Stefano Giovannoni, nato a La Spezia
nel 1954, si è laureato alla Facoltà di
Architettura di Firenze nel 1978. Vive e
lavora a Milano. Dal 1979 al 1991 ha
svolto attività didattica e di ricerca alla
Facoltà di Architettura di Firenze. È
stato professore di master alla Domus
Academy, all’Università del Progetto di
Re gg io E m ilia e p ro f ess ore in
Industrial Design all’Università di
Architettura a Genova. Lavora come
industrial e interior designer ed
architetto, è specializzato in prodotti in
plastica. Ha collaborato con aziende
come Alessi, Amore Pacific, Artsana,
Bisazza, Cederroth, Deborah, Elica,
Fabbrica Pelletterie Milano, Fiat,
Hannspree, Hanssem, Helit, Henkel,
Honeywell, Inda, KDDI, Kokuyo,
Laufen, Lavazza, LG Hausys, L'Oreal,
Magis, Maletti, Meglio, Mikakuto,
Moooi, Nestlé, Nissan, NTT Docomo,
Oras, Oregon Scientific, Papernet,
Promelit, Pulsar, Replay, Samsung,
Seiko, Shaf, Siemens, Skitsch,
Sodastream, SPC, Star, Telecom,
Toto, 3M, Toto, Tubes, Veneta Cucine,
Vondom e ZTE. Ha disegnato prodotti
di grande successo commerciale tra
cui, per Alessi, le serie Girotondo e
Mami, i prodotti in plastica, il Bagno
Alessi e la serie “Bombo” per Magis.
Nel 1980 ha vinto il primo premio al
Concorso “Shinchenchiku Residential
Design Competition” con giudice Kisho
Kurokawa ed il “Concorso per una
Piazza a Santa Croce sull’Arno”. Nel
1985 ha vinto il secondo premio al
Concorso “Shinchenchiku Residential
Design Competition” con giudice
Tadao Ando.
Nel 1989 ha vinto il
“Concorso per la ristrutturazione del
centro storico di Castel di Sangro”
insieme a A. Branzi e R. Buti. Nel
1991 ha progettato il padiglione
italiano per la mostra “Les Capitales
Europeennes du noveau design” al
Centre Georges Pompidou.
I suoi
oggetti di design hanno ricevuto il
premio “Design Plus” alla Fiera di
Francoforte, nelle edizioni Ambiente
1994, 1996, 2003, 2005 e 2009; il
premio “100% design” a Londra nel
1997, il premio “Forum Design
Hannover” nel 1999, il premio “ISH”
nel 2003, il Chicago Atheneum “Good
Design Award” nel 2010 e il “New York
Interior Design 2012 Award”.
Stefano Giovannoni, born in La Spezia
in 1954, graduated from the Faculty of
Architecture in Florence in 1978. He
lives and works in Milan. From 1979 to
1991, he held teaching and research
at the Faculty of Architecture in
Florence. He was professor of the
master at the Domus Academy, the
University Project of Reggio Emilia and
professor in Industrial Design at the
University of Architecture in Genoa.
Worked as an industrial and interior
designer and architect, specializes in
plastic products. He has worked with
companies such as Alessi, Amore
Pacific, Artsana, Bisazza, Cederroth,
Deborah, Bow, Leather Factory Milan,
Fiat, Hannspree, Hanssem, Helit,
Henkel, Honeywell, Inda, KDDI,
Kokuyo, Laufen, Lavazza, LG Hausys,
L 'Oreal, Magis, Maletti, Better,
Mikakuto, Moooi, Nestle, Nissan, NTT
Docomo, Oras, Oregon Scientific,
Papernet, Promelit, Pulsar, Replay,
Samsung, Seiko, Shaf, Siemens,
Skitsch, Sodastream, SPC, Star,
Telecom , Toto, 3M, Toto, Tubes,
Veneta Cucine, Vondom and ZTE. He
designed very successful commercial
products such as, for Alessi, the
Girotondo and Mami series, plastic
products, Bagno Alessi and the series
"Bombo" for Magis. In 1980 he won
first prize in the "Shinchenchiku
Residential Design Competition" with
Judge Kisho Kurokawa and
"Competition for a square in Santa
Croce". In 1985 he won second prize
in the "Shinchenchiku Residential
Design Competition" with Tadao Ando
as judge. In 1989 he won the
"Competition for the renovation of the
historic center of Castel di Sangro"
with A. Branzi and R. Buti. In 1991 he
designed the Italian Pavilion for the
exhibition "Les Capitales Europeennes
du nouveau design" at the Centre
Georges Pompidou. His design objects
have received the "Design Plus" at the
Frankfurt fair, in the editions
Environment 1994, 1996, 2003, 2005
and 2009; the award "100% Design" in
London in 1997, the prize "Forum
Design Hannover" in 1999, the prize
"ISH" in 2003, the Chicago Athenaeum
"Good Design Award" in 2010 and
"New York Interior Design Award
2012"
