Built on the original site of the perfume factory owned by the Martone family, this unique hotel designed by Architects Luciano Maria Colombo, Paola Benelli and Roberto Murgia, combines environmental sustainability and high technology in an advanced eco-compatible, energy-saving project that expresses innovation and beauty. Every detail and aspect reveals these fundamental values. The Martone family’s love of perfume, art, and hospitality inspired them to create Magna Pars Suites Milano: the Essence of Living. It is a fascinating place with an enthralling and exciting story, a dream that interprets a prestigious past filled with emotion, talent and artisan savoir faire. Its Thirty-nine exclusive Suites offer sophisticated hospitality, comfort, privacy and pampering that will satisfy and surprise even the most discerning and curious travelers. Just as perfume-making requires restraint, talent and sensibility, the hotel architecture is based on a rigorous design. Here, wood – the oldest and most noble material – combined with the strength of steel and the transparency of glass meets state-of-the-art domotic technology. The building is constructed around a magnificent inner courtyard, a lush double garden of rare beauty with an enchanting and relaxing atmosphere that lets guests indulge all five senses even in the beating heart of the Tortona area. Elegance and precious details are joined by many prestigious services for guests, which makes Magna Pars Suites Milano the perfect destination for business travelers, connoisseurs of culture and art, people who love the city and its social life, and guests seeking relaxation and well-being. The hotel, with its 39 exclusive Suites, is an expression of excellence, discretion, and respectful creativity, which makes it the perfect place for people who love refinement. Inspired by olfactory elements from the world of perfumes and reflecting the same attention and taste for details as the factory that once stood on this site, Magna Pars Suites Milano is a place of dreams and emotions. 2 Via Forcella 6 - 20144 Milan, Italy - ph.+39 02.8338371- fax+39 02.83383799 - www.magnapars.it Magna Pars Suites Milano: the Location Magna Pars Suites Milano is in the Navigli area of Milan close to the historic Porta Genova station and the lively Via Tortona, the heart of fashion and design in the city. Geothermal energy ensures that all areas are kept at the right temperature to optimize comfort and save energy. 3 Via Forcella 6 - 20144 Milan, Italy - ph.+39 02.8338371- fax+39 02.83383799 - www.magnapars.it Magna Pars Suites Milano: the Thirty-Nine Suites The Thirty-nine Suites were designed for the most refined and discerning guests and decorated with the same loving care as one’s home. Superb Italian textiles and furnishings, outstanding artisan workmanship, and vegetal-tanned natural leather handmade by skilled Italian artisans add beauty and uniqueness to the Suites with furniture produced by talented furniture-makers from the Lombardy region. Each Suite decorated in subtle colors has refined lighting, brushed oak wood plank floors, leather sofas and chairs, glass tables, a bookcase with a small private collection, and refined paintings inspired by the olfactory elements that give each Suite its name and character. Each Suite has a modern bar, a well-lit, cozy living area, a 46” television, an elegant bedroom, and a spacious bath. All the Suites, distributed on three floors, face the inner courtyard and are inspired by a floral, fruity or woody olfactory note that represents the world of perfume-making. The elements of distinction for each of the 39 Suites are the refined Essences that were developed and inspired by 39 fragrant olfactory notes. The evocative power of the 39 Fragrances composing the hotel’s Olfactory Library -- of which each Suite is a precious, thrilling olfactory volume, a fusion between Nature and the Culture of Perfume -- is truly extraordinary. Nineteen Suites are dedicated to flowering trees and bushes such as the Gardenia, Jasmine, Neroli, and Magnolia. Nine Suites are inspired by wood such as Vetiver, Sandalwood, and Patchouli. Eleven Suites are dedicated to fruit trees such as the Medlar Tree, Fig Three, and Cherry Tree. The location of the Suites is based on the height of the tree they represent. Oud wood, which is the name of the Presidential Suite 16, is a tree originally from Southeast Asia that produces an intense, aromatic resin from which an extremely rare and precious oil is extracted. Also noteworthy are Guaiac wood, the choice for Prestige Suite 19, which comes from a small tree from South America and is chopped up to obtain an essential oil, and Cedar wood, an imposing evergreen that can reach 40 meters in height and has a very hard, strongly aromatic wood due to its high percentage of essential oil. Ceder Wood is the name of Prestige Suite 29. The Gardenia, after which Prestige Suite 20 is named, is a decorative shrub with fragrant white, dense flowers that originates in the Far East. Meanwhile, the Neroli plant, after which Executive Suite 23 is named, is linked to the Italian Princess Nerola, Duchess of Bracciano, who lived in the 17th century and who loved this essential oil so much that the plant was later named after her. The Bergamot, which is the name of Junior Suite Deluxe Suite 101, is a small tree with leaves and flowers like the bitter orange. Its essence is obtained through cold expression of the peel of the fruit. According to a legend, during full moon nights, Bergamot would show the place where fairies are born. The Almond Tree is the name of Suite 302. The kernels of this tree are used to distil precious bitter almond oil: a colorless liquid of strong, but sweet and clean odor, reminiscent of crushed wet bitter almonds. 4 Via Forcella 6 - 20144 Milan, Italy - ph.+39 02.8338371- fax+39 02.83383799 - www.magnapars.it Magna Pars Suites Milano: in exclusive, the Aqua Adornationis line The history of our former factory lives on exclusively for our guests at Magna Pars Suites Milano through the Amenities inspired by Marvin, a famous Italian cosmetics brand in the seventies. Introducing Aqua Adornationis by Marvin, created by Giorgia Martone. “The idea first emerged in 2007, when I began an extensive and exciting research of the past and our company’s roots. It revealed a passion for and dedication to scientific, chemical, and dermatological research for the wellbeing and beauty of women to which Marvin was dedicated. The commitment and careful preparation of the formulas, the magnificent packaging designed down to the minimum detail, the names of the creams, and many other marvelous details were all tucked away, hidden in a dusty cabinet.” Thus, the dream, project and journey began. The aim was to bring back to life a historic project inspired by traditions of the past and a love for one’s work, creating a symphony of sentiments and exciting dreams. From a label of UTIF – obligatory at the time and almost hidden on the bottom of the original Marvin bottle yet still firmly glued to glass – came the name of the line: Aqua Adornationis. Once required by Italian law and no longer used, this name had great and powerful significance to our ancient Roman ancestors. Giorgia Martone carefully chose the ingredients and composition of Aqua Adornationis based on their quality and olfactory value. The more prestigious Suites have the Aqua Adornationis “Olfactory Kit” containing information about the fragrance and a guide to the world of perfume that explains olfactory families (Citrus, Aromatic, Floral, Woody, Oriental, and Chypre) and the composition of the line. It explores the fragrance through the sensory experience of its main elements: Neroli, Sandalwood, and Musk. Its Woody Aquatic Floral scent will accompany guests in their personal care rituals with notes carefully selected by the Hotel à Parfum. The line, which is packaged in bottles that echo the shape of Marvin products, is composed of Aqua Adornationis Body Lotion, Aqua Adornationis Bath Gel, Aqua Adornationis Shampoo, Aqua Adornationis Conditioner, and Aqua Adornationis scented beauty Soap. Also included are the exceptional scented bath pearls. The linking thread is a candle: a silent, elegant, and discreet presence that emanates the essence of Aqua Adornationis. The Aqua Adornationis amenities line is an olfactory library that is constantly evolving and, as such, will be enriched over time with even more precious “volumes” based on the “Essence of Living” philosophy, first and foremost Volume “1947”. 5 Via Forcella 6 - 20144 Milan, Italy - ph.+39 02.8338371- fax+39 02.83383799 - www.magnapars.it Magna Pars Suites Milano: Art and Books A search for excellence must pay homage to the art, experimentation, and city of Milan: for this reason, an original project was launched involving students of the Brera Art Academy who were commissioned by the Martone family to create figurative works for the Floral and Wood Suites inspired by olfactory ingredients to which each Suite is dedicated. Following in the footsteps of the Italian Renaissance, these paintings are a new encounter between culture and perfume, an entrepreneurial project, artistic talent and local character. Just as original is the project launched for the Fruit Tree Suites: a Collection of Photographs featuring the olfactory ingredients printed on fine natural linen cloth and embellished with top quality oil paints. This collection that captures splendid examples of Italian Flora skillfully blends the arts of painting and photography. The Collection of Photographs specially taken to offer an olfactory image to the Fruits Suites is extraordinarily evocative. The Art project had to include photography, which is a beloved art form historically tied to the development of the Tortona Area, which is home to many famous photography studios. The search for excellence also wanted to celebrate international culture, which is why the “Magna Pars Suites Library” was created and continues to grow. The library is composed of books published between the 18th and 20th centuries. Most came from antique bookshops that acquired and united over the years public and private library collections from all over Europe, whose main languages are represented. The collection includes works on a wide variety of themes, from Architecture and Music to Scientific Manuals, Ancient History, Primitive Art, Archaeology, and Shipbuilding. All the works have been catalogued for each Suite, the Library Hall, and Restaurant. Magna Pars Suites Milano: The Garden The splendid inner courtyard was designed and created according to the Magna Pars philosophy. This small garden was tastefully designed with an aesthetic sense. Pyramid hornbeam, maples, ‘Julia’ magnolia trees and flowering shrubs like Dogwoods, Azaleas, Oakleaf Hydrangea, Mutabilis Roses, Abelia, Periwinkle, Ferns, Clematis, and Olive trees create a harmonious setting. Three Liquidambar trees (commonly known as sweet-gum), with their characteristic autumn coloring, are colorful accents in our garden. Flowering Osmanthus and Jasmine and a lovingly tended herb garden complete the work and delight hotel guests, gently reminding them of the passing seasons. 6 Via Forcella 6 - 20144 Milan, Italy - ph.+39 02.8338371- fax+39 02.83383799 - www.magnapars.it Magna Pars Suites Milano: Library Hall The splendid Library Hall was created according to the Magna Pars philosophy and designed for relaxing in the company of a good book that you can browse while waiting or read during your stay. Old photos of the former factory decorate the enchanting and relaxing atmosphere of the place. Magna Pars Suites Milano is the ideal venue for business meetings or private events. The Business Centre is perfectly equipped with communication systems and is decorated in the unmistakable style of Magna Pars Suites Milano.
