Shopping in Venice
Shopping Neighborhoods
Many of Venice’s shops can be found in the historic and artistic areas of the city, but due to the
city’s confusing geographical layout, it is easier to locate them by landmark. Designer shops can
be found in the area calledSan Moisè while most other shops are located between the famous
areas of theRialto Bridge andPiazza San Marco. The area ofMercerie, hosts hundreds of different
shops and many of its side streets contain even more stores. Many of Italy’s most famous
designers have stores and boutiques in Venice, but the highlights of shopping inLa Serenissima
are its artisan crafts ranging from hand blown Murano glass, to Carneval masks, Burano lace,
silks, and marbleized paper.
