An event as significant as the reopening of the marque’s historic museum at
Arese – held on 24 June 2015, the day on which Alfa celebrates its 105th anniversary – could hardly not be celebrated with a book. The official catalogue of the
new museum represents an opportunity to review the history of the marque and
above all to accompany the reader/visitor around the new exhibition layout in
which the cars have been thematically grouped and subdivided. The glorious racing cars (from the P2 to the 33 in all their variants, through to the less successful
cars) are brought together under the section VELOCITÁ introduced by Alfa Romeo
driver Nino Vaccarella, while cars such as the 1759, 8C 2900, 6C 2500, 1900,
Giulietta and Alfetta, along with the most recent production models, illustrate
the Biscione’s industrial history in the TIMELINE section – introduced by
American journalist Nick Czap. The section BELLEZZA – introduced by designer
Lorenzo Ramaciotti, head of Style for the Fiat Group for years – focuses on cars
such as the 33 Stradale, the Carabo and the Nuvola, milestones in the evolution
of automotive styling. The catalogue is therefore an indispensable instrument for
all those visiting this authentic temple of history, technology and culture.
technology and lightness. Now that I have presented the underlying
principles of the project, I will continue by describing the exhibition
layout, which I have imagined as the storyboard of an experience, almost
a film, which in which the visitor is immersed from his or her arrival
in the car park to the end of the itinerary, in a crescendo of emotions
that succeed each other in a tightly-structured and varied sequence.
THE MUSEUM ITINERARY: A STORYBOARD
On arriving at the museum the visitor is struck by the red canopy,
an eye-catching new sign that shows how the administrative complex
has been transformed and that guides the visitor from the car park to
the museum. The design is dynamic and brings to mind “Alfa Romeo
genetics”. The canopy then penetrates the building and continues as
a red band running along the whole itinerary through the “basement”:
like a Virgil guiding visitors to the real museum. After traversing the
building the red band emerges to create the new volume of the entrance
to the Museum. This tubular volume, with a very automotive design,
is highly visible from the motorway and is integrated in the museum
building like an architectural implant. The interior space contains the
escalator that carries visitors up to the exhibition, enveloping them in
the projection of films showing cars in motion. At the end of the ascent
the large space of the museum opens out. The vision begins.
The first area on the itinerary is the Timeline, which takes up the whole
of the first floor. Here there is a visual summary of the evolution of the
marque, with a selection of the 19 most characteristic cars, arranged
like the spokes of a wheel in a great chronological circle. Each car has
its own multimedia information panel, with historical and technical
information, pictures and video clips outlining the value of the model
on display. The exhibition concludes with a smart-tech “interactive
memory” workstation allowing visitors to access a database giving indepth information about the history of Alfa Romeo cars.
In the centre of the circle is the Alfa Romeo DNA installation, consisting
Renderings offering a preview of the interior of the red tubular structure in which
the escalator leading to the museum is situated and the red canopy, on the following
page, that welcomes visitors and accompanies them towards the entrance.

Displacement
From the earliest phases of its development, the chassis of the Tipo C could be used with both the
tried and trusted straight-eight engine based on that of the Tipo B and a new V12, another of Jano’s
projects, which was just about to see the light of day. A ladder-type chassis composed of pressedsteel longerons and cross-members and above all independent suspension on all four wheels –
oblique arms and transverse leaf-springs with hydraulic friction dampers at the rear, and one oblique
and one transverse arm, and coil springs, encased in a cylinder with an integral hydraulic damper at

For the first time, one of the major names in Italian car design tells his story from
the beginning; from when he made his first sketches on paper, unbeknown to his
parents and not only of cars, to reaching a point at which his name became synonymous with some of the best known and most important cars on the international front. Images of an epoch, designs from his own personal archive never
previously seen and, above all, a passionate first person account. Those are the
key elements of this outstanding book which, through the creations of Leonardo
Fioravanti, covers over 40 years of the history of automobile style and culture.
About the author
Leonardo Fioravanti was born in Milan in 1938 and graduated from the Milan
Polytechnic in mechanical engineering in 1963. He worked with Pininfarina for
23 years, where he personally designed some of the most famous Ferraris, until
he became the managing director and director general of Pininfarina Studi &
Ricerche SpA. From 1988 to 1991 he worked for the Fiat Group, first as deputy
director general of Ferrari and managing director of Ferrari Engineering, later becoming responsible for advanced design and CRF; after that he
became director responsible for the Fiat Car Styling Centre. In 1987, he founded Fioravanti srl as a studio of architecture and in 1991 he broadened the
company’s industrial services activity, especially the design of means of transport. He collaborated with the world’s most prominent car manufacturers and has registered over 30 international patents, not only in the automotive field.

For 30 years Franco Gozzi worked side by side with Enzo Ferrari, first as a press officer and then as team manager, becoming much
more than just an advisor and confidant. In all those years spent with Enzo Ferrari, Gozzi was a privileged witness to events, anecdotes, motor sport triumphs and bitter defeats, not only concerning the Maranello company but also the world of motor sport
itself. The crystal clear recollections of the Commendatore's right hand man are used to reconstruct this long and fascinating story
of happenings and, more than anything else, of the drivers – from Alberto Ascari to Lorenzo Bandini, Gilles Villeneuve to Michael
Schumacher – as well as wealthy customers and show business personalities. All of them come alive again in this authoritative
and compelling book illustrated with a vast collection of pictures and documents, many of them previously unpublished.

For more than a half century Italian body builders were the leaderS of world
style, generating creativity, a trend towards innovation and an ability of execution that appears super-human today. The aesthetic values and technology
expressed by their work transmitted Italian culture and genius across the globe.

Their creations were multiplied in millions of examples, influencing taste and
trends in car design, among other things, in every corner of the world. But in
spite of the dimensions and importance of their work, the Italian body stylists
were often undervalued. This book brings together the profiles of no fewer than
36 of the best known stylists in the history of Italian car design: they include
Allemano, Bertone, Castagna, Ghia, Pininfarina, Touring, Vignale and Zagato.
The story of each one of them is told through the extraordinary wealth of their iconographic
patrimony, most of

The story of Alfa Romeo, the prestigious Italian marque which has created some of the
most memorable cars of all time during its 100 year-plus history,
is told by specification after specification in a “virtual
gallery” of many of the models produced by the company, both road-goers and racers. The 1750 GS of the
1930s, the 8C 2900 B, the Giulietta, the Giulia, the 33s,
the Alfettas right up to the most modern 8C
Competizione are just some of the cars that find a place
in this long catalogue in which the illustrations of
Michele Leonello, the authoritative car designer, come
together with the words of Lorenzo Ardizio, the expert on
the history of Alfa Romeo.

Now in it’s fourth edition, “Tutto Ferrari” brings together over 200 designs created by the talented and prestigious hand of Giorgio Alisi, which retrace the great and fascinating history of the
Prancing Horse model by model. From 1940 and the birth of the 815 Auto Avio Costruzioni, the
“preview Ferrari”, to the brand new 488 GTB, the latest addition to the glorious stable of 8cylinder turbo Ferrari sports coupés. In this “virtual gallery”
the entire production of Ferrari appears in chronological
order, sub-divided into grand tourers, sports racers and
Formula 1 single-seaters. Each car is individually illustrated
and has it’s own technical specification, plus a short description of its main technical sporting aspects. The work is completed by a role of honour that lists all the principal successes achieved by Maranello in almost 70 years of racing.

Maserati became 100 years old in 2014. A century of
history, graced by some of the greatest technicians,
racing drivers, cars and victories. So it is time to devote
a ‘catalogue’ to the celebrated House of the Trident that
brings together almost all its production, from the Tipo
26 – the Grand Prix racer with which the Maserati brothers first became constructors back in 1926 – to current
production cars like the GranTurismo, Quattroporte,
Ghibli and the brand new Kubang. Between the two came road and racing cars that were true
icons of automobile history. The first group includes, among others, the A6 1500, 3500 and
5000 GT, the Ghibli, Indy and Merak; the second the astounding 8CTF, the A6GCSs, the 250 F,
the “Birdcage” and the more recent MC12. The book includes 150 full colour designs by illustrator Michele Leonello.

Porsche, the great Stuttgart-based manufacturer, certainly needs no introduction. In over 60
years, it has built unforgettable road and racing cars, which have every right to be part of the
fabric of motoring and motor sport history. Their designations may be numbers, but behind
each one of them there is a legendary car; the 356, 911, 928 and 959, the 550, 906, 908, 917,
956 and 962 are just some of the cars that make up this first “virtual gallery”.

The 540 project – or the American roadster,
which has always been surrounded in mystery: the details of the car are unknown. If
that car would have been of a small production run and sometimes different from
the other, then the 540 was the basis for
the successful generations of the Speedster.
The photograph shows the extremely light
and precarious hood, which had to be considered just about equal to an emergency
device as bad weather protection.

1952
Sixteen cars produced and, for many, a car of mystery are enough to ensure the
540 model and type became part of the Porsche legend, one that was also called the
American Roadster, the forerunner of the of the 356 Speedster. The Roadster first
appeared –even if in the USA it was often called the Speedster – in 1952, but its roots
went back to the origins of Porsche itself and the Number 1, many of the features of
which were repeated, like its essential lines and the windscreen that was reduced to
a minimum. The mechanics were, of course, different with the engine overhanging
the rear axle as on the normal 356 instead, of the central position of No. 1. This time,
the initiative was that of Max Hoffman, the veteran importer to the United States of a
substantial number of European marques, and his request for a car that was light with
refined aerodynamics and handling, the key weapons with which to challenge the
North America’s home-grown giant cars as well as the sporty Jaguars and Ferraris.
Those were the cars that laid down the law in the widespread challenge between gentlemen drivers, especially the Californians. The chassis was that of the normal 356, but it was
reinforced to compensate for the lesser rigidity of the aluminium body styled by Heuer of
Weiden, near Nuremburg. The 1300 cc power unit put out 62 hp and its consequent power
to weight ratio of 11.1 kg/hp ensured top level performance. There were no fewer than
three versions of the Roadster that could be distinguished, more than anything else, by the
dimensions of their wheel arches, large on the first series and reduced in size on the second.
They also adopted for the first time the double cooling grill on the bonnet, as would appear
on the future Carrera, and the same as the third 356. The end of the American Roadster
coincided with the collapse of Heuer in December 1952 which, having undervalued the
times and costs, soon found out it was losing as much as DM 1,600 with every car it built.

This book is distinguished from other publications thanks to a number of innovative,
original features. It gives centre place to the images of the various models in question,
specifically the Abarth racing GTs, privileging contemporary photographs, almost all of
them previously unpublished. The period examined runs from 1949, the year of the official founding of Abarth & C, through to 1971, the conclusion of Abarth’s independent
history with its acquisition by Fiat. The book examines only those cars that were raced
and they are all documented within the context of specific events.
The main aim of the text is to record, year by year, the most evident aesthetic and
mechanical modifications made to the individual models. The documentation has all
been drawn from rigorously contemporary books, magazines and official programmes
and has been faithfully reproduced.

TZ-TZ2
The autor, who has already written a monograph on the racing Alfa Romeo Giuliettas
(SV, SVZ, SS and SZ), has taken on the fascinating task creating a book on the TZ, the
car with which Alfa tried to make its comeback on the international motor racing scene
of the early Sixties. Taking the lead from the models that quickly led to the birth of the
TZ, the book covers the entire development of the car in an analytic manner, from the
design stages to the first tests right through to subsequent developments that meant
the car achieved success in every corner of the world. The logical evolution of the TZ
was the TZ2, an iconic car to which the second part of the book is devoted. A series of
interviews gathered over the years with the leaders of the period, a list of all the motor
sport results achieved by both the TZ and the TZ2 between 1963 and 1968, as well as a
series of highly personal recollections of the author’s, all of which comprise further
chapters in the book. A complete and articulated tableau of an Italian story, from the
immediate post war period to the boom and re-birth.

The Hyena is a beautiful car, but one practically unknown to the general public. A car
that could have repeated and even surpassed the commercial and sporting success of
the Lancia Delta Integrale from which it was derived. Unfortunatley just 24 examples
were produced due to the debateable decision taken by the Fiat/Lancia directors of
the time. Following a rapid review of the evolution of the Lancia Delta over the year,
this book, written by an enthusiastic collector, examines the difficult genesis of the
Hyena, from the first steps with the publication of the very first (previously unpublished) sketches and numerous photos and then follows its development, engineering
and production through to its presentation at the car shows and in brochures.
All 24 Lancia Hyenas are examined, with the intention of reconstructing their specifications, their destination and the country in which they are jealously conserved by the
enthusiast and collectors who possess a precious example.

Between 1965 and the Nineties, the 1000 Km of Monza-Filippo Caracciolo
Trophy, was one of the most classical endurance races – a sort of 24 hours of
Le Mans – and for many seasons was, rightfully, a round in the world championships for sports cars and prototypes. Top drivers and cars challenged each
other on that historic Italian track and banking, the car
makers including Porsche, Ferrari and
Ford, bringing to
life many unforgettable pages
in the history of
motor sport. Aldo
Zana, prominent
motor racing historian, tells this fabulous story, year after year, included the competitions held between 1995 and 2008. Every
edition is enriched with starting grids and final placings. A huge work, never attempted
since now, illustrated with outstanding pictures, many of them never before published.

The stories of Monza and Formula 1 are inseparable, two examples of motor sport par excellence
that come together once a year, cross each other’s
paths and bring to life pages of history rich in fascination. In this book, enthusiasts will find accounts,
but above all the pictures covering the most significant moments in a long journey that began way
back in 1948 to reach the present day, with the
exploits of the stars of the wheel and the best
single seaters ever. To cover once again this exciting partnership is to
immerse oneself in drivers, technicians, cars and the spectators – those
of Monza are unique and incomparable – triumphs and tragedies.
Hundreds of mostly previously
unpublished pictures in
colour and black and white
comprise the structure of
this volume, which just has
to be in the libraries of all
Formula 1 enthusiasts.

Between 1954 to 1975, the Milan-based San Marco boatyard wrote some of the
most interesting pages in the post-war history of powerboating.
San Marco is the only yard that has extensively used Italian car engines for both
its racing and production boats, including those of Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo,
Lancia, Fiat and Abarth. The yard produced such models as the 600 Del Mare,
Giulietta del Mare, Appia; all of them fast and prestigious wooden runabouts of
elegant lines and refined details.
Like a fashion designer or a famous Italian coachbuilder, for over 20 years Oscar
Scarpa, founder of the yard, promoted a tradition of excellence, building with his
son Sandro around 600 exclusive boats, each with unique specifications, either
technical or aesthetic and beautifully finished. The San Marco boatyard has also
enjoyed a successful racing career, with more than 30 world speed records and
hundreds of victories to its credit at the highest competitive level, often with
Oscar Scarpa in the driver’s seat.
The book is a tribute to the San Marco boatyard’s unique contribution to the world of speed
boats and cars and reviews its full history. The work is illustrated with a remarkable collection of hundreds of unpublished archival documents and photographs as well as detailed
information, such
as its extensive
production and
racing records.
Nel 1954,Oscar Scarpa identifica il marchio
“Cantiere San Marco” con il nome della
città di Milano.
In 1954, Oscar Scarpa started defining his boatyard’’ss
visual identity in which the name “Milano” was still
as important as “Cantiere S. Marco”.

For 30 years from 1927 until 1957 the real Mille Miglia was the “race of excellence”. A
unique event of over 1,600 kilometres across Italy, the stars of which were some of the
world’s greatest car manufacturers, among them Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz,
Maserati, Ferrari, Jaguar and Aston Martin. And their cars were driven, naturally, by
some of the equally great champions of the time, like Tazio Nuvolari, Achille Varzi,
through to Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss as well as Alberto Ascari, Clemente
Biondetti, Piero Taruffi and many others.
The story, or better the stories, of that legendary race live again in this book, which tells
the tales of the classic “Bresciana”, first of all through hundreds of pictures, most of
them never previously published. The text has been written by Leonardo Acerbi, who
also wrote “Mille Miglia Story 1927-1957”.

The new, official book of the 2015 Mille Miglia opens with a focus on the memorable victory in the 1955 event by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in a Mercedes-Benz 300
SLR. They won the Brescian classic at an incredible average speed of 157 kph (97.6 mph),
a record that has remained unbeaten. And three of those Silvers Arrows dominated the
2015 commemorative Mille Miglia, opening the roads of northern Italy for the crews that
had brought their extraordinary cars to the event, which touched, as always, a number of
the most delightful cities and locations in the bel paese. This year’s race was dominated
by the Bugattis, with the French-built cars taking the first 10 places overall as well as in
that Temple of Speed, the Monza Autodrome. The 2015 Mille Miglia’s visit to one of the
world’s fastest racing circuits was its homage to Milan, home of the world-famous Expo,
to which the central part of the book is devoted and which concludes as in previous years
with a systematic cataloging of all 438 starters. Yet another record for a race that retains
unaltered its unequalled fascination. As always, numerous professional racing drivers
were at the start of the race, including Sir Stirling Moss, Hans Herrmann and Ralf
Schumacher, each driving one of the works Mercedes-Benz 300 SLRs and they were
joined by Jochen Mass, Cesare Fiorio, Derek Bell and Karl Windlinger.

TORO ROSSO: MONTREAL
rispetto a quelle utilizzate prima.

Updated edition of the book “Vespa. The
complete history from 1946”, published in
2011 to celebrate Vespa’s 65th anniversary. April 1946 was the debut date of the
revolutionary little two-wheel vehicle,
which, as well as leaving an indelible mark
on the history of transport, became a real
cultural phenomenon to successive generations. Simple and elegant, practical and
comfortable, these are some of the characteristics that have ensured the popular scooter an unrepeatable success,
with 35,000 of them built in 1949 alone. Seventy years after its birth, the
Vespa has affirmed itself throughout the world. This book covers the fascinating epic of the Vespa, from its debut to the present day, through hundreds of pictures and invaluable documents of its various
epochs. The work includes a systematic cataloguing of all the models that have appeared in
those 70 years, each one accompanied by a detailed technical specification.

In ogni caso

linea pulita e dalle notevoli prestazioni.
Rimane in listino
carrozzeria.
1a serie
È un veicolo perfetto, che trasmette simpatia
e innovazione. Piace ai ragazzi che ne
apprezzano la grande maneggevolezza
e lo scatto in partenza. Piace moltissimo
anche alle ragazze, le quali gradiscono in
particolar modo le sue dimensioni contenute
e la grande eleganza
della linea.

This is a unique book of its kind, useful to all Lambretta owners and riders who
mean to understand the evolution of the famous Innocenti scooter down to the
smallest detail. After having digested all the technical information supplied by
the concessionaires of the period, and having created thousands of illustrations showing all the versions produced by the Lambrate manufacturer
between 1947 and 1971 piece by piece, the author has brought to life a guide
that shows even the smallest modification carried out over the years on the
various models that have appeared in the marketplace.
Due to those illustrations, it is possible to see when a particular modification was
introduced during the production cycle of an individual model. The book is also
enriched by dozens of original documents of the period published in colour, production graphs and, no less important, all the official technical specifications
of the Traffic Control Authority for the registration of Lambretta vehicles.

Fifteen world championships in the 350 cc and 500 cc classes, 18 Italian national titles (175, 250, 350 and 500 cc), 311 victories in world championship races of
which 123 were world championship counters and 10 wins in the legendary TT.
That is the incredible record of Giacomo Agostini, achieved between 1962, the
year in which he won his first race at Bologna-San Luca on a Morini Settebello,
and 1977 when he took the win at Hockenheim on a Yamamoto in the 750 cc
class. Agostini – just about everyone calls him Ago – was the greatest racing
motorcyclist ever, and today he has decided to review his magnificent career
again by bringing together the greatest, most significant photographs of his life
in a book. The debut on the Morini, the golden years with MV and the less dazzling period with Yamaha, his experience as a team manager as well as his family, friends and his fleeting appearance on four wheels; these are the chapters
that comprise this work, which has never previously been attempted.

Marc Márquez is the new motorcycle racing icon, the very young rider who has
changed the face of MotoGP by winning the world title at just 21 years old. His
story is told in this book by Marco Masetti, the well-established motorcycle racing
journalist, who closely follows MotoGP as his publication’s correspondent.
Masetti has literally seen Márquez grow from when he was a little boy with racing in his blood to when he became the sport’s sensation on two wheels, a true
heir to Valentino. As well as this world championship-winning rider, whose career
has been nothing short of startling, away from the racetrack, the man and his own
personality emerge. And all of this is told amid exceptionally spectacular pictures
by outstanding photographers Gigi Soldano, Tino Martino and Jaime Olivares.

IN THE SAME SERIES
Since its first release in 2008, the official book of the Superbike World
Championship has been an indispensible resource for all fans of the championship
reserved for production derived bikes, the championship for bikes you can buy from
your local dealer. Like every year, this book opens with a chapter devoted to the winner of the World Championship title. Plenty of space has been devoted to reports on
the 12 scheduled races of the 2015 season, and to the bikes and riders that constitute the fundamental pieces in the complex SBK jigsaw. The “strong suit” of the official book, one of the parts that will delight fans of the series, is without doubt the
one dealing with the engineering of these authentic jewels, described in the most
minute detail - thanks to the contributions of specialists working for the various
teams - and illustrated with numerous photos revealing all the secrets of the championship’s leading players. The chapters on the “other world championships”,
Supersport and Superstock 1000 and 600 complete a book that should be on the
shelves of every true fan.

Fiat’s first agricultural tractor was presented to the civil and military authorities
of Turin in 1918 and marketed the following year by the Federation of
Agricultural Consortia. Thus began, 90 years ago, Fiat’s activity in the agricultural sector, in which it is now a global player with the CNH-Case-New Holland
marque. This book uses original photographic documentation to illustrate the
origins and development of the company’s agricultural products, tackling the
technical and human aspects of a story that has seen the introduction of over
500 models since 1918. This is the first comprehensive study of the Turin-based
firm’s history in the agricultural sector. This updated edition includes all the new
Holland new series presented from 2008 up to 2012. In 240 pages, with a vast
range of black and white and full colour photographs, it presents an overview of
a fascinating yet still relatively neglected side of the company. An indispensable
work for collectors, enthusiasts and the merely curious.
