EXPERTISE OVERVIEW
The studio has been called by the most important international brands to develop projects on different scales, all
acts to the growth of the brand identity and its development: from international events to single installation, from
headquarters to offices or showrooms, from museums to permanent exhibitions, from visual identity projects to
signage and communication design.
Over the years the studio has extended a strong expertise of management and development of projects, in Italy and
abroad, in collaboration with international partners.
Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, co-founders of Migliore + Servetto
Architects, create, together with an international team of architects
and designers, projects characterized by the lightness of design,
the scenographic use of light and materials, able to create
memorable and engaging meeting settings.
ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN
Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto designed the architecture, interior
design and coordinated image of the De Suite Residence, located in
downtown Milan. Based on innovative double level units, the new
building is deeply connected with the industrial background of the
area. They have been invited to many international competitions
and they won various prizes for their architectural projects. For
private clients they developted different private houses, such as
the detached house in Vergo.
In Milan they designed the Mondadori new concept store in 2015
and previously the concept store “Experience Space” for Bticino .
In Beijing, they designed the SK Promotion Center, opened in
2013, to present the SK’s more advanced technologies for new
contemporary cities for the korean company SK Group.
In 2012, they designed the Mediabend Capital Headquarter in New
York, and for Samsung the offices for the Design Division in Milan.
In via della Spiga they designed the Fay store for Tod’s Group and
in Paris the Iceberg store. They also developed retail design for
other fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani, Max Mara, Krizia,
Roger Vivier, Web.
URBAN
Among the numerous awards received, in 2008 they were awarded
with the prestigious XXI ADI Compasso D’Oro for the urban design
project “Look of the City” for Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games
with Italo Lupi, with more than 250 urban installations and the
corporate image of the city.
They conceived, with I. Lupi, the lighting installation of white, red
and green light on the Mole Antonelliana that becomes a strong
resumptive symbol of the Italian flag for the 150th Anniversary of
Italy’s unification (with Philips and Luceplan).
On the occasion of Expo 2015 they have conceived the
“ExpoFlag Boulevard”, an urban ongoing installation (2012-2015)
representing the Nations that joined the international event along
the city center of Milan.
Furthermore, they designed identity and wayfinding of Portello, a
new urban discrict in Milan.
museum
They designed the permanent exhibition of the new “Chopin
Muzeum” in Warsaw, the museum that displays the most extensive
collection about Fryderyk Chopin, after winning an international
competition held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture
and the National Heritage. The museum opened on the 1st
March, 2010.
In Turin, in 2012, they curated the exhibition project of “MDR Museo del Risparmio (the Savings Museum)” for Intesa Sanpaolo
Bank, the first museum of its kind in Europe for its themes and its
exhibition concept; for the Museo Egizio they are creative advisor
and they’ve designed the new logo, the coordinated image, the
exhibition system and the set up of thematic rooms.
Actually, they are working on the permanent exhibition of the new
“Polo Multimediale Leonardo Da Vinci” in the Palazzo Ducale of
Vigevano. For Pesaro City Council they designed the permanent
exhibition system, the bookshop and cafeteria at Palazzo Mosca Musei Civici di Pesaro.
On May 2014 they won the competition for the permanent
exhibition of the new Design Museum For Compasso D’oro Adi
Collection in Milan in the spaces of the ancient Enel electric plant.

For Max Mara they designed the great itinerant retrospective “Coats!
Max Mara, 55 years of Italian fashion” that took place in Berlin
(2006), Tokyo (2007), Beijing (2008) and Moscow (2012) and
they are now designing new spaces for exhibition and temporary
sales in the main malls in Asia. For the Tod’s Grou from 2001 to
2013 they designed many events, product presentations and retail
spaces in Italy, Europe and Asia. Among the recent projects, they
designed “Artworks from the Musée National Picasso in Paris” at
Palazzo Reale in Milan; the exhibition “Constancy & Change In
Korean Traditional Craft 2013” at Triennale di Milano. In the last
year they designed for W Magazine the exhibit “Shooting Stars” at
the LACMA in Los Angeles; the exhibition “Walking Pleasure” for
Moreschi at Triennale di Milano and “Bellissima. L’Italia dell’alta
moda 1945-1968” at Villa Reale in Monza.

and competitions both in Italy and abroad. In 2004 they were involved
in the IX Biennale of Architecture in Venice “Metamorph”, and in 2006
in the exhibition “Scenographies d’architectes” designed by Jean Nouvel
at Pavillon de l’Arsenal in Paris. In 2005, the Triennale of Milan asked
them to design and organize the exhibition “Vuoto x Pieno”, a historic
retrospective on temporary and museum set ups in Italy.
Among the monographic exhibitions on their work there is “Space
Morphing Migliore+Servetto temporary architecture” (Tokyo 2007,
Turin 2008 and Seoul 2010), an itinerant exhibition that goes with the
homonimous book published by Five Continents Editions and “Chopin
Muzeum. Observer / Parteciper / Expérimenter: l’architecture et le design
au service de la musique” at the International Centre for Urbanism,
Architecture and Landscape CIVA, Brussels 2010.
