REGLEMENT DU SYMPOSIUM
PREAMBULE
La commune de Samoëns, en partenariat conventionné avec la Société des maçons de Samoëns,
organise le septième Symposium de sculpture sur pierre de Samoëns du samedi 20 août 2016 au
vendredi 26 août 2016 sur la base de loisirs – 74 340 SAMOËNS. Cette manifestation est une
résidence d’artistes qui a pour objectifs de :

ARTICLE 1
faire connaître la sculpture (travail devant public), exposition d’œuvres en pierre,
promouvoir les artistes participants,
produire des œuvres originales,
enrichir le patrimoine culturel de Samoëns
avoir un rôle éducatif en direction des enfants.

pierre sur le thème : « Montagnes »
Le présent règlement définit les règles applicables pour cette manifestation.
ARTICLE 2

Le nombre de sculpteurs pour cette rencontre est limité à cinq. Les artistes travaillent
dans des espaces d’ateliers extérieurs protégés, éclairés et aménagés par la commune
organisatrice.
Chaque sculpteur aura à sa disposition électricité et accès à l’énergie pneumatique
sous la forme d’un compresseur de chantier.
Les sculpteurs doivent posséder leur propre outillage de sculpture et de finition.
Le symposium aura lieu quel que soit le temps.

ARTICLE 3
Le médium du symposium est la pierre calcaire grise de Samoëns.
Le thème de cette année est : « Montagnes ».
Les Alpes, le mythe alpin, la montagne refuge, l’homme et la montagne, la montagne
mère, la montagne défi, montagnes d’hier et de demain, montagnards du monde,
montagnes de Samoëns, etc.
Les artistes seront sélectionnés sur un projet qu’ils devront réaliser sur place en sept
jours (début du Symposium le samedi 20 août 2016. Les créations devront être
terminées impérativement vendredi 26 août 2016 pour la soirée de clôture).
L’organisateur mettra à disposition des sculpteurs des blocs de forme aléatoire. La
pierre à mettre en œuvre sera soigneusement choisie, saine, offrant un bon matériau
de sculpture, mais les blocs se présenteront à l’état brut d’extraction.
Les blocs de pierre seront mis en place par l’organisation. Les sculpteurs devront
signaler à l’avance la position souhaitée.
ARTICLE 4
En raison du nombre de candidatures, l’organisation ne peut retenir toutes les
propositions. Une sélection est indispensable.
Les candidats devront présenter obligatoirement :
- un dossier de présentation du projet de sculpture qu’ils souhaitent réaliser (tous
les supports de présentation sont acceptés : textes, croquis, maquettes, etc.),
- un CV artistique,
- une lettre de motivation,
- la fiche de renseignements (annexe 1) dûment remplie.
ARTICLE 5
Le jury de sélection sera réuni par la municipalité de Samoëns.
Le jury sélectionnera les participants sur leur projet, explications, croquis et
éventuellement maquettes, en complément des pièces obligatoires à fournir.
Le choix du jury sera sans appel.
Le choix des participants sera validé par délibération du Conseil Municipal de
Samoëns.
ARTICLE 6
Les projets d’œuvres et candidatures au Symposium devront être retournées avant le
lundi 21 mars 2016 à 00 h 00 cachet de la poste ou heure d’envoi du courriel faisant
foi.

ARTICLE 7
Les sculpteurs travailleront en public du samedi 20 août 2016 au vendredi 26
août 2016 à titre gratuit, sous leur propre responsabilité matérielle et sous leur
propre responsabilité civile.
A l’issue de la manifestation, la commune de Samoëns s’engage à acheter l’œuvre
produite par chacun des artistes pendant la semaine.
A ce titre, chaque artiste recevra un paiement équivalent à 1 400 Euros (millequatre-cent euros), toutes taxes comprises par virement bancaire exclusivement.

Il sera versé 1 400 Euros aux participants pouvant délivrer une facture conforme
aux normes en vigueur en France et un exemplaire de son attestation S2062.

Il sera versé aux autres participants la somme de 1 268,40 Euros correspondant à
un paiement global de 1 400 Euros défalqué des cotisations et contributions
sociales en contrepartie obligatoire d’une facture. La commune s’engage à
reverser ces cotisations à la Maison des Artistes dans le respect de la législation
en vigueur.
Le taux de précompte de 9,40 % (taux en vigueur en décembre 2015) pourra être
révisé en fonction de l’évolution de la réglementation au mois d’août 2016.
ARTICLE 8
Du samedi 20 août 2016 à 9 heures au samedi 27 août 2016 à 9 heures, les sculpteurs
participants seront logés en chambre individuelle dans un appartement commun. Ils
seront nourris : petit-déjeuner au restaurant, repas de midi sous forme de cassecroûte sur le Symposium, diner au restaurant le soit du 20 août au 26 août.
ARTICLE 9
DISPOSITIONS TECHNIQUES
Les participants devront amener un matériel électroportatif en état de marche.
Ils veilleront à s’équiper de rallonges électriques suffisantes et sans défaut et à
s’équiper d’adaptateurs aux normes françaises afin d’éviter tout disfonctionnement
sur le circuit électrique de la manifestation.
L’énergie pneumatique sera fournie par un compresseur collectif. L’air comprimé
sera acheminé par des tuyaux raccords pompiers (photo ci-dessous).
Chaque participant devra s’adapter aux tuyaux des compresseurs avec un raccord
mâle taraudé G¼ afin de pouvoir recueillir un embout mâle type ISO B6 G14 ou
similaire, ou un raccord automatique profil universel G¼.
Chaque sculpteur devra s’équiper d’un ensemble de traitement d’air comprenant filtre
régulateur et lubrificateur. Les pièces de raccordement seront à la charge des
participants.

ARTICLE 10 PROPRIÉTÉ SUR LES ŒUVRES
Les pièces étant achetées par la Commune, les artistes ne conserveront sur elles qu’un
droit moral.
ARTICLE 11 RESPONSABILITÉ
L’artiste travaille sur son emplacement sous sa propre responsabilité et veille à la
sécurité de son entourage. Le sculpteur devra fournir une attestation d’assurance en
responsabilité civile. En l’absence, lors du 1er jour du Symposium, une décharge sera
signée par l’intéressé.
ARTICLE 12 MEDIATISATION
La médiatisation sera assurée par l’envoi de dossiers à la presse écrite, télévisuelle,
généraliste et spécialisée, aux entreprises potentiellement partenaires, aux
collectivités locales, par la production d’un catalogue et de cartons d’invitation.
ARTICLE 13 Ces conditions générales seront reprises, au terme des sélections, avec chaque
participant, dans le cadre d’un contrat de participation et d’achat.
ARTICLE 14 Les organisateurs se réservent le droit de modifier la durée et le nombre de
participants.

REGOLAMENTO DEL SIMPOSIO
Introduzione
Il comune di Samoëns, in cooperazione con la Société des maçons di Samoëns, organizza il settimo
Simposio di scultura su pietra di Samoëns dal sabato 20 agosto 2016 al venerdì 26 agosto 2016, alla
« Base de Loisirs » di Samoëns. Questa manifestazione è una residenza di artisti. I obiettivi sono di :

promuovere la scultura (lavoro in pubblico)
esporre delle opere,
promuovere gli artisti partecipanti,
produrre opere originali,
arricchire il patrimonio culturale di Samoëns,
avere un ruolo educativo verso i bambini.

orgnaizza il settimo Simposio di scultura sul tema « Montagne » dal sabato 20 agosto
al venerdi 26 agosto 2016. Il presente regolamento definisce le regole applicabili per
questa manifestazzione.
ARTICOLO 2 Il numero di scultori per questo simposio è limitato a cinque. Gli artisti lavorano in
studi protette, illuminati e sistemati dalla città organizzatrice.
Ogni scultore avrà a disposizione l'accesso all'energia elettrica e a l'energia
pneumatica in forma di un compressore (da cantiere).
I Scultori devono avere i propri strumenti per la scultura e la finitura.
Il simposio si svolgerà con qualsiasi condizione atmosferica.
ARTICOLO 3 Il materiale del simposio è il calcare grigio de Samoens.
Il tema di quest'anno è "Montagne".
Le Alpi, il mito alpino, le montagne di Samoëns, l'uomo e la montagna, la montagna
nei miti cosmogonici, la sfida della montagna, montagne di ieri e di domani,
montagne del mondo, ecc.
Gli artisti saranno selezionati su un progetto a scolpire in sette giorni (inizio Simposio
Sabato, 20 agosto 2016. I lavori dovranno essere completati entro Venerdì 26 agosto
2016 per la serata di chiusura).
I organizzatori forniranno ai scultori blocchi di pietra. La pietra a lavorare sarà
scelta con attenzione (buon materiale di scultura), ma sarà greggia e senza forma.
I blocchi saranno installati dai organizzatori. Gli scultori dovranno segnalare in
anticipo la posizione desiderata.
ARTICOLO 4 A causa del numero crescente di domande, gli organizzatori non possono conservare
tutte le proposte. Una selezione è necessaria.
I canididati dovranno presentare obbligatoriamente :

una documentazione di proggieto di scultura che augurano realizzare (tutti i
supporti di presentazione sono accetatti : testi, disegni, modellini, ecc.),
un CV artistico,
Una lettera di motivazione,
La scheda di informazioni (documento allegato 1) piena.
ARTICOLO 5 Il comittato di selezione è nominato dal comune di Samoëns.
Questo comittato selezionerà i partecipanti sul loro progetto, spiegazioni, schizzi o
modellini, in complemento dei documenti obbligatori a fornire.
La scelta del comittato sara inoppugnabile.
La scelta dei partecipanti sarà convalidata da deliberazione del consiglio communale
di Samoëns.
ARTICOLO 6 I progetti di opere dei candidati al Simposio devono essere restituiti prima Lunedi 21
marzo 2016 all’indirizzo :

I nommi degli artisti selezionati saràno comunicati sul sito Internet del comune di
Samoëns dal lundi 4 aprile 2016.
ARTICOLO 7 Gli scultori lavoreranno in pubblico da sabato 20 agosto 2016 a Venerdì 26 agosto
2016 gratuitamente, sotto la propria responsabilità materiale e sulla loro propria
responsabilità. Dopo l'evento, la città di Samoëns si impegna ad acquistare l’opera
prodotta da ciascuno degli artisti durante la settimana. Come tale, ogni artista
riceverà una somma di 1 400 Euro, tasse incluse esclusivamente tramite bonifico
bancario.

I partecipanti che possono produrre una fattura in conformità alle norme vigenti
in Francia e una copia del certificato S2062 (Maison des Artistes, France)
saranno pagati 1400 euro.
Agli altri partecipanti riceveranno la somma di 1 268,40 euro corrispondenti ad
un pagamento complessivo di 1400 euro (trattenuti contributi sociali obbligatori
in cambio di una fattura). Il Comune donerà i contributi alla Maison des artistes
nel rispetto della normativa vigente.
La ritenuta fiscale del 9,40% (tasso in vigore nel dicembre 2015) può essere riveduto
a seconda degli sviluppi normativi fino a agosto 2016.
ARTICOLO 8 Da Sabato 20 agosto 2016 (alle 09:00) e Sabato 27 agosto 2016 (alle 09:00), i
partecipanti avranno vitto e allogio. (sistemazione in camera singola in un
appartamento in comune, prima colazione in ristorante, pranzo come spuntino sul
simposio, la cena al ristorante dal 20 agosto al 26 agosto).
ARTICOLO 9 QUESTIONI TECNICHE
Gli partecipanti devono portare i loro apparecchi elettrici.
Devono anche portare prolunghe sufficienti in ottimo stato e adattatori con gli
standard francesi per prevenire qualsiasi malfunzionamento del circuito elettrico
della manifestazione.
L'energia pneumatica sarà fornita da un compressore gruppo. L'aria compressa viene
trasportato da " raccord pompiers " (foto sotto).
Ogni partecipante dovrà adattarsi ai tubi dei compressori con un maschio filettato
fine G¼ raccordo di raccogliere un rubinetto di tipo ISO G14 B6 o simili o di una
connessione automatica G¼ profilo universale.
Ogni scultore portera un gruppo di trattamento dell'aria compresa regolatore e filtro
lubrificatore. I pezzi di connessione sono a carico dei partecipanti.

Le opere essendo acquistate dal Comune, gli artisti mantengono un diritto
morale sulle opere.
ARTICOLO 11
RESPONSABILITA
L'artista lavora nel suo studio sotto la propria responsabilità e garantisce la
sicurezza di chi lo circonda. Egli deve fornire un certificato di assicurazione
per la responsabilità civile. In assenza di questo documento, nel corso della
prima giornata del Simposio, un discarico sarà firmato dall'artista.
ARTICOLO 12
MEDIATIZZAZIONE
La copertura mediatica sarà fornito con l'invio di file per la stampa generale
e specializzata, aziende e autorità locali, con la produzione di un catalogo e
biglietti d'invito.
ARTICOLO 13
Queste condizioni generali saranno riprese, al termine delle selezioni, con
ogni partecipante, in un contratto di partecipazione e di acquisto.
ARTICOLO 14
Gli organizzatori si riservano il diritto di modificare la durata e il numero dei
partecipanti.

GENERAL REGULATIONS – “7 ème Symposium de Sculpture de Samoëns”
INTRODUCTION
The municipality of Samoëns, in partnership with the “Société des maçons de Samoëns”, is organizing
the seventh edition of the “Symposium de sculpture de Samoëns” (from Saturday, August 20th, 2016
to Friday, August 26th, 2016). The symposium is a residency for stone sculpture artists and will take
place on the leisure area next to Samoëns (74 340) lakes. The symposium has the following goals:
- To promote stone sculpture (live work) and exhibition of stone artworks,
- To promote the artists,
- To produce original works,
- To promote and enrich Samoëns’ cultural heritage (as a stone masons’ village)
- To be educative for children.
ARTICLE 1
ORGANIZER

is organizing the “Symposium de sculpture de Samoëns” on the theme : “Mountains”.
The general regulations defines the applicable rules for the event.
ARTICLE 2

Only five artists will be selected for this event. The hosting municipality will provide
protected and enlightened outdoor workshops. Each sculptor will be able to access
electricity and use pneumatic energy supplied by a working site compressor.
Sculptors have to bring their own carving and finishing tools.
The symposium will take place regardless of the weather conditions as the working
areas will be protected.
ARTICLE 3
The artistic material provided for the symposium is grey limestone from Samoëns.
This year’s theme is: “Mountains”.
The Alps, the alpine myth, mountain as a refuge, men and mountains, the mountain as
a challenge, the motherly mountain, mountains of all times, worldwide mountain
people, mountains of Samoëns, etc.
Artists will be selected based on the projects that they will submit and that will have to
be completed within seven days (the Symposium begins on Saturday, August 20th,
2016 and the artworks will have to be completed by Friday, August 26th, 2016 for the
closing ceremony in the evening).
Sculptors will be provided with stones of various shapes. The stones to work on will
have been carefully selected with the help of the mason association of Samoëns. They
will be suitable for stone sculpture but will come in a rough state. The stones will be
put in place by the organising committee and sculptors will have to indicate in
advance the desired positions within their working area.
ARTICLE 4
Even if a high number of applications are received, only a limited number of
participants will be selected.
The candidates have to present necessarily:
- A project display folder of the sculpture they wish to realize (all media are
accepted: sketches, texts, models, etc.),
- an artistic CV
- an application letter
- the information sheet (appendix 1) duly filled
ARTICLE 5
All applications received will be examined by the organizing committee. If they abide
to all requirements (filled information sheet, CV, letter, project presented with
explanations and sketches, resume of the artist) they will be presented to a selection
committee.
The selection committee will be gathered by the municipality of Samoëns. The choice
of the committee is irrevocable.
The selection will be approved by a deliberation of the Samoëns Municipal Council.
ARTICLE 6
The applications for the Symposium are to be returned before Monday, March 21st,
2016 to :

The name of the selected artists will be communicated on the web site of the
municipality of Samoëns from April 4th, 2016.
ARTICLE 7
Sculptors will work in public from Saturday, August 20th, 2016 to Friday, August
26th, 2016. They will work for free, under their own material responsibility and under
their own civil liability.
At the end of the Symposium, the municipality of Samoëns commits to buying the
artwork produced by each artist. Each artist will receive a payment equivalent to
€1,400 (one thousand four hundred Euros) including taxes. Payments will only be
made by bank transfer.

Artists who can provide an invoice in compliance with French standards and
a copy of their S 2062 certificate from the French institution “La Maison des
Artistes” will be paid €1,400.

The ones who will not provide these documents will be paid €1,268.40, (the
equivalent of €1,400 minus general and compulsory Social Security
contributions). The Municipality will pay the difference to the “Maison des
Artistes” to abide to the law.
The deduction rate of 9, 40 % (current rate in December, 2015) might be revised in
August 2016, depending on the evolution of regulations.
ARTICLE 8
From Saturday, August 20th, 2016 (at 9 am) to Saturday, August 27th, 2016 (at 9 am),
participating sculptors shall be provided with appropriate accommodation in shared
apartments where each of them will get a private room.
Participants will also be provided with food (breakfast at the restaurant, snacks for
lunch on the leisure area and dinner at the restaurant) from August 20th till August
26th.
ARTICLE 9
TECHNICAL ARRANGEMENTS
Participants will have to bring electrical equipment in perfect working order:
- Flawless extension leads
- Adapters (for French plugs)
The organising committee wants to make sure there won’t be any problems on the
electric circuit of the Symposium.
Pneumatic energy will be supplied by a collective compressor. The compressed air
will be forwarded by pipes with "raccords pompiers" mouthpieces (see picture below).
Every participant will have to connect to the compressor’s pipes using an adapted
connector to connect to a G ¼ type mouthpiece (see picture below). Each sculptor will

have to bring a set of compressed air treatment tools including a regulating and
lubricating filter. Connectors will be brought by the participants under their own
expense.

ARTICLE 10
PROPERTY OF THE ART PIECES
As the pieces will be purchased by the town of Samoëns, the artists will only keep the
intellectual property.
ARTICLE 11
RESPONSIBILITY
Artists work in their workshop under their own responsibility and will have to ensure
the safety of people in their surroundings. Providing a civil liability insurance
certificate will be compulsory. If no certificate is provided, the sculptor will have to
sign a liability waiver at the beginning of the symposium.
ARTICLE 12
MEDIA COVERAGE
A wide range of media (generalist and specialised written and TV media) will be
contacted to cover the event. Dedicated communication tools will be developed for the
event: a press kit, a Symposium catalogue and invitation cards.
ARTICLE 13
These rules and regulations will be included in the contract for the involvement of the
selected artists in the event and for the purchase of their work.
ARTICLE 14
Organizers have the right to modify the duration of the event and the number of
participants.
