 Year 7 Italian
1. Il Mare di Signorelli 3 punti
Girotondo, girotondo,
quant’e` bello il mar profondo.
Ci son alghe e pesciolini,
squali, sogliole, delfini.
Tutto e` pace ed allegria
ed i pesci in compagnia
si divertono a giocare
nel profondo blu del mare.
Su dal cielo la luna bianca
di guardare non si stanca
e ad un gambero curioso
manda un raggio luminoso.
2. La luna di Elda Bossi* 2 punti
Chi conosce una donnina
pallidetta e silenziosa,
che viaggia senza posa,
dalla sera alla mattina?...
Che ora e` grassa, tonda e piena,
ora e` magra che fa pena?
Poi sparisce addirittura...
Morta? Che! Niente paura!
Ogni notte una fettina
e rifa` la sua pancina...
3.
Un cane e un gatto di Anonimo* 1 punto
Un cane e un gatto giocavan felici
fin dalla nascita erano amici.
Gli altri dicevano:
“Ma guarda che strano,
e` forse meglio che vadan lontano!”
Pensavan davvero fosse un brutto caso
non riuscivano ad andare piu` in la` del loro naso!

The Sea by Signorelli
Round, round,
How beautiful is the deep sea.
There are algae and little fish, sharks, soles,
dolphins.
Everything is peace and cheerful and the
fish in company enjoy themselves playing in
the deep blue sea.
From the sky the white moon does not get
tired and to a curious prawn it sends a
luminous ray.

Who knows a little lady
a little pale and quiet,
that travels without pausing,
from the evening to the morning?...
That now she is fat, round and full,
now she is slim that you feel sorry for her?
Then she even disappears…
Dead? What? No fear!
Every night a little slice
and remakes her little tummy…

A dog and a cat were playing happily
from birth they were friends.
The others would say:
“Look how strange,
it’s maybe better if they go far away!”
They thought that it would be a bad case
they couldn’t go further than their nose!

Year 7 Non Italian
1. Alberi di Diego Valeri* 3 punti
Sempre fermi, sempre ritti,
sempre zitti,
come impavidi soldati,
stanno i buoni alberi, armati,
sol di foglie e fiori e frutti,
di cui fanno dono a tutti.
Tutto danno quel che hanno
e per se tengono solo
un gorgheggio d’usignolo
un fischietto di fringuello
un sussurro di ruscello.
2. Quando Piove di O.Cicogna* 2 punti
Quando piove lento lento
e fa freddo e tira vento,
nella casa sta il bambino,
nel suo nido l’uccellino,
nella cuccia il cagnolino,
presso il fuoco il mio gattino.
E il ranocchio senza ombrello?
Sotto un fungo sta bel bello.

Always still, always up right,
always quiet,
like fearless soldiers,
the good trees stay, armed,
only of leaves and flowers and fruits,
of which give as gifts to all.
They give all they have
and for them they only keep
the trill of the nightingale
a whistle of finch
a murmur of the stream.

When it rains slowly slowly
and it is cold and it is windy,
in the house stays a child,
in his nest the bird,
in the kennel the puppy,
near the fire my kitten.
And the frog without umbrella?
Under a mushroom he stays nice nicely.

1. Siamo andati in tutto il mondo di Anonimo 3 punti
We went all over the world
Siamo andati in tutto il mondo,
by Anonymous.
molto grande e rotondo,
per portare gli animali
dritti a casa con le ali.
Il leone adesso corre,
mangia molto e poi dorme.
L’orso bianco ride e nuota,
anche se ha la pancia vuota.
Il canguro adesso salta,
sopra l’erba molto alta
e noi facciamo un grande salto!
We went all over the world,
very big and round,
to bring the animals
right back home with the wings.
The lion now runs,
eats a lot and then sleeps.
The polar bear laughs and swims,
even if it has an empty stomach.
The kangaroo now jumps,
on the grass very high
and we do a big jump!
2. C’e` un uccellino di Antonio Carcuro 2 punti
C’e` un uccellino
che quant’e` carino
come comincia ad albeggiare
cicip cicip cicip cicip attacca a cantare
si posa qua e la` sugli alberi intorno
e lietamente annuncia il giorno
neppure un attimo sto ad indugiare
vado subito fuori per udire cantare
quell’ uccellino tutto giocondo
che la sua felicita` proclama al mondo
e com’e` bello salutare l’arrivo del mattino
con i cicip cicip cicip cicip dell’uccellino!

There is a bird
that is so cute
as it begins to dawn
cicip cicip cicip cicip it begins to sing
it rests here and there on the trees around
and joyfully it announces the day
not even a moment I take to hesitate
I go straight away outside to hear the singing
that bird all delightful
that its happiness it proclaims to the world
and how beautiful it salutes the arrival of morning
with cicip cicip cicip cicip of the bird!
3. Aspetto la Pasqua di Jolanda Restano* 1 punto
Amo i dolci e le caramelle,
le buone torte e le frittelle.
Amo i gelati e le crostate,
e anche le pesche sciroppate!
Sono golosa, ingorda, ghiottona
insaziabile mangiona!
Ma per fortuna mi riesco a controllare
e cerco sempre di non esagerare,
sono una signora, la classe non e` acqua.
Ma aspetto sempre impaziente la Pasqua!

I love the sweets and the lollies,
the good cakes and the donuts.
I love the ice-creams and the pies,
and also the peaches in syrup!
I am greedy, greedy, greedy
insatiable eater!
But fortunately I manage to control myself
and I try also not to exaggerate,
I am a lady, you cannot buy class.
But I always wait impatiently for Easter!

Gia` l’autunno si avvicina,
gia` l’autunno sull’aria vola,
fin sulla porta della scuola.
Sulla porta c’e` un bidello
che fischietta un ritornello,
poi con la faccia scura scura
prova la chiave nella serratura,
prova a suonare la campanella...
Bambino, prepara la cartella!

Autumn is already nearing,
already autumn is flying in the air,
up to the door of the school.
At the door there is the custodian
that whistles a chorus,
then with a dark dark face
tries the keys in the lock,
tries to ring the bell…

Cavallucci in fondo al mare:
anche loro sanno amare
e si scambiano un bacino
nell’ambiente blu marino.
E si scambiano un baciotto
sotto l’ombra in un canotto
poi si scambiano un bacione
mentre affondo un galeone.
E io che cosa devo fare?
per convincerti a baciare
le mie guance rubiconde?
Anch’io andare tra le onde?

Little seahorses at the bottom of the sea:
Even they know how to love
and they exchange a little kiss
in the blue marine environment.
And they exchange a little kiss
under the shadow of a dinghy
then they exchange a big kiss
while a galleon submerges.
And I what I am to do?
To convince you to kiss my rosy cheeks?

3. Vorrei girare tutto il mondo intero di Anonimo* 1 punto
Vorrei girare tutto il mondo intero,
vorrei sapere che cos’e` il mistero,
ma non si puo`, perche` sono piccolina,
sono una bimba piccola cosi.
Allor mi devo per forza accontentare
di stare a scuola sul banco ad imparare,
ma verra` il giorno che grande io saro`
e allora tutto il mondo girero`.

I would like to go around the entire

I would like to know what is the mystery,
but it is not possible, because I am little,
I am a little girl like this.
Then I must be happy
to stay at school at my desk to learn,
but the day will come when I will be big
and then I will go around the world.
