hospitality that has already attracted many backpackers.

a una nuova tendenza dell’ospitalità che ha già conquistato
molti viaggiatori con lo zaino in spalla.

Much more than a hostel, the Hüttenpalast is a revolutionary
project born from recycling, an ecological culture, and meeting.
A family-run hotel, where traditional rooms are partly replaced by
wooden huts and vintage caravans and the great hall, transformed
into an original indoor camp / installation. The “room-in-room”
concept was born from the need to leave as much as possible of the
existing structure intact:an ex-vacuum cleaner factory in Neukölln.
Molto più di un ostello, l’Hüttenpalast è un progetto rivoluzionario
nato all’insegna del recycling, della cultura ecologica, dell’incontro.
Una struttura a conduzione familiare, in cui le tradizionali stanze
sono in parte sostituite da capanne di legno e caravan d’epoca e la
grande hall, trasformata in un originale accampamento/installazione
a cielo coperto. La soluzione “room-in-room” è nata dall’esigenza di
lasciare il più possibile intatta la struttura pre-esistente:
una ex-fabbrica di aspirapolveri di Neukölln.

Those who enter this unique hostel, located in a large Plattenbau
(built with precast concrete slabs) near the Ostbahnhof,
experience the thrill of living on the other side of the wall at the
time of the former German Democratic Republic. The interior
reproduces with maximum fidelity, the design and atmosphere of
‘70s and ‘80s East Berlin, from the wallpaper to the monoblock
“Karat” furniture to the obligatory photos of Party General Secretary
Honecker in every room.
Chi entra in questo straordinario ostello, situato in un grande Plattenbau (edificio costruito con lastre di cemento prefabbricate) nei
pressi della Ostbahnhof, proverà il brivido di vivere dall’altra parte
del muro ai tempi della ex Repubblica Democratica Tedesca.
Gli interni riproducono con la massima fedeltà il design e le atmosfere degli anni ‘70 e ‘80 della Berlino-est: dalla carta da parati, ai
mobili monoblocco “Karat” fino alla obbligatoria foto del segretario
generale del partito Honecker in ogni camera.

Ideally placed between Dam Square and the red light district, with
a unique style, the result of a lively mingling between the XVII
century architecture and the creativity of local artists who have

We now fly to Lisbon, where it is really worth spending a couple of
nights at the Oasis Backpackers Hostel, one of the hostels that
boasts the best average rating in Europe. The walls of the rooms
are decorated with wallpaper that pays homage to the optical
graphics of the ‘70s, while the furnishings offer a successful blend
of vintage and industrial design. All this just a stone’s throw away

from the Meatpacking District, The Jane is a boutique hostel housed
in a 1908 building, that has been able to reconcile the prices and
