassis that was not up to the situation. Davide Forè
(Maranello/Maxter), testing the KZ ground in view of the World Cup, climbs the 3rd step of the podium. The young gentleman driver
Pierre Ragues deserts his Sport Protoype wheel as soon as he has the opportunity of enjoying a kart. Finally, the Belgian promising
pilot Benjamin Bailly shows a remarkable progression in a category that he is just discovering. He conquers the 8th place in the final.

a quinta delle sei prove della WSK di questa stagione ha segnato il ritorno in
Italia di questa serie internazionale. La pista di Sarno ha accolto i 185 concorrenti delle categorie KF2, KF3 e KZ2. È stata anche l’occasione per ritrovare
condizioni meteo favorevoli decisamente estive. Finora non tutti i titoli sono
stati assegnati e la competizione è stata molto accesa sui 1700 m. del lungo circuito
internazionale di Sarno.
Partner della WSK dalla gara di Angerville, la Fondazione per l’Infanzia Julie Tonelli fa ormai
parte del parterre della serie. Striscioni rosa lungo tutto il tracciato, T-shirt Julie in ogni angolo
del paddock e delle tribune, bracciali rosa sulle braccia abbronzate e adesivi che trovano
ovviamente posto sui go-kart.

ha convinto ancora una volta recuperando nella manche le posizioni perse durante le prove
cronometrate. Il pilota della De Vries Competition si è battuto aspramente per conquistare
il terzo posto nelle due gare di domenica. Il finlandese Aaro Vainio (Maranello – Maxter) ha
letteralmente sfiorato un risultato strepitoso. Ha dovuto accontentarsi di una bella rimonta in
gara che gli ha permesso di classificarsi sesto.
Gli altri piloti Tonelli della KF3 non sono riusciti a qualificarsi per la finale. Kevin Petit (F – Birel
– TM) prosegue il suo apprendistato da Paul Lemmens (GKS) con una grinta che è sempre
un piacere vedere. Lo svedese Adam Skargard su un TonyKart - XTR della Ward Racing ha
un po’ sofferto la partenza di una cronometro su una pista poco veloce. Estremamente performante sabato il Kosmic – Vortex ufficiale del belga Guillaume De Ridder non è riuscito a
ripetere il risultato nella giornata successiva. Infine il russo della Maranello, Maxim Zimin, non
è riuscito a qualificarsi durante il ripescaggio per sole due posizioni.
James Thorp (Maranello – Maxter) nelle due gare KF2 ha riportato una vittoria netta. Miglior
tempo nelle prove cronometrate è stato vittima di una rottura durante una manche, ma è
riuscito a realizzare una rimonta spettacolare in prefinale per poi aggiudicarsi la vittoria anche
in finale, risultato che gli permette di guadagnare parecchie posizioni in classifica. Anche
Giaguaro Nero sul suo Maranello ufficiale è riuscito a realizzare una strepitosa rimonta in prefinale guadagnando ben dodici posizioni. Il polacco Karol Basz, pilota Birel – Parilla del team
MGM, non è riuscito a fare nemmeno un giro in finale a causa di un incidente.
Bella prestazione di Jonathan Thonon (CRG/Maxter) nella KZ2 che è riuscito a mantenere
il suo secondo posto in classifica provvisoria dopo essersi classificato terzo e poi secondo nelle due gare. Ottima stagione nella 125 con
cambio con il team PDB per il discreto Manuel Renaudie (Gillard/SGM) che sin dall’inizio ha realizzato delle performance di tutto rispetto. A
Sarno una penalità di 10’’ lo ha ritardato in prefinale e costretto a effettuare una rimonta dal ventiduesimo al nono posto in finale. L’esperto
Alessandro Piccini ha dovuto piegarsi a due ritiri: uno nella manche e l’altro in finale. Nonostante tutto rimane sesto in classifica generale.
Thomas Mich non ha potuto esprimersi al meglio a causa di un telaio non adatto alla situazione. Davide Forè (Maranello/Maxter), venuto a
tastare il terreno in KZ in vista della Coppa del Mondo, è salito sul terzo gradino del podio. Il giovane gentleman driver Pierre Ragues abbandona il volante del suo Sport Protoype non appena ne ha l’occasione per il piacere di guidare un go-kart. Infine la speranza belga Benjamin
Bailly è riuscito a realizzare una bella rimonta in una categoria a lui nuova, riuscendo a conquistare l’ottavo posto in finale.
