Introduction to E-Flu Despite the major investments in terms of capacity building and improvement of outbreak management, Avian Influenza is still a threat for animal and public health. In 2011 there are still several countries experiencing outbreaks of H5N1, and other countries which are experiencing an endemic situation. Outbreaks caused by other Avian Influenza subtypes are occurring continuously at a global level. The FLUTRAIN team has developed this e-learning course to support veterinary administrations in training newly recruited staff involved in avian influenza prevention, diagnosis and control activities. We hope that this will be a useful tool to train official and private veterinarians involved in Avian Influenza outbreak management. Contents Module 1: Description of Disease.
