For the fifty years following the promulgation of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy “Sacrosanctum
Concilium”, Koinè Ricerca delves further into the theme of the art in churches by means of an exhibition on
contemporary artistic glass windows. Leading European Studios have been invited to exhibit some of their most
remarkable examples of their recent works, often the result of collaborations with renowned artists.

La vetrata artistica contemporanea nelle chiese: scenario europeo Contemporary glass windows in churches: European Scenario
A cinquant’anni dalla promulgazione della Costituzione conciliare sulla liturgia “Sacrosanctum Concilium”,
Koinè Ricerca affronta il tema dell’arte nelle chiese attraverso una mostra dedicata alla vetrata artistica
contemporanea. Importanti atelier europei sono stati invitati per esporre alcuni fra gli esempi più interessanti
delle loro realizzazioni più recenti, spesso frutto della collaborazione con importanti artisti.

Domus Dei p.d.d.m.
La Domus Dei p.d.d.m. è un’azienda nata nel 1963
quando lo Spirito portato dal Concilio Vaticano II
coinvolgeva l’intera Chiesa con la Riforma Liturgica in
materia di arte e liturgia.
Oggi la sua attività ricopre il progetto architettonico
ed artistico in tutta la sua estensione: dalla progettazione di nuove chiese alla loro ristrutturazione con
l’adeguamento degli spazi liturgici, dalla realizzazione di nuove opere al restauro di quelle presenti, sino
ad abbracciare tutto il settore dell’arte monumentale
ed ornamentale.
Negli ateliers della Domus Dei p.d.d.m. si creano vetrate artistiche in vetro soffiato a bocca ed in “dalles”
di vetro, si realizzano mosaici; prendono forma opere
fuse in bronzo con la tecnica della cera persa: statuaria, portali e opere monumentali. Fra queste ultime
vi sono realizzazioni importanti affidate all’atelier da
committenza pubblica quali la copia del “Monumento
equestre dell’imperatore Marco Aurelio”, installato
sulla piazza del Campidoglio a Roma, o quella della
trecentesca “Maestà” per il Duomo di Orvieto.
Trova spazio, fra le molteplici attività dell’azienda, anche un attrezzato laboratorio di restauro in
cui opere di ogni materia ed epoca hanno trovato
nuovo splendore.
L’azienda, che oggi appartiene alla Congregazione
delle Pie Discepole del Divin Maestro, vanta nella sua

in 1963 when the Spirit transmitted by Vatican II engaged the entire Church in Liturgical Reform in the areas of art and liturgy.
Today, the Company’s services cover the entire spectrum of any architectural/artistic project: from the
complete design to the remodeling of new churches,
with the adaptation of liturgical spaces; from the creation of new works to the restoration of existing ones;
their work spans the entire field of monumental and
ornamental art.
Domus Dei p.d.d.m. craftspeople create hand blown
stained glass, glass “dalles” and mosaics ; here cast
bronze works using the lost wax technique take
shape: statuary, gates and monuments. Among the
latter there are important Government commissioned
projects, such as a copy of the “Equestrian Monument
of Emperor Marcus Aurelius,” installed in the Piazza
del Campidoglio in Rome, or that of the fourteenthcentury “Majesty” for the Cathedral of Orvieto.
Among the firm’s many activities, one finds a fully
equipped restoration laboratory in which works of every type and age have found new splendor.
The company, which today belongs to the
Congregation of the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master, has in its history an impressive curriculum of artistic production; a body of work which includes stained

Domus Dei p.d.d.m. continues its journey on a clear
artistic path, guided by a treasure trove of experience, hallmark of the craft laboratories of the past:
the crafts of the ancient glassmakers, the mosaic artists, the sculptors and casters, enriched by the ongoing dialogue with the customer. Here the crafts of ages
gone by find a prolific environment in which that old
passion now integrates with new techniques, to shape
new works that further express the value of the artist.
