You and your team will be living on the grounds of a cloister in Heiligengrabe. Here, and in
Potsdam, the anniversary celebration of youth hut building in Berlin/Brandenburg will be taking
place from June 28-29. The hut building is a project run by the German Organization for Memorial
Preservation (Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz) and IJGD. Your main task will be to prepare and
organize the celebration, which will take place in Potsdam, as well as help clean up afterwards
(putting up tents, benches, tables, etc). Before and after the celebration in Potsdam, you will help
the hut building workshop build a wooden dividing wall in Heiligengrabe.

Together with the Ruhr Regional Organization (Regionalverband Ruhr), your team will undertake
various nature preservation tasks in the Ufter Mark Nature Experience Area. You will help with
building and setting up gates, which you will build out of larch wood. Additionally, maintenance
tasks will be done on a handicapped-accessible path, such as cutting the trails free or maintaining
recreational areas. An additional task is removing protective traffic fences. You will be led by
foresters, who will be able to teach you a lot about the forest as a habitat.
