COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE
Depuis mai 2010, dans le cadre d’échanges scientifiques, l’Institut national
d’histoire de l’art et l’Académie de France à Rome attribuent chaque année trois
bourses André Chastel de l’Institut national d’histoire de l’art et de
l’Académie de France à Rome, bourses de recherche post-doctorale pour des
études portant sur la période moderne et contemporaine.
En vertu de l’accord passé, ces boursiers sont logés à Rome, à la Villa Médicis. Ces
bourses sont destinées aux chercheurs, français et étrangers, en histoire de l’art
souhaitant se rendre à Rome pour effectuer une recherche dans les institutions
romaines et/ou italiennes (maîtres de conférences, professeurs des universités,
conservateurs du patrimoine, chercheurs indépendants et commissaires indépendants).
Les candidats doivent être d’un niveau post-doctorat (ou équivalent) ou être
conservateur du patrimoine. La bourse est d’un montant de 1.500 € avec possibilité
d’être logé à la Villa Médicis moyennant 400 € par mois.
Les projets de recherche pourront être rédigés en français, italien ou anglais.
COMMISSION DE SÉLECTION
La commission de sélection est formée du directeur général de l’INHA et du
directeur de l’Académie de France à Rome, du directeur du département des études
et de la recherche de l’INHA, de la chargée de mission pour l’histoire de l’art à
l’Académie de France à Rome et d’une personnalité extérieure.
La commission se réunit une fois par an, en juin ; les dossiers de candidature
doivent parvenir à l’INHA avant la minuit du 26 mai 2013 (par courriel uniquement
- cf. adresse ci-dessous).
DOSSIER DE CANDIDATURE
Le dossier doit comprendre :
1) Une lettre de candidature adressée au directeur général de l’Institut national
d’histoire de l’art.
2) Un programme de travail détaillé (4 pages maximum), en français, italien ou
anglais, comprenant :
▪ une présentation générale de la recherche ;
▪ le sujet particulier nécessitant la présence du candidat à Rome ;
▪ les institutions de recherche où se trouvent la documentation et les archives.
3) Une attestation de deux personnalités scientifiques appuyant la candidature.
4) Une fiche de renseignements dûment remplie, à télécharger :
▪ soit sur le site de l’INHA : www.inha.fr (puis Annonces – Appel à
candidatures - Bourse André Chastel) ;
▪ soit sur le site de l’AFR : www.villamedici.it (puis Villa Médicis - Histoire de
l’art - Bourses André Chastel).
L’ensemble du dossier devra être envoyé sur un même document en pdf.
Les séjours, d’une durée minimale d’un mois, sont attribués du 1er août au 31
décembre de l’année en cours.

of the National Institute of History of Art
and the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici
PRESS RELEASE
As of May 2010, as part of scientific exchanges, the French National Institute
of History of Art and the French Academy in Rome will award every year three
André Chastel fellowships of the National Institute of History of Art and
the French Academy in Rome. These fellowships are awarded for postdoctoral studies on the modern and contemporary periods.
As stated, the fellows are housed in Rome at the Villa Medici. The fellowships
are offered to researchers in history of French and foreign art willing to go to
Rome in order to conduct researches in Roman and/or Italian institutions
(lecturers, university professors, heritage curators, independent researchers, and
independent commissioners). The candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) or
be heritage curators. The fellowship amount is 1500 € with the possibility of an
accommodation at the Villa Medici for a fee of 400 € per month.
The research projects can be written either in French, Italian or English.
SELECTION COMMITTEE
The selection committee is composed of the Director-General of the INHA, the
Director of the French Academy in Rome, the Director of the INHA study and
research department, the representative for history of art at the French Academy
in Rome and an external scholar.
The committee meets once a year, in June, and applications must be
submitted to the INHA before midnight May 26st, 2013 (by e-mail only - see the
address below).
APPLICATION
The application must include:
1) A letter of intent addressed to the Director-General of the National Institute
of History of Art.
2) A detailed program (4 pages maximum), in French, Italian or English,
including:
▪ a general presentation of the research;
▪ the specific subject requiring the candidate’s presence in Rome;
▪ the research institutions where the documentation and the archives are
located.
3) Statements from two scientific personalities supporting the application.
4) An application form duly completed, to be downloaded:
▪ either from the INHA website: www.inha.fr (Annonces - Appel à

▪ or from the French Academy in Rome website: www.villamedici.it (Villa

The entire application should be submitted as a single pdf file.
The residencies, of at least one-month stay, are from August 1 to December 31
of the current year.

COMUNICATO STAMPA
Da maggio 2010, nell’ambito dei propri scambi scientifici, l’Institut national
d’histoire de l’art di Parigi e l’Accademia di Francia a Roma, attribuiscono ogni
anno tre borse di studio André Chastel dell'Institut national d’histoire de
l’art e dell'Accademia di Francia a Roma, borse di ricerca post laurea per degli
studi incentrati sul periodo moderno e contemporaneo.
In virtù dell'accordo stipulato, i vincitori della borsa di studio alloggeranno a
Roma, a Villa Medici. Queste borse di studio sono destinate a ricercatori di storia
dell'arte, francesi o di altre nazionalità, che desiderano recarsi a Roma per
effettuare delle ricerche presso istituzioni romane e/o italiane (docenti, professori
universitari, conservatori del patrimonio artistico, ricercatori e commissari
indipendenti). I candidati devono possedere un titolo di studio di post dottorato (o
equivalente) o essere conservatori. La borsa di studio prevede un rimborso pari a
1.500 € con la possibilità di alloggiare a Villa Medici al costo di 400 € al mese.
Il progetto di ricerca potrà essere presentato in francese, in italiano o in inglese.
COMMISSIONE DI SELEZIONE
La commissione di selezione è composta dal direttore generale dell'INHA, dal
direttore dell'Accademia di Francia a Roma, dal direttore del dipartimento di studi
e di ricerca dell'INHA, dal responsabile del dipartimento di storia dell'arte
dell'Accademia di Francia a Roma e da un giudice esterno.
La commissione si riunisce una volta all'anno, a giugno, e i dossier di
candidatura dovranno essere presentati all'INHA entro la mezzanotte del 26
maggio 2013 (solo tramite posta elettronica, vedi indirizzo qui sotto).
DOSSIER DI CANDIDATURA
Il dossier deve comprendere:
1) Una lettera di candidatura indirizzata al direttore generale dell’Institut national
d’histoire de l’art.
2) Un programma di lavoro dettagliato (4 pagine max.), in francese, italiano o
inglese, comprendente:
▪ una presentazione generale della ricerca;
▪ il soggetto particolare per il quale si rende necessaria la presenza del
candidato a Roma;
▪ l’elenco delle istituzioni di ricerca presso le quali si trovano gli archivi e il
materiale oggetto della ricerca.
3) Un’attestazione redatta da parte di due personalità scientifiche che appoggino
la candidatura.
4) Un foglio informativo, debitamente compilato, da scaricare:

I soggiorni, della durata minima di un mese, saranno assegnati per il periodo dal 1°
agosto al 31 dicembre dell’anno in corso.
