Born in Rome (IT), November 13, 1967.
Researcher at the Institute of Acoustics and Sensor “O. M. Corbino” (IDASC) – CNR, Via del Fosso del Cavaliere 100,
00133 Rome, Italy.
Licentiate degree in Physics in 1994 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Thesis: "Time Coincidence Techniques (ph, eph eA) and
(e, 2e) for the study of surfaces and electronic correlations" in the framework of a CNR strategic project.
From 1993 to 1998, research activity at the Institute of Solid State Electronics (IESS) - CNR, at present Institute for Photonics and
Nanotechnologies. Studies in the field of electron spectroscopy for surface and interface investigations in semiconductors. Experiences
in international research organizations such as the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - ESRF and the SERC Daresbury
Laboratory (UK).
Since 1998, she is involved in scientific projects at the Institute of Acoustics and Sensors “O. M. Corbino” (IDASC) on innovative
techniques for Applied Acoustics, in particular for non destructive investigations on Cultural Heritage. Acoustic Metrology. Metrological
Laboratory management. Acoustic diagnostics applied to Cultural Heritage and Environment. Development of integrated systems for
laboratory and in situ non destructive investigations of material’s acoustical properties. Patenting and Technological Transfer experience.
Furthermore, the activity includes the organization of a Metrological laboratory, Quality Management of a calibration centre according to
ISO/IEC 17025, Internal Auditing according to ISO 19011.

Recent scientific activities

Development of innovative non destructive methods for in situ acoustical diagnostics of multilayer and heterogeneous systems
such as frescoes, and glazed ceramic tiles. The method and relative device, denominated ACEADD-Acoustic Energy Absorption
Diagnostic Device and patented in US and EU, is based on the measure of acoustic energy absorption coefficient and was
employed in studies for the deterioration evaluation of many different systems presenting the detachment of the upper layer from
the substratum, in the early stages.
Coordination and realization of the project “Modelling and optimization of non linear sound sources for acoustic monitoring of
environment and structures”, founded by the Dipartimento Sistemi di Produzione – CNR. Characterization of plane wave sound
sources and parametric arrays in air employed in measurements of acoustic absorption and phono-isolation, in collaboration with
01bB Italia S.r.l.
Study of in situ acoustical methods for road pavements and phono-absorbent materials characterization, in collaboration with the
Road Research Centre of the National Road Agency (CSS . ANAS S.p.A.).
Organization and accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 of the Underwater Acoustics Laboratory of the Institute of Acoustics. Quality
Manager of the centre, since July 2006; planning and realization of the internal auditing program. The laboratory, a Calibration
Centre for the calibration of hydrophones accredited to the Italian Accreditation Body SIT Servizio di Taratura in Italia in December
2006, operates under Quality Management System.
Acoustical image analysis of echo-sounder profiler in the Venice lagoon, in the framework of ECHOS project, for geomorphological and archaeological prospecting of the lagoon of Venice. Software packages for automatic image processing for the
recognition and classification of buried geological and archaeological structures.
Organization and realization of teaching units, regarding the Fundamentals of Acoustics and the Principles of Propagation and
Interactions of acoustic waves, in training courses for the Scuba Division of the Italian National Fire Department and for the
Egyptian Marine Department (2005, 2006, 2007).
Tutor of students in Management Engineering, at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (2005-2006).







