Francesco d’Amico nasce il 23 Settembre 1982 a Latina.
Il suo percorso nella moda inizia con gli studi presso l’Accademia di Costume e Moda di
Roma, dove sente e cura sempre di più un profondo interesse per l’Alta Moda e la ricerca.
E’ però attraverso il rapporto di amicizia con Maurizio Galante, grande couturier italiano
trapiantato a Parigi, che questo interesse si delinea e prende forma.
Ha la possibilità di assistere e supportare il coordinamento dello staff durante i defilée
parigini entrando in contatto con una realtà nuova e stimolante.
Dopo il conseguimento del diploma di laurea e la partecipazione al Final Work presentato
presso l’Auditorium di Roma, Francesco viene scelto per un percorso di stage a
Milano dallo stilista Giovanni Cavagna. Esperienza che lo introduce nel mondo della
maglieria di lusso e che gli insegna a vivere il momento del lavoro con grande impegno,
in maniera profonda e atemporale.
Il successivo rapporto di lavoro pluriennale con Massimo Monteforte nella figura di senior
designer e conseguentemente con clienti italiani e stranieri
come Annapurna,
Gentryportofino, Ballantyne, Turtle ltd e Dayang Trands, portano invece a maturazione
quegli aspetti professionali e umani che oggi permettono a Francesco di vivere il lavoro
nella piena padronanza dei mezzi e sicurezza di movimento, tecnico e relazionale.
E’ durante gli ultimi anni nello studio Monteforte che Francesco incontra il mondo
della calzatura. Ha la possibilità di curare il lancio e lo sviluppo stilistico di una collezione di
calzature femminili prima sotto la direzione artistica di Massimo Monteforte e poi
autonomamente, immergendosi a pieno nel mondo della scarpa donna e acquisendo
una grandissima esperienza nel campo.
A Settembre 2015, dopo diverse esperienze di lavoro e con un importante bagaglio
tecnico, Francesco fonda e lancia il marchio di calzatura donna DAMICO MILANO, oggi
alla seconda stagione e in vendita presso importantissime realtà retail italiane e estere.
Francesco d’Amico was born on September 23, 1982 in Latina, Italy.
His career in fashion began with his studies at the Accademia di Costume e di Moda
in Rome, where he felt a strong care and a deep interest for the research of the Haute
Couture. It is through his friendship with Maurizio Galante, a great Italian couturier,
that this interest emerges and takes shape. He had the chance to assist and support
the Parisians defilée backstage coordination during, getting in contact with a new and
stimulating reality.
After Francesco’s graduation and participation in the final work at the Auditorium in
Rome, he has been chosen for an internship at Giovanni Cavagna’s fashion consulting
studio in Milan. Experience that brought him into the world of luxury knitwear and to live
the moment of the work with great effort and in a deep and timeless way.
The next multi-year working relationship with Massimo Monteforte’s consulting studio as
a senior designer and consequently with its Italian and foreign clients such as Annapurna,
Gentryportofino, Ballantyne, Turtle Imt and Dayang Trands., has increased and matured
those professional and human aspects that today allow Francesco to work with a strong
technical confidence and self-mastery.
During the last years in Monteforte studio, Francesco encountered the world of luxury
women’s shoes. He had the opportunity to cure the launch and the stylistic development
of a women’s luxury shoe collection, first under the artistic direction of Massimo Monteforte and then independently, completely immersing himself into the world of luxury
women’s shoes and acquiring a vast experience in the field.
On September 2015, after several experiences of work and with an important technical
background, Francesco founded and launched the luxury women’s shoe brand DAMICO
MILANO, now in its fourth season.
Francesco d’Amico has been selected as Vogue Talent 2016 and as finalist for the Vogue
contest Who’s On Next 2016.
