Il suo affisso è Stall Mascot. Oggi ha 63 anni, ma ha comperato il suo primo cane quando ne aveva 10. Era una femmina di
Schnauzer pepe e sale, l’ha portata in esposizione e poi ne ha
avuto cucciolate. Questo è il motivo per cui ancora oggi ha
uno Schnauzer a casa sua.
Ma è anche una persona interessata a qualsiasi tipo di animale, per cui ha comperato una fattoria
dove può tenere i suoi cani, cavalli, ecc. E’ stato educato da agricoltore e per lavoro alleva bestiame.
Dopo aver trascorso alcuni anni in Irlanda a lavorare con i cavalli, levrieri e terrier, è tornato in
Norvegia ed era normale per lui avere alcuni bei terrier nella sua fattoria. Decise così di cercare un
bel Norfolk terrier e lo trovò in Svezia nel 1977, ha iniziato ad esporla, così come faceva con le razze
Norwich terrier e Deerhound, condividendo la sua passione con altri allevatori di levrieri. Hanno
avuto grandi successi e si sono divertiti molto nel tolettare, esporre ed allevare queste tre razze. E’
impossibile ricordare il nome di ogni cane--, la lista sarebbe troppo lunga!!!
Decisero poi di avere anche degli Whippet e, così come è successo con tutte le altre loro razze,
cercarono in tutto il mondo i migliori soggetti con i quali iniziare ad allevare. Anche con i loro Whippet
hanno avuto molto successo nei ring.
E’ diventato giudice da esposizione nel 1990. Ad oggi giudica tutte le razze dei gruppi 3 e 10 ed
alcune dei gruppi 2 e 9.
His prefix is Stall Mascot. He’s 63 years old, and he bought his first dog when he was 10 years of
age. It was a Schnauzer s/p, and he showed her, and bred from her. That is why he still has a
Schnauzer in his house.
He is also a person interested in all animals, so he bought a farm where he could keep his dogs,
horses etc. He is educated as a farmer, and breeds cattle for a living.
After some years in Ireland, working with horses, hounds, and terriers, he returned to Norway, and it
was natural for him to have some nice terriers on his farm. He decided to try to find a nice Norfolk
terrier. He found her in Sweden in 1977, and he started to show her, together with Norwich terriers
and Deerhounds, sharing his “dog-life” with sighthounds breeders.
They had big wins and much fun trimming, showing and breeding those three breeds. It’s impossible
to mention names of any dogs---, the list would be long !!!
They decided as well to have some Whippets, and as with all their other breeds they looked all over
the world to find the best dogs to start their breeding with. They had great success with their Whippets in the show ring
He became a dog judge in 1990. Now he judges all group 3 and 10, some breeds in group 2 and 9.
CLAUDIO MONTEFUSCO (I)
Giudice del gruppo dieci, Claudio Montefusco ha giudicato in più
paesi d'Europa in expo internazionali e raduni di razza. Vice Presidente dell'Amici Bassotto Club, è in cinofilia dal 1989 allevando
Bassotti tedeschi e Whippet con l’affisso “dell’Antica Fortezza”.
Judge of tenth FCI group, Claudio Montefusco judged in most of
European countries at International Shows and Club Specialties.
He’s Vice President of the Dachshund Club of Italy, he’s involved
in the dog world since 1989, breeding German Dachshunds and
Whippets under the affix “dell’Antica Fortezza”.
PAOLA MICARA WATTEN (I)
Paola Micara Watten è una cittadina italiana sposata con un avvocato
norvegese ed abita a nord di Roma. E’ specializzata in lingue e letteratura moderna e parla fluentemente sette lingue.
Ha iniziato la sua attività di allevatrice e giudice di Boxer in Norvegia nei
primi anni ’70 ed è stata membro del comitato d’allevamento ed anche
dello staff editoriale di ‘Boxer Nytt’. Mentre ancora abitava in Norvegia
Paola ha iniziato il suo addestramento a giudice con il kennel club nazionale e la sua prima cucciolata con l’affisso “Watwald”.
Tornata in Italia, Paola ha continuato la sua attività cinofila soprattutto nel Boxer Club d’Italia, per il quale ha
collaborato come direttore per oltre 15 anni, a capo dell’ufficio per la selezione della razza ed il lavoro. E’
stata Vice Presidente del BCI ed editore del Bollettino del Boxer. A livello internazionale, è stata Vice Presidente dell’Atibox.
Paola è stata un allevatore attivo, impiegando le più importanti e comuni linee di sangue continentali e portato con successo al titolo di campione numerosi soggetti, lasciando un impatto positivo sulla razza Boxer in
Italia durante gli ultimi decenni. E’ anche un giudice di selezione ed ha allenato personalmente i Boxer da
lei allevati facendo raggiungere loro i successi più prestigiosi nelle prove di lavoro ed utilità.
Col tempo Paola è rimasta affascinata dalla conformazione, dal carattere e della funzionalità di alcune razze levriere ed ha cercato di trarre vantaggio dalle grandi opportunità di approfondire costantemente gli elementi segreti del loro tipo e del loro aspetto.
Ha sempre affermato che le differenze nei profili della testa e nelle proporzioni del corpo sono solo apparentemente contrapposte, essendo una sfida stimolante per una migliore e più raffinata forma di alta cinologia.
Nella sua attività di giudice Paola ha preso parte ai più importanti appuntamenti continentali ed internazionali, dalla Finlandia nel nord alla Indonesia nel sud, dalla Nuova Zelanda nell’est al Brasile nell’ovest. La
sua abilità nelle lingue straniere le ha dato l’opportunità di mantenere contatti a largo spettro e l’ha fatta
diventare un apprezzato speaker ed autore di importanti pubblicazioni sulla razza.
Paola Micara Watten is an Italian citizen, married to a Norwegian attorney residing north of Rome. She has
majored in languages and modern literature and is fluent in seven languages.
She initiated her Boxer breeding and judging activity in Norway in the early 70's and was part of the breeding Committee as well as on thee editorial staff of 'Boxer Nytt'. While still residing in Norway Paola started
her judging schooling with the national kennel club and her first litters under the kennel name” Watwald”.
Back in Italy Paola continued her canine activity primarily in the national Boxer club where she served as a
director for more than 15 years heading the offices for breed selection and utility. She has been Vice President in the BCI and editor of the Boxer Bulletin. Internationally she has been Vice President of Atibox.
Paola has been an active breeder employing the major current and dominant continental bloodlines and
successfully campaigned various champions leaving a positive impact on the Italian Boxer breed through
recent decades. She is also a certified selection judge and has personally trained her bred Boxers to the top
working and utility honours.
Paola has been gradually fascinated by the shape, temperament and functionality of some hound breeds
and tried to take advantage of great opportunities to deepen constantly the secret keys to their type and
outlines.
She has always maintained that differences in head profiles and body proportions are only apparently contrasting, being a stimulating challenge for a better and even more refined form of
high cynology.
Her judging activity has brought Paola to the major continental and international championship shows from
Finland in the north to Indonesia in the south, from New Zealand in the East and Brazil
in the West. Her capability in foreign languages has given her the opportunity to maintain extensive contacts and made her a treasured speaker and author on important breed issues.
