FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/19/2011 The ITALIAN INSTITUTE OF CULTURE of New York in collaboration with Film Commission Torino Piedmont presents: A whole week of film screenings and meetings to celebrate Turin and Piedmont film production with the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte New York, 26 - 30 September 2011 the Italian Cultural Institute in New York together with Turin Piedmont Film Commission, organizes a week of screenings, meetings and debates around the Piedmont Region’s film production. The event is designed not only to promote and make divulge to the New York audience films shot in Turin and Piedmont with the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, but also to highlight the qualities and peculiarities of our land, facing a particularly receptive audience, which is the careful and learned scholars and film professionals who are based in New York. The meetings - which will take place between 27 and 30 September the Italian Institute of Culture and the Casa Italian Zerilli Marimo (Department of Italian Studies at New York University) - are built around the presence of two directors who have worked in Piedmont and work a lot, making films and documentaries of great importance, also international: Saverio Costanzo and Davide Ferrario. They and the projection of some of their most important works, will be associated with the screening of the film collective Walls & Borders, large container of visual contributions that involved the majority of the directors, producers and workers active in the Piedmont area and therefore well is to serve as a summary is provided to support the work of production JTPF held for over 10 years. Of note also that Constantius and Ferrari will also be involved in two lessons of the course MODERN ITALY: HISTORY AND FILM Yale University. Moderates the meeting the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in New York, Riccardo Viale. Q & A following the screening. Free admission by reservation.
