Dear IS Modena families,
Welcome back! We hope you’ve enjoyed a pleasant, fun and relaxing ski-week.
Today will be a very special day here at IS Modena, celebrating our international community.
Firstly we hope to repeat the success we had last year for the celebration of the International
Mother Language Day with numerous participation from our multilingual parents.
Furthermore, today we welcome two special visitors from Kindergarten schools in Japan, Ms.
Ann Nishigaya, Education Director & PYP Coordinator of Willowbrook International School,
located in Tokyo, and Mr. Hisao Ihara, Principal of a small Kindergarten in Hokkaido, north Japan.
Our international visitors will spend the day observing our best practices in our Early Years
Department and our Primary Years.
Thank you for taking your time in reading the newsletter, we strongly believe communication
with our community is a crucial aspect of IS Modena and your feedback promotes constant
improvement.

settimana bianca.
Oggi è un giorno molto speciale qui a IS Modena, celebriamo la nostra comunità internazionale.
Innanzitutto speriamo di ripetere il successo che abbiamo avuto l’anno scorso per la
celebrazione della Giornata Internazionale della Lingua Madre con grande partecipazione da
parte dei nostri genitori poliglotti.
Inoltre, oggi diamo il benvenuto a due ospiti speciali provenienti da scuole dell’infanzia in
Giappone, Ms. Ann Nishigaya, Direttrice Educativa & Coordinatrice PYP della Willowbrook
International School, situata a Tokyo, e Mr. Hisao Ihara, Preside di una piccola materna a
Hokkaido, situato nel nord del Giappone. I nostri ospiti internazionali passeranno la giornata
osservando le nostre migliori pratiche nella sezione delle Early Years e Primary.

in electronic format, from ManageBac, and in paper format. As this is a new layout for our
reports we as a staff will be reflecting on it and we would welcome constructive feedback from
you regarding the presentation of the information and clarity of the content.

Vivaio Scuole project, part of the Italian Pavillion at Milan’s Expo 2015. Our students’
projects are visible within the ebook publication.

While in the photo section you are able to see the IS Milan Primary students presenting
in front of Michelle Obama and Secondary students while they entertain the Vatican

This was a fantastic experience and opportunity with which we concluded the
2014/2015 school year.

TUITION FEES FOR 2016-17 PUBLISHED – DEADLINE 20 MARCH
We advise parents that tuition fees for next year are now available. If you have not received your personal
copy please contact the school offices for information. We also advise you to make an appointment with
the Admissions team to register your children as soon as possible and in any case ahead of the 20 March
deadline, after which an additional late payment fee is due. Please remember that registration is not
complete until you sign the new contract with our admissions team, so if you pay the fees by bank transfer
you still need to make an appointment to meet with our admissions staff in person. Currently
enrolled families are guaranteed places until 20 March, when we open admissions to new families.

Informiamo i genitori che sono state pubblicate le rette per il nuovo anno scolastico. Se non avete ricevuto la
vostra copia, vi preghiamo di contattare la segreteria. Vi chiediamo inoltre di fissare un appuntamento con le ns
segretarie per iscrivere i vs figli quanto prima, e comunque non oltre il 20 marzo, termine oltre il quale scatterà la
penale per iscrizione tardiva. Vi ricordiamo che l’iscrizione non è completa finché non firmerete il contratto,
quindi anche se pagate l’acconto via bonifico, dovete comunque fissare un appuntamento per espletare di
persona le formalità. Le famiglie attualmente iscritte hanno diritto di prelazione fino al 20 marzo, quando
apriremo le iscrizioni alle nuove famiglie.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS ARE LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME
Except for the very young children, we expect the students to keep track of their own belongings. Please
discuss this with them. If your child arrives home with clothing or something else that belongs to another
student, please return it to school the next day.
A lost property (Lost & Found Box) is located temporarily in the Medical Room, feel free to check it for
missing items and please keep it tidy.

Ad eccezione dei bambini molto piccoli, ci aspettiamo che gli studenti tengano controllati i loro effetti
personali. Discutetene con Vostro figlio. Se Vostro figlio arriva a casa con abbigliamento o altri oggetti che
appartengono ad altri studenti, siete pregati di restituirli a scuola il giorno seguente.
Gli oggetti smarriti (Scatola degli Oggetti Smarriti) si trova temporaneamente nel locale infermeria,
controllate liberamente e mantenetelo in ordine.
WINTER SEASON
Please make sure students have winter coats for outdoor breaks & activities.

PARKING AREA
All parents must use the public parking area outside the school gate at all times.
Please remember to lock your cars and please make sure you don’t leave any personal belongings in the
car.
Internal parking area is reserved for staff only and the bus service.
PARCHEGGIO ESTERNO
Tutti i genitori devono utilizzare sempre il parcheggio all’esterno del cancello. Ricordatevi di chiudere le
portiere dell’auto e non lasciate borse e borsette in macchina.
