The overall Double Degree experience was amazing. First of all Barcelona is the perfect meeting point
for young people: dynamic, full of history, energy and creativity. At ESADE you have the
opportunity to get in touch with an extremely multicultural environment. Moreover, students
involvement in extra-curricular activities and association makes ESADE a culturally lively and
provocative context. However, administrative procedures are not that easy and require a lot of
patience and flexibility. Academically, I was expecting more. Too many time-consuming activities
without a real reward in learning.
Indica quali sono state le principali differenze con il sistema accademico Bocconi (rapporto con i
docenti, qualità della didattica, procedure amministrative, qualità delle informazioni)/
Please list the main differences with Bocconi’s academic system (relation with the professors,
teaching quality, administrative procedures, quality of information).
The interaction student-professor is high. Classes are smaller than at Bocconi and the relationship
with professors less formal. The teaching quality was sometimes really high. However, in other cases
the English level wasn't enough for an international business school. The multicultural approach was
definitely not applied to the faculty. Evaluation criteria: Group works count for more than 50% of the
grade. Class participation is fundamental and very important for the final grade. The final exam
counts 20-30% of the final grade. Therefore getting a good grade is not difficult at all, but this doesn't
challenge you to improve also because at the very end the final mark doesn't reflect what you have
learned.

Italian and foreign professors and the timing for completing the work.
I had to write a master thesis proposal in April. Right now I'm managing the relationship with my
ESADE tutor by email quite easily while writing my thesis in Italy.

Career service is extremely efficient. They follow personally the situation of each student, giving you
specific advice in defining your professional path, applying to job offers, getting ready for an
interview.

Business in Society - Sales Management - International Marketing Strategy - Brand Management (very
interacting and well structured) - Retail Innovation (wow! 1 semester project where you have to
develop a business plan to present in front of "possible investors" at the end of the semester)- Leading
Management Consulting Firms (Best one! A lot of work every week, but extremely interesting course
with an amazing professor) - Design Management

consigli/Accomodation : please explain the various housing options (private apartment , University
Dormitory), how you found the accomodation, costs and suggestions.
Renting a flat in Barcelona is the most common option and the best one if you want to enjoy the city
(45min to reach the university campus). I found through agency a flat close to Plaza Catalunya and
the ferrocarril with other 3 ESADE students. The cost of a single room was 450e all inclusive.

Flight tickets very cheap with Vueling or Ryanair. Cost of living roughly like Milan.

Double degree was the best experience I've ever done. It allows you to grow personally and
professionally, to meet amazing people from all over the world, to build incredibly strong
relationships.

Please list the main differences with Bocconi’s academic system (relation with the professors,
teaching quality, administrative procedures, quality of information).
In ESADE relationships are definitely more informal than in Bocconi. The classes are small and at the
end you know everybody and everybody knows you, professors included. Classes are very practical
and case-based, which means that you work a lot on groups and through class participation, but
sometimes you have the feeling you are not learning (I think it's not true though). Group work is the
thing I mostly enjoyed. Administration in ESADE is not really reactive, so you have to keep pressure
on them to get something and information sometimes is poor. If you are from Management (M) they
won't probably waive some of your exams during the first semester.

Yes I did, especially the career service

One of the things I liked most was the compulsory Spanish class we were attending every day.

I attended: International business strategy, International marketing strategy, International finance,
Managing people globally, Business in society, Global supply chain, Mergers & Acquisitions, Retail
Innovation. The most interesting ones were for sure: 1. International Business Strategy (practical,
interesting, the professor is the real added value of the class) 2. International Finance (the class is not
really advanced, but the case you do is one of the best learning experience ever) 3. Mergers &
Acquisitions (very useful and interesting, again the professor is the real added value) 4. You also had
the opportunity to follow a seminar somewhere in the world. I went to Singapore, awesome! The
worst ones: 1. Managing people globally 2. Global supply chain (it has great potential, but it was not
carried on well by the professors)

I don't suggest the "ESADE resa" because it's out of Barcelona (Campus is in Sant Cugat) and very
expensive. I suggest going to Barcelona and find a flat there with flatmates or locals. Best locations:
Gracia or Eixample. I found the flat using local websites.

Life in Barcelona is a little bit cheaper than in Milan, but you tend to spend a lot going out.. Flat is
around 400 euros, you can find cheap flights to Italy and food is not too expensive.
