WHEN IT CAME te writing their own wedding vows,
Danyelle HeafW thought she would be the mie most like!y
to put pento papa, yet she admits it was mainly her fiancé,
Adam Lakosa, who found the right words tu express their
love and commitment. Not .that she should bave been
surprised, given the roniantic nature ol’ bis proposal during
their New Year break in Botswana. Adam had secretly
~lesigned the engagement ring himself and brought it on
safari,’ explains Danyelle. ‘One night, aller a long day’s
treldcing with the San Men, he asked the camp staff to set up
formalìties at City Hall in New York City jboth arc
Ainerican-bornj and bave a symbolic ceremony and party
in kaly. For us, that was the irnportant part says Danyellc.
The venue they chose was the l3th-century Castello Il
Palagio in the town ofMercataleVa) di Pesa,Thscany.
However, organising a celebration in Ttaly while livin~
and working in London (Adasu works for l3loomberg and
Danyelle is picture editor ori Wedding Day) proved quite a
task. 1t was the most exhausting thing l’ve ever doner
Danyelle admits, ahhough they decided against involvinj
a table with q Iantern and champagne ori mie of those neverending saltpans so that he could propose to me at sunseg
The couple gave theniselves fine months to organise
the wedding and, as ozio of their big passions apart ffrom a
shared love of travelling and sailing Is kaly, there was no
contest fin the locadon of the autumn wedding.’Neither cE
us Is particularly religious, so we decided tu cova the legai
a wedding planner. ‘We toyed with the idea of ari evcnt
organiser but we’re both a bit crazy, you could say neuroùc.
ami very particular about things, so it would never
worked. lnstead we went to ~ee Simone Coppi, who nrnt E
Palagio, severa) times ami it was tze, together with bis wffi.
