TERESA PASCARELLI
content creator, actress and producer
Teresa Pascarelli was born in Tokyo in 1965.
She grew up between the Far East and the United States attending British and
American Schools, where she began to write and perform at an early age. Teresa
moved to Italy, her homeland, at the age of 19 and attended the National Academy of
Dramatic Arts of Rome. After a rich 10-year experience as theatre actress with major
Italian actors, she began to specialize in the creation of edutainment projects aimed at
introducing the English language to Italian kids (TV shows, live shows and workshops)
The characteristic that distinguishes her work is her Bilingual Method™, which she
has mastered throughout the years: an accurate mechanism that alternates two
languages: English and the audience’s native language. In spite of this ‘surreal’ mix,
characters understand and respond to each other as if they were all speaking just one
global language.
STREAM TV
Teresa Pascarelli has been successfully experimenting her method ever since the
first TV programs she created, wrote and produced in 1999 for STREAM TV:
- Sei un angelo? (70 x 30’ – 1999-2001) bilingual program for kids
- Cartoni Umani (36 x 30’– 2000-1) bilingual program for kids
- Smack’s (30 x 5’– 2000-2001) bilingual sitcom for kids
- Cartoni Umani II (25 x 45’ - 2001) bilingual program for kids
During STREAM’S last year of life, before it was taken over by SKY, Teresa began to
collaborate with the Italian Ministery for Education (MIUR), which experimentally used
some of her episodes of Cartoni Umani to support English language lessons in Italian
Public Elementary Schools.
RAI TV
The author later introduced her method in RAI (Italian state TV), for which she created
the main and most successful programme of ‘Divertinglese’ (Rai Educational program
schedule for Elementary Schools organized by MIUR – Ministery of Education), the
sitcom ‘Tracy e Polpetta’. Thanks to its’ immediate success, RAI shot 10 series of
Tracy & Polpetta. It has been running for 12 years.
Divertinglese – 80 x 8’ bilingual sketches for ‘il divertinglese’ - RAI Educational
(2002-05)
Tracy e Polpetta I – 58x15’ bilingual sitcom for ‘il divertinglese -RAI Edu/ RAI 3
(2002-05)
Tracy e Polpetta II –30x20’ bilingual sitcom - RAI Edu/RAI 2/RAI 3(2002-06)
(scripts of the following series were written by Teresa’s assistants)

In 2009 Pascarelli creates her own company, JB Productions, which holds the rights to

Education of Regione Lazio, NUTS was staged for 6 years in major theatres in Rome
and Milan and won pubblic financing for becoming a workshop in 13 of Rome’s low
