Definitive proof that clean and crisp styles don’t need to be neutral, enjoy by itself or with fish and white meat. 2011 Muscat d'Alexandria Zibibbo, Barraco Sicilia 60 Zibibbo is the local name for the grape most commonly called Muscat. The natural floral and fruity aromatics have an underlying herbal note that gives the only hint to the dry palate. ‘The Gewürztraminer of the South’ can pair with smoked or cured meat and fish as well as meaty pasta dishes. 2012 Fiano ‘Gaia’ Cantina Giardino Campania 62 These Fiano vines are between 40-70 years old. After 2 days of skin contact follows 6 months of ageing on lees - the dead yeast cells leftover from the fermentation process – and is bottled without filtering. This is a wine with texture and complexity balanced by acidity to complement risotto and fish stews. 2012 Greco ‘T’ara ra’ Cantina Giardino Campania 65 ‘T’ara ra’ is a Greco from one of the highest vineyards in Campania, at 650 metres above sea level. Some time on skins lends grip, while a few months on the lees offers flesh. A more natural grape, this is a pure expression of site, full of grit and smoke. White Wines from Northern Italy — Encompassing the vast regions of Piedmonte in the west to Friuli in the east, all of these whites benefit from the advantage of both cooling mountain 5 influences and the warming effect of both coastal or inland waters. The resultant wines therefore balance ripeness with persistent acidity. 2014 Trebbiano & Garganega Ponte Pietra Veneto 20.5 2014 Gavi di Gavi Bric Sassi, Roberto Sarotto Piemonte 34 2014 Pelaverga ‘Perennis Bellis’ Castello di Verduno Piemonte 35 2013 Arneis Matteo Corregia Piemonte 37.5 2013 Nosiola Gino Pedrotti Alto Adige 40 2013 Soave Classico Gini Veneto 42 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Ronco delle Betulle Friuli Venezia Giulia 42.5 2014 Kerner Cantina Valle Isarco Alto Adige 43 2014 Pigato La Palmetta, Masaretti Liguria 50 2012 Vespaiolo ‘Vignasilan’, Contra Soarda Veneto 51 2013 Collio Malvasia ‘Vigna di 80 Anni’, I Clivi Friuli Venezia Giulia 58.5 2013 Soave Classico Pieropan ‘La Rocca’ Veneto 66 6 2012 Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio & Pinot Bianco 'Olivar’, Cesconi Alto Adige 67 2014 Pinot Grigio Livio Felluga Friuli Venezia Giulia 69 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, Friulano & Pinot Bianco ‘Terre Alte’, Livio Felluga Friuli Venezia Giulia 105 2000 Chardonnay Terlano Alto Adige 230 White Wines from Central Italy — The central plains offer fertile soils for richer grape varietals, producing whites with stone fruit character, hints of almond and more mineral notes when closer to the coast. These wines are made for fish, seafood and pasta dishes. 7 2014 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Frentano Abruzzo 20.5 2014 Pecorino ‘Gabriele’, Poggio Anima Toscana 27 2014 Verdicchio di Matelica Del Cerro, Belisario Marche 39 2014 Vernaccia di San Gimignano Montenidoli Tradizionale Toscana 46 2014 Vermentino ‘Solosole’, Poggio al Tresoro Toscana 46 2014 Trebbiano, Malvasia & Vermentino ‘Arcipressi Bianco’, San Martino Toscana 50 2011 Verdicchio di Jesi Classico Superiore ‘Campo delle Oche’, San Lorenzo Marche 60 2013 Chardonnay ‘I Sistri’, Félsina Berardenga Toscana 62 2012 Trebbiano d’ Abruzzo Emidio Pepe Abruzzo 95 White Wines from Southern Italy, Sardinia & Sicily — Local grape varieties thrive in a wide range of soils across this varied region. The magical islands of Sicily and Sardinia produce wines with unique character, balancing exotic fruit with sea influence. Planting at altitude in Campania & 8 Sicilia allows for the more aromatic grape varieties to slowly develop whilst harnessing their refreshing acidity. 2014 Grillo ‘Uriel’, Poggio Anima Sicilia 25 2014 Vermentino di Sardegna ‘Prisma’, Mura Sardinia 36 2014 Falanghina Cantina del Taburno Campania 37.5 2013 Greco di Tufo Cantina Vadiaperti Campania 39 2011 Minnella Bianco Calabretta Sicilia 41 2014 Etna Bianco Tenuta delle Terre Nere Sicilia 43 2013 Catarratto Porta del Vento 13 Sicilia 44 2013 Nerello Mascallesi Bianco ‘Ciuri’, Terrazze dell’Etna Sicilia 49.5 2013 Grecanico, Riesling & Carricante Vino di Anna Bianco, Anna Martens Sicilia 58 2011 Muscat d'Alexandria Zibibbo, Barraco Sicilia 60 2012 Fiano ‘Gaia’ Cantina Giardino Campania 62 2013 Greco ‘T’ara ra’ Cantina Giardino Campania 65 Orange Wines — Originally created by Radikon and Gravner from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the term ‘Orange wine’ refers to the colour produced from white grape varieties when they have spent time macerating with the grape skins. As a result, the 9 wines have a richer structure and a more powerful style, which are the perfect companion to food, especially with Risotto. 2012 Trebbiano ‘Biancospino’, Fonterenza Toscana 60 Rosé Wines — Below you’ll find food-focused Rosé wines balancing concentrated fruit character with sweet spice, good texture – due to longer maceration on skins – and vibrant acidities to complement a wide range of dishes. 2014 Etna Rosato Tenuta della Terre Nere Sicilia 39.5 2014 ‘Rosa dei Frati’ Ca dei Frati Lombardia 47 2012 Pinot Grigio Radikon Friuli Venezia Giulia 68 Cellar Selection Red Wines — We’ve selected a handful of wines that are a little more unusual, boutique or just plain delicious, perfect for those looking for a vinous discovery! 10 2007 Barbera & Bonarda ‘Macchiona’, La Stoppa Emilia Romagna 69.5 La Stoppa is the jewel in the crown of Emilia-Romanga, producing this rustic and angular yet approachable unfiltered style. It balances earthy notes with a juicy acidity, which pairs beautifully with red meat and cheese. 2008 Syrah ‘Collezione Privata’, Isole e Olena Toscana 110 This year was another outstanding vintage in Tuscany. The Syrah moves slowly in the glass with a beautiful deep garnet red color. On the nose, this wine shows classic pepper and spice aromas, whilst being big and rich on the palate, with savoury character and excellent length. 1999 Merlot Radikon 50cl Friuli Venezia Giulia 150 Although Radikon is most famed for its orange wines, the lone red from this biodynamic estate is a hidden gem. Made only in 50cl and 1l bottles, this never seems to be enough! Soft, rounded tannins, an elegant body and incredible concentration that belies its age; it needs no food, just drink and marvel at the ultimate combination of wine-making skill and natural terroir. Red Wines from Northern Italy — A variety of styles ranging from the elegant yet structured Nebbiolos in the north-west to rich and supple Amarones in the Veneto, whilst international 11 varietals in the Friuli benefit from a freshness borne of the cooler climate. They all share a common juicy acidity that makes them perfect to accompany food. 2014 Merlot & Pinot Nero La Cavea Veneto 20.5 2014 Dolcetto & Croatina Ottavio Rube Rosso Piemonte 28 2015 Bardolino Monte del Fra Veneto 29 2015 Cabernet Franc La Pianure Friuli Venezia Giulia 30 2014 Cabernet Franc ‘Lo Sfuso di Collina’, Monteforche Veneto 32.5 2014 Dolcetto d’Alba Roagna Piemonte 42 2012 Valpolicella Borgomarcellise, Marion Veneto 48 2012 Merlot & Teroldego Rebo, Gino Pedrotti Alto Adige 51 2010 Cabernet Franc Ronco delle Betulle Friuli Venezia Giuli 52 2013 Nebbiolo Langhe Massolino Piemonte 54 2012 Refosco Specogna Friuli Venezia Giulia 55 2013 Valpolicella Superiore ‘Vigna Garzon’ ‘Ruberopan’, Pieropan Veneto 57 2013 Teroldego Rotaliano Elisabetta Foradori Alto Adige 56 2013 Nebbiolo Rosso di Valtellina, Ar. The heat of the south is combatted by clever planting at altitude, allowing the grapes to ripen and mature slowly. The wines balance concentration of flavour with a level of freshness to pair with a variety of food. 2014 Nero d’Avola Cento Cavalli Sicilia 25.5 2013 Cannonau ‘Prisma’, Mura Sardinia 35 2013 Aglianico del Vulture ‘Pipoli’, Vigneti del Vulture Basilicata 39 2014 Etna Rosso Tenuta delle Terre Nere Sicilia 45 2014 Perricone Arturo di Lanzeria, Guccione Sicilia 62 2012 Primitivo Lamile delle Vigne, Cristiano Guttarolo Puglia 63 2007 Primitivo Riserva Gioia del Colle, Fataolne Puglia 65 2013 Frappato Ariana Occhipinti Sicilia 72 2010 Nerello Mascallese ‘Cirneco’, Terrazze dell’Etna Sicilia 80 2009 Aglianico Taurasi, Enza Lonardo Campania 82 Piemonte 25.5 Dessert Wines — 2014 Moscato d’Asti Contero, 37.5 cl 2014 Brachetto d’Acqui 16 Contero, 37.5 cl Piemonte 2012 Vin de Glace, Prié Blanc ‘Chantelune’, Blanc de Morgex, 50cl Valle d’Aosta 27.5 52 2005 Vin Santo Félsina Berardenga, 37.5 cl Toscana 65 2011 Recioto Classico ‘Giovanni Allegrini’, Allegrini, 50cl Veneto 70 2010 Moscato Passito di Strevi Marenco, 37.5 cl Piemonte 75 — 2009 Late Bottled Vintage Port Niepoort, 70cl Douro, Portugal 55 20yo Tawny Port Quinta de la Rosa, 50cl Douro, Portugal 68 — Sparkling N.V.
