SICME MOTORI, world-class leader in designing and manufacturing of large
horsepower electric motors (up to 2,700 kilowatt) for industrial applications,
celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007.
Over the past few years, Sicme Motori has developed, in cooperation with
the Polytechnic of Turin, technologically advanced NeFeB permanent magnet direct-drive motors and generators, designed using the latest electromagnetic, mechanical and thermal FEM simulation.
Sicme Motori has also developed an innovative line of direct-drive traction
machine for rope elevators with very high efficiency, low power consumption
and virtually maintenance free: this results in a much faster return on investment. Machines range from 0,8 to 3,5m/s car speed and from 350 to
2,000kg payload.
Environment is SICME MOTORI high-priority issue. In July 2007 the
Company commissioned a 45 KW photovoltaic plant on its roof. The installation nearly covers the plant's energy requirements.
