IntroDUZIone
Il Khmer, linguaggio nazionale della Cambogia, è praticato da quasi
quindici milioni di persone.
Il presente dizionario fonetico è indicato per gli italiani che non
dei dizionari khmer di altre lingue.
Può essere utile anche per l`inglese...
Nella lingua khmer non ci sono distinzioni per genere (maschile
o femminile) e numero (singolare o plurale).
I pronomi personali vengono abbondantemente utilizzati
t-niak teu naa? = tu dove vai?).
Apponendo l`avverbio di tempo (o prima o dopo l`inizio della
frase, senza preferenza) si indica presente, passato o futuro
(peel crawi k-gnom chong teu salaah-rien = più tardi io voglio
andare a scuola)
present) si usa “kom-punn” prima del verbo (“k-gnom kom-punn
sosee” = io stò scrivendo).
Per negare si usa:
hòt (k-gnom hòt minn loi = io non ho soldi).
menn (pu-ghei menn chong = essi non vogliono).
Tante parole derivano dal francese (es. rubinèe = rubinetto).
Molte sono composte da altre di senso compiuto: sabaith-chnn
(sabaith [pelle/rivestimento] + chnn [gamba/piede] = scarpa).
L`alfabeto khmer possiede 33 consonanti e 35 tra vocali e
dittonghi.

Praticando il khmer, troverete di certo delle differenze

La lingua parlata e pronunciata e` spesso diversa da quella scritta
Vi accorgerete anche “che le persone non parlano tutte allo stesso
modo...”
anche da riprodurre.
Chiedo scusa per gli errori contenuti.
Le lettere in corsivo sono dittonghi da pronunciare velocemente con
“Cha” va letto come “ci a”.
“Cho” come “ciòo”.
“Chu” come “ciùu”.
“Jup” come “giùp”.
“Jho” come “giò”.
“Koo” come “còo”.
“Ki” come “chi”.
“Wie” come “uiie”.
“Yem” come “iiem” con la “i-lunga”.
