Pak Sheung Chuen (Hong Kong, 1977 - vive e lavora tra Hong Kong e New York) è un artista
concettuale, performer e scrittore; è stato editorialista per le arti visive sul quotidiano di Hong Kong
“Mingpao”. Il suo lavoro è una profonda riflessione, al tempo stesso poetica e ironica, sulla realtà
quotidiana. Vincitore nel 2005 del premio Overseas Exchange Prize (Chinese Performance Art)
assegnato dal Museo di Macao. Una borsa di studio della Lee Hysan Fundation assegnata nel 2006
dall’Istituto Asiatico di Cultura gli consente di iniziare a lavorare a New York.
Tra le esposizioni ricordiamo: Triennale di Guangzhou (2008), Triennale di Yokohama (2008),
Biennale di Busan (2006). Un suo lavoro permanente è installato alla biblioteca 58th Street Branch di
New York. Ha pubblicato due libri: Odd One In: Hong Kong Diary e See Walk What on 1 July.

Laureato in Fine Arts alla Chinese University di Hong Kong; laurea breve in Teologia.

Fonda il “2nd Floor 5 Sons Studio” a Fotan con quattro compagni di classe.

Editorialista per le arti visive sul quotidiano di Hong Kong “Mingpao” (fino al 2006).
2005
Pubblica due libri: “See Walk What on 1 July” and “Odd One In: Hong Kong Diary”.
Vince l’Oversea Exchange Prize assegnato dal museo d’Arte di Macao nell’ambito della
mostra “Inward Gazes – Documentaries of Chinese Performance Arts” (2005)
2006
Partecipa a numerose mostre internazionali tra cui la Biennale di Busan. Vince una borsa di
studio di 12 mesi negli U.S.A. assegnata dalla Fondazione Lee Hysan per l’Asian Cultural
Council.
