Fluxus 2014-2021 - Tiberius Bridge Bimillenary
It has been around for 2 thousand years and is one of the “pieces of history” that most
characterize the city of Rimini. It is one of the best preserved Roman monumental
bridges in the world and among the most important ones. Tiberius Bridge, which is
the symbol of the city, is the strategic point from which depart the roads to the North,
the consular roads Popilia and Emilia, headed respectively to Piacenza and Ravenna and opening up to Central and Eastern Europe. As relevant today as it was then,
the bridge connects the city centre to its oldest district dedicated to San Giuliano,
one of the most characteristic areas of the city, linked to seaside tourism and the
memory of the film director Fellini. “Fluxus” is the program that will bring together
the celebrations of the 2000 years since the beginning of the construction of Tiberius
Bridge, which will start in spring 2014 and will unfold over a period of seven years.
An exceptional opportunity to combine events, culture, and structural interventions to
reconnect the sea, old town, and hinterland into a new bridge to the world.

Rimini’s Drawing Biennale - from Parmigianino to Kentridge,
from Hugo Pratt to Fellini
Italy is one of the historical homelands of drawing, certainly one that has enhanced
and expanded the horizons of meaning and aesthetics, elevating it to an independent
discipline after having been an art within an art. In the spring of 2014, Rimini organizes the “zero edition issue” of the Rimini’s Drawing Biennale, a festival that spans
centuries and fields of application, promoting a wide range of exhibitions, workshops,
performances, and video exhibits all centred around drawing but starting from the
most varied angles. Ancient folios from the Uffizi museum and contemporary works
from major foundations and private galleries will be exceptionally on loan.
The topic of drawing will also bring up the subjects of painting, sculpture, architecture, design, fashion, comics, theatre and cinema, finding extreme ideals ranging
from the sinopia of the fresco by Piero della Francesca, preserved in the Malatesta
Temple, to the donation by Renè Gruau and the Book of Dreams by Federico Fellini,
a permanent City Museum exhibit.

will rediscover “things made with one’s heart and hands,” an event where the food
prepared by the greatest chefs in the world with products from Emilia Romagna
intersects the market, where the fruits of a fertile land are offered up along with its
arts and crafts.
The outstanding products of the Emilia Romagna region, from Verdi to Fellini, Ferrari, and Ducati, to culatello ham and parmesan cheese, wines from the hills and
balsamic vinegar, will slide away on the Via Emilia from Piacenza to Rimini, where,
in front of the Grand Hotel featured in Fellini’s Amarcord, a large circus-market will
host the greatest chefs turned street chefs, together with the young artists from
fashion and design academies, artisans, and manufacturers.
An event in collaboration with Slow Food and Chef to Chef that intends to project the
best of our art, manufacture, and gastronomy towards Expo 2015.
