The interaction between the Italian experience and the experience of other countries, which can be geographically far away but share the same cultural references, will offer a unique opportunity of dialogue, reflection and cultural growth. The Congress articulates in two sessions: the first offers speeches, analysis and presentations of experiences, the second workshops and activities in order to explore different fields of work and didactical issues of the world of today. Monday 23rd February 2015 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Visit of different schools in Rome 2 – 6 p.m. Workshop Tuesday 24th February 2015 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Workshop 2 – 6 p.m. Workshop Speeches in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. simultaneous interpreting available. www.fondazionemontessori.it www.iladei.net WORKSHOPS Every participant has the possibility to attend up to three of these four-hoursworkshops: 1) Language Education Learning language with analytical methods, learning on phonetic basis, from the code to the meaning – from writing to reading, Montessori materials to prepare the hand for the writing, Montessori materials to learn phonemes, tombolas, “alphabetarios”, nomenclatures and books, the first materials to analyse the discourse. 2) Maths Education How to create a Maths-friendly environment, the materials to discover the numbers, count, number and add, work together and work in autonomy, self-correction and invitation to the work, teacher devolution and non-educational learning. 3) Scientific and cosmic Education The ecological thought of Maria Montessori, Geography materials, Botany materials, experiments with the plants, the relationship between Child and Nature, the connection between the School and its surroundings. 4) Art Education Expressiveness and techinques, the hand and the eye, traditional Montessori materials fot the activities of plasticity and drawing, geometrical figures, Bruno Munari’s materials, the space for Art Education in Montessori classrooms. 5) Educational Documentation Reasons for keeping records; documentation: when and how, different forms of documentation to communicate to all subjects: pedagogues, teachers, families, children; from observation to documentation: thinking about a documentation which returns the value of the collaborative and group learning and keeps the balance between the social and the personal dimention; linking digital and penand-paper documentation: every media plays its part. 6) Educational Materials and space Design Pedagogical principles of Montessori materials, interest and intrinsic drive, step-by-step difficulty; personal focus/concentration and group work, learning space project, childoriented space. The workshops will be activated with a minimum number of participants. PARTICIPATION FEES AND FORMULAS • Friday 20th and Saturday 21st February 2015 (session of speeches, analysis and presentations of experiences): 120 euros (lunches included). • Friday 20th, Saturday 21st, Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th February 2015 (session of speeches, analysis and presentations of experiences, and session of workshops and activities): 200 euros (lunches of Friday and Saturday included). • 50% discount for students. • City visit with Pope blessing on Sunday 22nd February 2015: 60 euros.
