abstract
This research means to develop a safeguard and valorisation policy of one of the most important Italian site
regarding the Second World War history: the Fossoli Camp. The main aim of the project is to set and edit a
document, named “Practice Code”. The Code, supported by a very accurate knowledge, has to define an
operative approach in order to protect, consolidate, maintain and value this significant heritage, seriously
damaged by a devastating earthquake and above all by the abandon consequences.

Aim: define an instrument for the safeguard and maintenance of the Camp, articulated in different work level
(volunteers, skilled labour, specialist operations). It should be suitable also for the staff and financial resources
organisation.
