Das Österreichische Umweltzeichen
und das EU Umweltzeichen
Damit Sie auch in Zukunft Ihren Urlaub in einer intakten Umwelt genießen können,
engagieren sich Österreichs Tourismusbetriebe besonders im umweltfreundlichen
Management. Topbetriebe mit hoher Umweltqualität setzen dabei auf das Österreichische und das EU Umweltzeichen. Beide Gütesiegel werden vom Umweltminister an
Beherbergungs- und Campingplätze verliehen, die die Einhaltung hoher Umweltstandards nachweisen.

Many Austrian tourist accommodation services are highly committed to environmentally
friendly management in order to provide their guests holidays in intact environment – now
and in future. Top performance enterprises with high environmental quality adopt the
Austrian and the EU Ecolabel. Both quality labels are awarded by the Austrian Federal Minister of the Environment to accommodation enterprises and to camp sites which furnished
proof of their high environmental standards.

holiday fun. The enterprises bearing the Eco-label contribute to the preservation of the beautiful and intact landscape. Eco-label enterprises promote the use of renewable sources of energy,
avoid and separate waste, clean with environmentally-friendly detergents, and support soft
mobility – and all this with the same level of comfort for the guests. What is encouraging is
that the environmental commitment is in many cases supported by the guests and leads thus
to a joint commitment in favour of the environment.
