Una delle prime cose che scopri qui è che ci sono mille modi
di muoversi e di camminare. E vorrai provarli tutti. Dalla
semplice passeggiata cittadina a più impegnativi trekking
su cime fino a 2.350 metri, da dove si spalanca una vista incantevole sull’intero Altopiano e oltre.
Se poi, magari per pura curiosità, oltre agli scarponi ai piedi prendi anche due bastoncini da nordic walking in mano,
scopri anche che non si cammina solo con le gambe, ma con
tutto il corpo, moltiplicando la soddisfazione e il benessere.
Vivi il piacere di camminare da solo, per sentire solo i rumori
silenziosi della natura, o in compagnia per condividere tutta questa bellezza, oppure accompagnato da guide esperte
che ti svelano ogni segreto di questi luoghi, dagli elementi
naturali ai segni della Grande Guerra che riemergono ancora
dal terreno e dalla memoria.
C’è poi chi non si accontenta di camminare e vuole affrontare di corsa, con bussola e cartina alla mano, questi boschi
che sembrano fatti apposta per gli amanti dell’orienteering.
Altri preferiscono invece lasciarsi trasportare in mezzo alla
natura in sella a un cavallo, senz’altro pensiero che quello di
guardarsi attorno, incantati da ciò che li circonda.
E questi sono solo alcuni modi di vivere Asiago e l’Altopiano.

One of the first things you discover in this area is that there are thousands of different ways
to move through the landscape. And you might like to try them all: from a simple stroll in the
town, to the more demanding hiking along the trekking paths in the mountains that get until
2,350 mt high where a fascinating view opens wide over the whole Plateau.
And then maybe driven by curiosity, before hitting a path wearing proper trekking boots, you
may decide to take with you a couple of Nordic walking poles, so to discover that you can walk
not just with your legs but with all your body, increasing the sense of satisfaction and well-being.
You can enjoy the pleasure of a solitary walk listening to the silent, discreet noises of nature, or you
can share such immense beauty in company of others. You can even choose to get an expert guide
to lead you through every secret of these places, going from the natural elements that characterize
the area, to the remains of the First World War that still re-emerge from the ground and the memory.
One may just not be satisfied by a simple trekking and might prefer to run, living the experience of
visiting these woods - that seem to be done just for the orienteering enthusiasts - just relying on a
compass and a map.
There are also others who prefer riding a horse and being carried through nature, just looking around
themselves, completely fascinated by the marvellous sight that surrounds them.
And these are only some of the many ways you can live Asiago and its Plateau.

The Plateau boasts more than 500 kilometres of country
roads available: it is very hard to resist the temptation of
jumping on your bike and start riding along these exciting
roads that are just waiting for you.
There are infinite paths you can follow, or maybe you can
invent some yourself: the landscape gives you plenty of possibilities from this point of view. And if you are a beginner,
do not worry, because as soon as you leave the centre of
the town you will immediately find yourself immersed in a
fascinating natural landscape. Day by day, you will enjoy the
pleasure of bike tours with ridings getting more and more
long and exciting.

and expert trainers to start in the best possible way a compelling adventure on two wheels.

Cultura e natura qui sono così legate che spesso è impossibile
distinguerle.
La cultura infatti si respira nei musei e nelle gallerie d’arte, ma anche tra i monti, dove scopri musei all’aperto che rievocano le battaglie della Grande Guerra o le parole dello scrittore asiaghese Mario
Rigoni Stern, cave di pietra trasformate in opere d’arte, installazioni
contemporanee sparse nel verde, villaggi preistorici riportati alla luce,
incisioni rupestri del neolitico, i 4444 gradini della Calà del Sasso che
uniscono la montagna alla pianura, e tante altre testimonianze frutto
dell’incontro fra l’opera della natura e quella dell’uomo. Quasi senza
accorgertene, ti ritrovi in luoghi dove ancora riecheggiano tradizioni e
leggende del passato.
E se ciò che vedi attorno non ti basta, puoi sempre alzare gli occhi al
cielo, con una visita all’Osservatorio Astrofisico dell’Università di Padova,
che da Asiago lancia il suo sguardo verso le stelle.

In this area, culture and nature are so deeply linked that it is often
impossible to tell one from the other.
You can breathe culture in museums and art galleries but also in the
mountains, which are real outdoor museums recalling the great battles of the First World War or the words of writer from Asiago Mario
Rigoni Stern. You can also find quarries transformed in real piece of
art; contemporary installations scattered in the landscape; prehistoric
villages brought back to light; rock engravings dating back to the Neolithic; the 4444 steps of the Calà del Sasso that link the mountain to the
plain, and many other evidences of the joined action of nature and men.
You will suddenly find yourself walking through lands where traditions
and legends are still lingering as an echo from the past.
Visiting the Astrophysics Observatory of the University of Padua, you can
also “lift your eyes to the sky” glancing at stars and planets.

its food. Asiago and the Plateau are no exception offering you

It is very difficult to resist the variety of cheeses that give off
the scent of herbs and flowers, sweets that have the smell
of just natural ingredients, mushrooms, cold cuts, potatoes,
honey, jams and many other gastronomic temptations you

All you have to do is just choosing according to your own

Take the motorway A4 Serenissima (Milan-Venice). When
you are approaching the Vicenza Est exit, take the motorway A31 Valdastico until the Piovene Rocchette exit.
From here take the Costo SP 349 and proceed where you
get to Asiago.
If you arrive from Austria, take the motorway A22 Brennero in the direction of Bolzano and Trento, passing through
Lavarone and the Vezzena Plateau.

There are trains leaving from Milan and from Venice going
to Vicenza; otherwise, you can reach Thiene or Bassano
del Grappa by train and then take the bus from there.
By bus
There are daily bus connections from Vicenza, Padova,
Bassano del Grappa and Thiene.
There are also daily connections from Milan by motorway,
but only during high season; in this case a minimum number of passengers is required.
By plane
The nearest airports are: Venice (110 km), Treviso (130 km)
and Verona (105 km). On request, a shuttle service from
the airports to Asiago is available.
In Asiago there is also a tourist airport with a concrete
runway for light aircrafts.
