BIOGRAPHY
Chiara Rapaccini, aka RAP, was born in Florence where she graduated in pedagogy. She currently lives in
Rome where she is head of the child illustration faculty at the European Design Institute. A designer,
painter, illustrator, sculptor, she also writes and illustrates children and adult books for major Italian
publishers. Her vignettes appear regularly on the Espresso magazine, she collaborates with Espresso
online as a blogger and with Linkiesta as a correspondent.
She has collaborated as an illustrator for Il Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Il Manifesto, L'Espresso,
Liberal and L'Unità.
In 2008 with Mario Monicelli she wrote and produced the documentary "Vicino al Colosseo c'è Monti"
(Near the Coliseum you'll find Monti) and also designed the poster for his film "Le rose del deserto" (The
desert roses) as well as the graphics and the book Le Mosche del Deserto (The desert flies) published by
Maschietto Editore.
Personal shows of her work have been premiered in Rome, Milan, Naples, Genoa and Venice. Her works are
also on show in the permanent collection of the GAM in Genoa and the Azumino Museum in Japan.
In 2012 she received a career accolade from the Council of Frascati.
Chiara Rapaccini writes the satirical leaflet "Amori Sfigati" (Hapless love) that has been very successful
in Italy and abroad and inspired her book "Amori Sfigati" published by Franco Cosimo Panini.
Her project “MARIO MONICELLI AND RAP, 100 YEARS OF CINEMA" has been displayed In New York, Buenos
Aires, Cuba and Italy, in Naples and Venice; at the Cinema Biennale in 2015 and, together with the
photogarpher Andrea Vierucci, at the GAMC Lorenzo Viani in Viareggio, during the Lucca Film Festival
2016. In 2016 she received the "Andrea Pazienza" Award as the best Web author.
In November 2016 she published her lates novel “BAIRES” (Fazi Editore).
