MAXXI National Museum of XXI Century Arts
MAXXI is laboratory of experimentation, study and research.
MAXXI’s mission is to promote XXI century art and architecture and to collect
examples of contemporary artistic creativity, conserving them, studying them and
making them available to the public.
MAXXI represents an awareness of the importance of promoting expressions of
creativity today.
MAXXI spreads Italian values beyond the national borders and is open to the flux of
international culture.

Mission
In line with MAXXI’s cultural mission, the Museum of Architecture is an open and dynamic
international institution utilising the most advanced instruments in order to spread of
knowledge of architecture and testify to its role in society.
The activities of the museum develop along two strands designed to present modern and
contemporary architecture.
MAXXI Architecture is structured in:

Photographs selected both for the artistic value of the imagine, both for the meaning of
the documentary research: imagines with a high poetic and aestethic value, are
expressly commissioned by MAXXI.
