Father
My dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ,
eace be with you!
P
First of all I
would like to
thank you all personally for the love,
care and collaboration
that you share with the
parish community as we
try together to glorify God
through our lives. This year in
my Christmas message I would
like to share with you from the context of the Jubilee Year of Mercy that Pope Francis
inaugurated on December 8, 2015 , a graceful year to
pray for the mercy of God for all. As we read in many
places Christmas is all about Jesus Christ, this Jesus
Christ is the Son of God who is merciful . To say in the
words of Pope Francis, “Jesus Christ is the face of the Father’s mercy. Jesus of Nazareth, by his words, his actions,
and his entire person reveals the mercy of God”. (Misericordiae Vultus, 1) Jesus who shared life with us knowing
the suffering of many, he acted compassionately, acted to
care with love and to alienate the suffering.
In this year in our Christmas celebrations, let us enter
into the attitude of Jesus by “rediscovering those corporal works of mercy - to feed the hungry, give drink to the
thirsty, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, heal the
sick, visit the imprisoned and bury the dead, and let us
not forget the spiritual works of mercy - to counsel the
doubt, instruct the ignorant, admonish sinners , comfort
the afflicted, forgive offences, bear patiently those who do
us ill, and pray for the living and the dead.” (Misericordiae
Vultus , 15).
It is my prayer that all families of our parish become
islands of mercy - caring persons and our communities. I
wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
I would like to invite you all as a parish community to
join in our parish initiatives for this Year of Mercy, like
Eucharistic adoration every Friday (6-7 pm), monthly
learning sessions, pilgrimages, joining the group of visitors of mercy to our sick and elderly brethren. Let us be
merciful as our heavenly Father is merciful.

A Year of Mercy Mission
Trip to India

Mission Trip to India on the
first week of April, 2016. This
will serve as a wonderful opportunity for you to visit first
hand the CFIC mission centres
where the poor children whom
you are supporting are housed
and cared for.
